Dude I ALWAYS upsell the house wash with all roof washes. I just explain to them the risks associated with overspray and the importance of house washing right after a roof wash. Also throw in a discount for the bundled service to make them feel all warm and fuzzy but yeah we never do roofs without the house tacked on. Maybe you can implement that into your business! Austin, you have probably been told this but you should put a 3 way valve below SH metering valve ( where it pulls the SH through) and connect it to you water tank. That way you can flush your SH metering valve while you clear your system. The existing set up you have is not rinsing anything besides the pump. Which is good but you should rinse your SH metering valve also so it last way longer. Real symbol trick to make your metering valve last much longer and truly rinse your system. I don’t with my soap metering valve because it doesn’t seem to effect it negatively.

Or use camlocks on your water and SH tanks to flush. Swap the line from your SH tank to your water tank using the camlocks, open up your SH valve all the way, and it'll flush the entire SH line with water.

He started the pressure washer so he could rinse. 12v for roof, pressure washer for rinsing.

Ive never seen that nor know how thats possible. But ether way, 12v is the way to go.

@@khaledahmad7227 at the end of the day it's chemical being sprayed to remove the organic growth. The only thing that changes is how long it takes you to do it.

Hey Austin, good content as always! Any tips on chemicals or procedures to cleaning asphalt? 90% of roads and driveways here are asphalt and I haven’t been able to find much help as of yet. Thank you in advance brother!
There’s nothing you can do. Usually it’s cleaned before a seal coat
@@seattleprowash5464 yeah we’re struggling with a lot of asphalt cleaning! We’ve landed a 2 year contract to clean up after a large rubbish bin and dumpsters company and have yet to find the magic cleaning solutions for any type of oil/grease staining. I have a hot water machine that does very little for cleaning asphalt. Luckily I’ve only had compliments 7 months in as I think most people understand that asphalt is a beast to clean but appreciate the hours of effort we put in.
@@thomasdepontes5273 yeah it's because asphalt is itself and oil products and ordinary degreasers can damage it and hot water can bring it closer back to a state of liquid like when it's hot mix and cause damage. Only thing you can do is rinse it off.
@@thomasdepontes5273 can you sub the work to a vac truck? The street sweeper guys can often do it in 10 minutes, I could be wrong though!
@@seattleprowash5464 Thank you! That’s probably the best suggestion I’ve had so far! I’ll start calling around to explore the possibilities. Oddly enough I’ve never considered subbing out the work and always looked for ways to get the job done myself.
I’ll continue to ask around for other cleaning possibilities cause the demand here is huge, however like you guys been saying, maybe there’s no actual way of cleaning asphalt and people are just going to have to except whatever results we can provide without causing damage 🤷🏽♂️.

Usually from what I see it's just to clear any obstructions or items like twigs,leaves and mud but not usually to get it back to bare paint.

@@Swschrader chest mount for the go pro camera. Look like " FIRM GRIP Nitrile Dipped Glove" gloves you can buy at Lowe's and home Depot.

If it's organic based surfactant wouldn't your bleach kill the additives?

Thanks What if your main focus is just houses. Is 200ft more than enough. Or can I get away with 150ft, or what do you recommend. I have a 4 gpm washer. They say you can only use 150ft max? Your thoughts?
@@shaun5450 it all depends on how close you can get to the house. And that max is just like when the length of hose puts enough friction loss on the flow of water that the psi level gets affected. That's why some people set up their pressure washer with 1/2" hose for the first 50 feet so there's less of that friction loss for the first 50ft if you only need 50ft or 150 ft (50' 1/2" then 100' 3/8")of hose to do the job. If you have a quick connect pressure gauge you can see how much psi the washer is putting out at the pump and then move the gauge to the end of the 100' or 200' of hose and see what the pressure lose is. Concrete cleaning needs 2500-300psi so if you're still at that range with 150 or 200ft of hose then you should be fine. From a friction head loss calculator I just used online 3/8" line doesn't have noticable loss until 366.5 feet for 4 gpm.
what gpm 12v pump are you using?
If I remember correctly it's a remco 7 gpm pump.
Nice Job Austin. I got a question for you. What exactly is on that roof? Black mold? I live in colorado so its a dry area where we dont experience mold a whole lot. Can I still get roof jobs for other reasons?
I go to Colorado every year and I’ve never seen a dirty roof because of how dry it is. Yes it’s black mold
@@AustinDavis24 Perfect, do you think you can answer one more question? With your proportioner system, how do you go about the surfactant (soap)? What do you use, and do you dilute it first in a tank then dilute it even more on the proportioner. What are the ratios?
@@gusbiesecker8677 yea I have a 16 gallon soap tank that I run 1 gallon of surfactant to 10 gallons of water. Then I pull it through the proportioner. I use about a 2 on the proportioner. Works perfect

Gloeocapsa magma is usually what on asphalt roofs
Respirator masks should not be left out in open air keep it in a bag, they are only meant for so many hours or absorption. They loose effectiveness quickly unbagged. Just a heads up and tip to keep ppe protecting you and not wasting $$$

I wouldn’t have sprayed that bleach in the yard. Didn’t make a lot a sense to me. Better to have dumped it in the gravel or like most would do just back in the bleach tank.
