As I'm narrowing my search, this 1400BH is working its way to the top of my list. Questions... - Any recommended options for a battery box big enough to hold 2 large batteries and would be easy to install without any modifications? - Would the optional spare tire fit through the outside storage doors rather than having to mount it under the camper? - Last one... can the step be easily removed for additional ground clearance (I could see that just getting bent back on even moderate over landing). Suggestions... - I really wish these came with an option for a propane furnace. - Drop the gray water storage entirely, in favor of a slight increase in the freshwater tank to something like 30 gal. Thanks for the informative video!
All great questions and i'm glad that you are liking the 1400BH. I'll try my best to answer your questions! For the battery box we have this at your local CW (or should, always call ahead for availability) www.campingworld.com/camco-double-battery-box-118120.html that will hold 2 batteries, the rails behind the propane tank are where you would put it BUT check with your local Camping World to see if any modifications need to be made to the rails first. For the spare tire, unfortunately it won't fit through the baggage door, but more importantly, there is no bracket in there to secure it so it would be bouncing all around during transit, the under frame is the more secure spot for it. The step can be removed, it's just bolted on but, just being honest with ya here, I'm not sure if it will help with the ground clearance that much vs not having a step. I'm also very clumsy, so.... Hope that helps!! As always check with your local specialist at Camping World too to see what they can do to help! Thank you so much for the comment and for watching! - Chris Young
This trailer is ideal for somebody with a full size SUV or van. Hven a pickup will work for this one. That way you have sleeping options in the vehicle.
Honestly, I belive you can mount just any rack with the dimension and bolt it to the Frame closer to the top edge and use sealants... there's a guy on RUclips that had actually installed one on his unit. Hope this helps!
Hi Ian, So i just purchased the Rubicon 1400bh, the rig came with the Inverter Prep and Solar Control Panel Prep, my question is should mine look like the box in this video and its placement? Mine is currently not, i found it under the seat and its just free wires laying out.
Hey there! That's a great question. RV manufacturers are notorious for making rolling changes on things like this and not saying anything. That being said, while I don't think the placement is a big issue or of any concern, I DO believe your RV should've came with a cover as I'm VERY hard pressed to believe the manufacturer meant to have free floating wires. That being said, it's possible there was a supply shortage and the manufacturer shipped it anyway or it could've just gotten missed at the factory. Either way, I would absolutely reach out to your local Camping World as your RV should still be in warranty and get that cover ordered unless you plan on installing an inverter and solar control panel in the near future. Hope this helps! -Ian Baker
Where did you get the info about the roof being prepped for the thule roof racks. Dealer i bought mine from says no. Do you have a model number for thule racks
Hey Bob, send me an email at Ian.Baker@campingworld.com and I'll send ya the necessary info for the roof racks. I promise you it's prepped for it. -Ian Baker
The short answer is yes, driving with the fresh water tank full is absolutely the intention for this camper, allowing you to get to your preferred campgrounds or boondocking locations with ample fresh water for your stay. As for the gray holding tank, the camper is designed to transport waste from a remote site to a dump station. But you'll benefit from finding a place to empty that tank before the bulk of your drive home to decrease your trailer's gross weight and improve your fuel economy slightly. Hope that helps!
I haven't seen one of these in person yet. But i like it. Is there more clearance under the rear awning than on the rubicon 12? That one is a bit short for me, but this one appears slightly taller.
Just bought one a week ago and they didnt tell me or can I find a video or info on where to mount a tv. I dont wanna make holes in the wrong area, couple you please give me some details?
Let me look into this and get back to you. I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. Have you tried to use a stud finder on the wall to the left of the hookups? I would assume there is a backer or a stud there. However, I will ask for verification. -Ian Baker
@@campingworld I did and I found one wood one and a metal one. I have the TV hung up but it would be useful for other buyers to know exactly where to hook up
Hi There! I'd recommend contacting our Performance Upgrade and Improvement department to see what they recommend here. This is where you can find their contact info: rv.campingworld.com/rv-service-maintenance Let us know if you have any follow up questions!
What are the exact dimensions at their longest points for the 1400BH (L x W x H)? And if you add the Thule roof racks with the Tepui Autana Ruggedized - Annex Included - 3 Person Roof Top Tent that you mentioned, what would that make the total height in inches (tent closed)? My garage opening height is just shy of 93 inches and want to make sure it will work with the added roof top tent. If it will be too high for my garage height, what other roof tent options can you recommend for this configuration?

Does anyone know what roof rack parts are compatible with these campers? The manufacturer and camping world have no idea....

Does it have trailer breaks? Does the fridge run on propane?
Hey Seth, yes the trailer does have brakes and the the fridge is electric only. Great questions!

Very similar clearance under the rear hatch to be honest as they're the same height.

Can i tow this with a 2 door jeep wrangler?
Yes. Do you know its tow rating?
How does the roof rack attach to it?
There are backers built into the roof to mount it. A Camping World location would be able to install it for you.

Why such a big grey tank? It seems odd to be so much bigger than the fresh tanks.
