      It will probably go the same way as the awarding of university degrees, in that everyone can have one and it's up to an employers to sort out who is genuine. In this case, whilst there's no conflict going on, you can have 'pretend' Paras, and then when there's some trouble just use the ones who can do the job, with the odd 'token' woman put in for publicity.

      Haha, mate, this is absolutely golden, but let’s crank it up to full “hysterically funny” levels and let it rip.
      7 Hat (RHA) have been walting around since the mid-’80s, pretending to be 7 Para RHA, but let’s be real-they’re just 7 Hat. And, mate, there’s not much difference between them and this bird trying to pass P Coy. I mean, let’s be honest, P Coy is practically a holiday camp compared to the full horror show that is actual Parachute Regiment selection. Yet here we are, being told some bird who does a bit of rowing thinks she’s going to breeze through it like it’s a leisurely paddle down the Thames.
      Honestly, go listen to Spud talk about Goose Green-that’s being a paratrooper. Not this “I’ve done a few HIIT classes, now let me into the brotherhood” nonsense. Spud was out there bayonet snapped in half, out of 7.62 long, probably thinking, “Well, that’s suboptimal,” before looking around and going, “Right, what’s next?” The answer? An Argentinian helmet, obviously. That’s the kind of problem-solving skill that gets you a proper maroon beret, not a subscription to Gymshark and a Strava account.
      But in the spirit of fairness, I should acknowledge that female paratroopers have existed for quite some time. Yep, straight out of 3 Para Mortars, of course. Back when they were still blokes, they took a little trip to Thailand, where “Para” became “Para-no-more”, and suddenly, it was all: “Alright lads, this is Big Dave-except now, you can call her Davina.” Few snips here, few tucks there, a couple of implants, and-BOOM-Robert’s your mother’s sister.
      But let’s not be too harsh on this particular woman because, at the end of the day, inside every Royal Marine Commando is a Royal Navy sailor… singing ‘YMCA’ while doing their absolute best not to drop the soap. And let’s be real, if you asked a Bootneck to choose between a firefight and a dance-off, he’d pick the latter every single time-because nothing says “elite fighting force” quite like impeccable choreography and an undying love for a Village People classic.
      So, yeah, P Coy? No worries, love-just make sure you pack a spare bayonet, a sense of humour, and an Argentinian helmet. You’re going to need all three.
      ❤😂❤

    When I joined 5th Airborne (Aldershot) with 23 PFA,as it was then, in 1983 I had to bulk up as I barely met the minimum weight requirement which was at that time 10 stone, also men are generally physically stronger than women, the skeletal and bone mass is heavier and thicker, so I couldn't imagine most woman doing a firemans carry of "a wounded or injured soldier" over rough terrian in full battle order even for the required 100 yds in the route march (tab) and BFT/CQB tests; the same applies for All Arms Commando, with the lower field tests and the hell march across the tors! Heavy loads are carried and manhandled which most woman quiet franlky would have difficulty doing and to also be honest all the WOKE/PC that is possibly attached to this will cause problems which is why WOKE/PC throughout society needs to be knocked into shape and put where it belongs, back in it's box and resigned to obscurity!!
    There is always merit and ability but true reality has to be faced in certain cirmstances!

    From WW2 to 1960 the Royal Marines had the 'standard' marine ( with black beret, which the musicians still wear ) and Commando's ( green beret ) who had passed the Commando course; after 1960, all marines had to be commando trained. Maybe they'll go for something like a 'graduated' qualification (!) whereby everyone can join, and each marine adds the the things that they can do to it; like a driving licence ? ( might go more like the U.S.Marines ?)

    Well done to those women that passed the qualification of Marine or Para. Now. look how bad it has become for frontline Policemen who now have to police multiple male thugs when they have female officers with them. The Manchester airport incident, where one thug beat up two female officers and the only male had to fight alone. Do you really think those two thugs would have perfomed the same if it had been three male officers in attendance? We already see women soldiers in infantry battalions. Now let's see how many of them suffer training injuries because their bodies are weaker. The US Marine Corp did a comprehensive study, including making a whole battalion of 50/50 mix of men and women. The result? It lost EVERY competition when competing against an all male battalion. Fighting is all about winning, you do not want to come second. It is not about diversity. You want your military to be victorious, not defeated and consoling yourself with "but at least we were diverse and inclusive."

    As explained by myself when this pile of pump appears on tv. Pippa failed basic RM training. She left and did the AACC as a Naval officer.
    32 weeks of ball breaking training grinds down the individual. This is why she failed the basic 32 weeks RM training course. The AACC is based on passing the commando tests to allow these individuals to work in 3 commando brigade. They are not female marines they are commando trained personnel!!
    The piss poor journalism is the main cause of concern for many people in the RM .

    • @atae7185
      @atae7185 5 дней назад +1

      She never started RM training, she only did the all arms, she never passed, but the they gave her a “pass” anyway. She did the course while she was in the adjutant generals corp, not the RN.

    • @Mike_hammer75
      @Mike_hammer75 2 дня назад +1

      @atae7185 yeah and attempted the AACC and came off at a certain week. Then rejoined sometime later at the same point of the course. If that was a male he'd have to start from the beginning.
      I believe this happened twice. I was at CTC when she rejoined mid course and witnessed her stamping her joing cards at the stores/armoury. I was there when she got her lid, I was only on a 4 week course.
      The bottom field was closed down for her last attempt at the Tarzan and Assualt Course. I was told she had more than 2 goes at it, not sure if true but I remember all the hype for her to secure that lid. All political of course.
      Later she became my reporting officer, obtaining a RM capt billet which wasn't open to Army capt
      To be fair she was a good officer, good at gym work, OK at pull ups, I could do double her amount and I was no gym buff, in my 30's but strong back and legs, slight beer belly, could drink and fight and crack a cft with a stinking hangover. I also saw her do a cft and she was strong for woman, but average against males.
      In the field she was pump.

    Like pretty much everyone here, if they meet the standards just like everyone else it's not a problem. Will it happen? Who knows? Any combat arms unit is brutally demanding. Most women are not mentally or physically designed for such a challenge. There are those, a very small percentage, who could qualify but would they do it because they want to desperately be a Marine\Para or do they want to do it because they are a woman? I would prefer the former.

      They already serve in Para and commando trained supporting units, where their skill set is actually needed.
      The mission should always come first. And those units will never be more improved with a female in them.

    If women want to succeed in the toughest, then they have to be stubborn, never give up, give it their all. But few women want to do it or don't take it seriously.
    Look at Swedish Petra Malm, she gave her all in the military and was the first woman to make it and become part of the Swedish SOG (Severe Operations Group), she has also worked with the British SAS.
    She was, after all, only 158 centimeters tall. She has served in many countries.
    As I said, if a British woman is to be accepted and pass the Royal Marines, then you have to give it your all and be prepared for it to be tough and that she won't get anything for free or shortcuts because she is a woman.

      Pregnancy ? 1. This degrades a woman’s body feeding two and what if half your troop are pregnant when the call to arms comes ? Don’t degrade our forces .

      @combatreadyhq mate no one cares if you can a woman can do the job or not. You live on an echo chamber. You need to get out more. Even if all the stars and moons line up and you find that one woman, the moment she sees one of her comrades with his head blownn off, she will break mentally on the battlefield.

    The Standards should remain the same and not lowered, if they pass the Selection process then they deserve their place. But many years ago i can remember having to help a female dog handler get her dog over a fence when she was attached to 3Para 🫣, so its got to be some superwoman that will genuinely pass Para Reg Selection or Royal Marine Selection without it being a box ticking exercise.

    Training is nothing compared to the weight and the yomps you do in a unit, absolutely ridiculous. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
