Rode sound clearly better than DJI. Watched a few other videos on this comparison too and it was always the same. Everyone likes the DJI usability but the Rode sounds way better.
Great review! It definitely consolidated my preference for the one system over the other. It really is a subjective decision as I am happy with both DJI and Rode and you get used to them within a few seconds of listening to each audio. I found the Noise Reduction feature interesting. As Noise Reduction is a tuning and filtering of certain frequencies I thought it was interesting that when the announcement on the platform is heard the NR seems to make it clearer - which makes sense as this feature doesn’t distinguish between your voice and the voice of the announcement. It is wild to imagine that perhaps someday we may get AI tuned NR which may be able to combine the picture of the person talking and is able to fine tune the sound to that person and filter out other unwanted sounds!

Such an extensive audio comparison - after listening to so many samples, my ears are a bit muddled. Both seem to offer similar sound quality to me. Perhaps the ease of use that comes with the DJI Mic 2 might just tip the scales in its favor for my purchase.
Everything seemed to sound so much better when noise cancelling was off (dji). The only time I think it sounded good when switched on was in the echo tunnel.
Being new to all this and not knowing anything about setting, just having an understanding, you need a mic for decent audio. The Rode sounds better out of the box but not enough to cancel out the ease of use benfits of the DGI for an amuture just making videos for their friends.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I highly appreciate it, however I’m very surprised by your conclusion because the audio quality of the DJI Mic 2 is significantly worse than the Rode wireless pro. And as my test actually proves, it’s actually the microphone in the DJI Mic 2 that is the week point. When I use an external Lavalier microphone together with the DJI mic 2 it sounds great. However, with all kind of tests, it’s individual preferences that at the end will decide what’s considered better or worse. I appreciate you sharing your conclusion.
@@MK-Creator I agree the Rode does sound better.....but did you have the low pass filter on as many other reviewers have? Many find it more pleasing when it is off. Also, most people won't have both to compare and do a side by side comparison. The Dji quality is just good....but with that said it's much easier to adjust settings on the receiver and you don't need your app to make changes like the Rode. Also Bluetooth connection can save you in a pinch one day, though it is far from great sound. Also the DJI doesn't just hang from a cable which I never liked about the Rode......but again if sound quality is the only thing someone is looking at the Rode is better. Though trust me that Noise Reduction feature can save your audio in a busy environment!
@@MK-Creator yeah you're correct, Rode has better sound quality when I re-watch your comparison video on my Mac (previously I watched it on mobile phone). But what DJI Mic 2 offers is suitable for my needs (design, form factor, feature, portability etc), yeah so it's about personal preferences. Thanks for sharing :)
I have tried both rode and dji. DJI is easiet to use and has a better design overall, but the sound goes to Rode and thats why i returned my DJI. You also get more value, since you get 2 lavalier mics with Rode
The consensus I've gathered from comparison videos of these two systems is that the Rode has better quality internal mic with more bass. But the DJI is easier and more convenient. After YT compress s the audio the difference becomes less noticeable. The form factor of the Rode is another con. But really either system is fine it's not going to make or break you video.

Rode sounds best. Locking lavs are a plus. Wish the Rodes had the DJI interface. Or DJI had Rode audio quality and QC.

I think the difference is so tiny, both of them offer great audio quality. But personally I'll choose DJI Mic 2
