Orange is a color that always puzzles me. I'm so terrible at mixing the right shade/hue, and I'm not very good at applying or highlighting it. I have the same problems with purple. This was very helpful and gave me several tips! Thank you!

Thanks for the nice comment! I am painting on a piece of a Fredrix Canvas pad here. It's the same canvas they use for their stretched canvases, but in pad form :)

I wish there was a non-cadmium orange or deep that is cheap and covered as well, maybe something for the future
Thanks for the compliment! Yes, Cadmium colors are very unique and there isn't any substitute that quite matches up. If you're concerned about safety, you can rest assured Cadmiums are safe despite anything you might have heard. Just don't eat it. LOL If it is the cost that is the issue, have a look at Lukas1862 or Utrecht brands which are priced very well for genuine Cadmiums.
