Nowadays, money is something that should be addressed as well as much as people love animals. And how much we all care for them, we can't just work for minimum without having a steady income to be able to sustain our pets and ourselves, especially our pet needs.
Right lmfao, I stumbled here bored & made it to 1:52 before recognizing the need to listen no further. I would never want to be interviewed by or work with this woman 😂 I think I know why they’re hiring for every position.

How would tattoos effect your ability to be a good employee if their skillset matches the job their interviewing for? Just curious because 2 of my tattoos are my childhood pets 2 are my kids babies hand and foot prints and wedding ring. Yet I do my job just fine 🙂

This is great and all but I do have a requirement for pay. I can’t go homeless just to work with animals. Been there done that, I deserve a living wage at any job.

I've lived on a farm my whole life and went through a veterinarian assistance program through the mail, yes..... But when I go for an interview for a veterinarian I answer there questions right on, then they want to know about the school, I tell them and I have been told several times by almost all of the veterinarians in town if I didn't go to a college like WIT they don't want me......... So I plan to go for a vet tech then..... And yes at WIT.....
I got offered the job while taking my dog in for an exam. 8 years removed (former RVT). This field is bleeding talented people…it’s the pay. Unfortunately…
I am a registeredvet in pakistan . I wish to work abroad in a more hospitalized set up and learning environment. I wish my degree was accepted in other countries too so that I might be able to practice there.
Why is this all female based? She said “don’t talk about your boyfriend” and don’t have your parents say I have a “daughter” .. just kinda threw me off
That's because, except for veterinarians, the overwhelming percentage of veterinary workers are women. Most people use male as a default. This person evidentially uses the female gender as a default. Also, the comment is not meant to apply to everyone.
Loved the video😍 Thank you so much for the pointers, this way I can review this, myself and the animal clinic/hospital I'm applying to. By the way, I know this may be an old video, but where are you located? I'm trying to find a job working with animals myself.
Isn't judging someone on their tattoos and piercings if they are suitable for the job discrimination? Employers preach diversity in the workplace then make comments like this, this view seems a bit old fashioned
Do veterinarian take volunteers in their own practice? What if you never had a pet or any experience? What if you had other experiences like with people from different settings and age range?
I'm not sure about veterinarians offering volunteering, but I don't think it'll hurt if you ask around and if not, try asking if there are other places that are interested in volunteering like local animal shelters. It's best to have some experience, at least one year, MAYBE 9 or 6 months, because obviously if you're going be working with animals, you'll need to know some animal experience like behavior and handling almost any kind of animals that the clinic takes care of. I highly recommend getting experience with animals, especially in this field of work. even if you're going for a receptionist job.
wow! what a disrespectful way to talk about the financial needs of your staff. no wonder you have so many openings at your clinic!!!!!!! 😳 at least you’ve scared off the good people before they waste their time interviewing for this place. 🙃
Have been trying to get a job doing kennel work with no experience( I do have dogs). But NO-ONE calls me back(I applied through the "indeed job website"). I even applied to my own veterinarian's office(she's looking for kennel help- and nobody responded). Any suggestions?
Hmm…I can see why you were hiring every single position. Don’t ask for a certain amount of money? How do you expect people to pay their bills. Also, don’t come with piercings or tattoos? go back to the 1950s 😂
I am not against requesting an opening salary but this is not a profession that is every going to be “just about the money”. At least I hope not. Your worth is based on your experience and your clinics price points
@@kristamagnificoDVM I hope you realise this does not make you sound like a good employer. I absolutely love the fact that you are conducting what you want in an interview while the dog is in the background
Watched this video when preparing for vet/tech assistant interview at Animal hospital and it helped a lot. Been working in the ICU for 4 months now.
Im loving the baby in the background! 😍
I'm going for an interview next week this is super helpful!

Gonna disagree, I don't care how passionate I am about working...if you don't pay me the wage I need to pay my bills then it's a waste of time.
If you’re new at something don’t expect high pay
Angela I’ve applied for places I have experience in. Still shit pay.

Ramdom Giltter keep trying. Don’t give up. Ask if you can volunteer and maybe that will turn into a paid position.

No scrubs lol 😂 what do you think? Show up for work .. very tenacious it may work :) go ahead wear the scrubs. W dogs 🐕
