Why don't just say Butler for the whole Houston's squd. Oh wait, Houston has a better record than Miami, wow.
To non rockets? We know how good Jabari is and we value him too and we don’t have any other pf we would never do this he getting resigned this offseason
Riley is controlling narrative. But I think if pat gets right desk, he’ll pull the trigger. By saying he’s not trading him, increases the probability that he does get the right deal.
Man butler is old and often injured so I have no idea why anyone would give the Heat much more than expiring contracts and maybe a decent player. And he’s grossly overpaid for what he is at this point in his career.
Butler for Beal A for Suns F for Heat And I say that as a Suns fan. Why would the Heat want to exchange an expiring contract for one of the worst in the NBA? Suns have no draft capital to add, and Heat would be stuck paying Beal with his no trade clause unless they could find some other sucker that Beal would find acceptable
@@saints146 You have no idea know what you’re talking about the Heat aren’t trying to tank lol. They want players not picks which is how they’ve literally always operated.
The Jimmy Butler situation is a perfect example that people do not consider the recent rule changes. It is really hard to trade for a big salary like this and in this case it is an expiring contract of a 35 year old clearly declining player that wants to be traded mainly because he wanted another big contract before the season. These offers are all way too much for Jimmy Butler. To be fair, it is not really an expiring contract, Jimmy will most certainly opt in as he will make nowhere near as much in his next contract, so i would see him as a 2 year rental. Jimmys next contract though should look something like the contract Klay Thompson signed in Dallas this off season, not a max or anything like it. Jimmy to a contender is basically impossible, unless Houston wants to make a deal around FVV. All the other teams dont have the salaries to match without gutting their entire team.
@@rowen4989 I know many people would argue against it, but i see PG as the better player. PG is also slightly younger and a better complimentary piece next to other stars. Nevertheless, i am sure the 76ers are already deeply regretting giving PG that contract and i think the league has now understood the implications of the rule changes. Contenders do not have the cap space for a risky guy like Jimmy and rebuilding teams have no use for him at that salary. He will stay in Miami, take his player option for 50+ mil and will be a mid-level guy afterwards if he is still able to play.
I’m honestly so surprised we didn’t get commentary like this comment from the video. It’s the kind of commentary I expect from him usually. Like yeah they’re all bad trades, but never got into why like this did. Trying to move massive contracts in this new CBA is sooo restrictive. It forces teams to give up half their team in many cases just to match the salary. Regardless of the value or talent of those players, no team is giving up half or more of their rotation for an aging Jimmy Butler making 50 mil
Probably a more soft Dame trade - Even then, that was quite complicated given Portland needed to offload Jrue and also Nurkic. Draft wise, it was only 1 Pick and 2 swaps but i cant imagine anyone swapping a quality starter for Jimmy
Sad thing is, some team will probably give up 2 firsts and assets for butler cause the NBA is the one sports league where majority of player trades are massive over pays. Gobert, Bridges, Harden multiple times, KD, and even lesser players like Tobias Harris in 2019 and Westbrook multiple times. GMs need to stop overpaying for players
There really is no good trade for Jimmy Butler. I thought maybe Denver might trade MPJ and another young player to make it work, but even that would be if Denver really wants to get rid of MPJ. Jimmy doesn't event fit their team. The Rockets don't need him and since Fox might be on the market, that would be better for them... I'm not convinced Jimmy Butler is going to opt out of his contract. Only team with cap space in the off season in the Nets and they're not giving him a 2 year $100 million contract. I think Jimmy is going to have to opt into his contract. See James Harden-Sixers situation...
I think Jimmy to Spurs makes a ton of sense with where Spurs are currently at and them consolidating the roster... Jimmy for Keldon, Tre & Collins... Picks as you want but I think both teams do this if it's on the table... Makes too much sense... Jimmy with Wemby & CP3 would be interesting
The Denver doesn't make sense at all either. Because for a cheaper price they can get Grant. Someone that actually has played and fits next to Jokic, is younger and is a better shooter.
@@BiscayneBeast Is he really the same guy? Mr "They would have lost if I was on the court". Plus somehow wanting a massive contract on a contenter team.
If the Rockets will hear this kind of package request from the Heat, Stone will just fell off from his chair and rolling on the floor laughing to death.
Nuggets deal makes sense for both teams. MPJ is just too inconsistent as a 3rd option but maybe as a 1st or 2nd he'll find his groove, and Jimmy instantly turns Denver into title contenders again.
Unless its Kevin Durant or LeBron James….. if you were giving up assets for someone 36+ your GM should be fired. The new CBA made first round picks so much more valuable than they’ve ever been.
If I'm Houston I don't think I even want Butler. Amen Thompson is such a ridiculous talent who I would not want losing minutes to Butler and the Rockets have the assets to go big game fishing for say Devin Booker in a year or two. Now that would be a title team while adding Butler to the current Rockets maybe gets them to the WCF.
Honestly, If i was Golden state Id consider selling everything for a rebuild around 2028-30. Trade Steph to a contender team, for some future picks, but hopefully to a contender team with some old dudes on it. Start trading some other pieces too. Prob get a pick or 2 for some other guys, start a rebuild process.
Jimmy Butler is not going anywhere - they'll rather trade Tyler Hero, Duncan Robinson (the two largest contracts of players not named Jimmy Butler or Bam Adebayo) and other pieces (one of Nikola Jovic/Jaime Jaquez Jr. and/or draft picks) for 'win now' players
No contender wants him at these asking prices, the new cba has really trapped a lot of players that used to be able to demand trades. Teams need to be cautious as a trade for Butler could destroy your team for years.
Pat Riley is smarter than about 25 of the other GMs in the league. Any trade that includes first round picks is going to pique his interest. BTW, doesn't Jimmy have a player option for like $50 million for next season?
Denver needs more value. Jimmy is an expiring, but if you want to keep him he's going to be an albatross. MPJ is young. And I think the idea of the team who is 30th in 3PA replacing one of the NBA's better shooters with Jimmy Butler is just crazy... Butler is a 35 year old 18.5ppg player who routinely misses 20 games a year, is a bad locker room guy, can't space the floor, and wants a payday. Denver is not going to bid against themselves, and you did not like the other offers.
And seems people are really having very short memories and totally forgot how Jimmy performed when was traded to the Sixers when he was MUCH younger. And who the F will give 3 first rounder for someone who’s never been at the top level like KD or LeBron and clearly is over the hill at this stage of his career? If Jimmy will be opted out of his final year, I guarantee he will never get that amount in his new contract.
The warriors if they want to trade for butler they should include green, podz, payton, kyle, gui some first round pics and some second. Wiggins has been great this year he should not be traded
Why would we trade our entire bench for a player that is aging... Literally Andrew Wiggins is fine at small foward. We don't need to trade him and our bench for aging small forward
A Rockets trade for Butler before he went to Miami I was on board for, but if Houston makes this trade, or any trade for Butler other than Butler for Tate, I literally will stop watching the Rockets forever. I don't believe they will, but you never know. Rockets need to stand pat and wait for Booker in the off season.
Well it’s only realistic is Suns or Golden State. A lot of teams aren’t going to give Miami a lot because of Jimmy gonna be a free agent next summer so Miami loses a lot of leverage. A lot of rumblings in Phx about Beal and Nurkic being traded.
I don’t know who the hell thinks jimmy is worth 2-3 first round picks. Jimmy is past his prime and 2 picks sets you back 4 year and 3 picks sets you back 6
I think LeBron has us believing 35 isn't old. For a basketball player it's ancient. I've seen similar "offers" Houston could make for Durant. It's delusional for a player that old.

There is no win-win for a Butler trade at his age and skillset. He makes to much, way too old and not a modern floor spacer for the value he offers. No team would offer more than a 2nd along with some role players and maybe a 3rd tier player. At best, he should be a 3rd option and his trade value is much lower than his financial status.
