- 🌊🎣 What a fantastic day on the water with amazing company! Blustery conditions didn't deter us from the Smartsquid Lure Only Challenge. It was all about catch, measure, and release, and the competition was fierce!
Starting our day at the stunning Lymington Yacht Haven marina with its impressive facilities and breathtaking location, we couldn't have asked for a better setting. We kicked off the morning with 22 competitors enjoying a mouthwatering full English breakfast in the Haven restaurant, where the sea views of the Solent added to the charm.
After a thorough safety briefing, we headed out onto the water, armed with only lures - no baits allowed. Every catch had to be carefully measured and photographed before being released, with all photos uploaded to our group chat. As we headed to the entrance of the harbor for our shotgun start, the excitement was palpable.
Within minutes of the start, fish were already being uploaded to the group chat, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. Throughout the event, we witnessed a stream of impressive catches that kept everyone on their toes. It looked like it would be a close call to determine which team would earn the bragging rights as the Lure Only Champions.
The prize-giving ceremony took place back at the Haven restaurant, where we all enjoyed a well-deserved drink. A massive shoutout to Boatlife for their invaluable support. The restaurant was buzzing with everyone sharing their stories of the day, including those hilarious moments like Harry's fish-dropping antics! 😂
We wrapped up the evening with a delightful curry at the Lal Quilla restaurant in Lymington High Street, putting the cherry on top of a truly memorable day.

🏆 Biggest Bass:
1st - Mick Teague of Ex Squid Sit (60cm)
2nd - Joel on Tequila (59cm)
🏆 Main Event:
1st - Tequila (460cm)
2nd - Smartfish with special guest Harry from Bodle Angling (452cm)
3rd - Squidward 3 (313cm)
