Hey! Just wanted to ask you a question since you have experience with the previous versions. I've never had puma before but I would like to try these. Should I stick to my regular size or maybe go for half down? I've heard they have quite a lot of room in front. Thanks
@@umberto2907 I can only compare the size to other brands I’ve ran in, but for example I think Pumas fit exactly the same as Nike. I’m an 11.5 in both and wouldn’t change a thing. My nitro deviate 2s feel a lot like Nike Pegasus, size-wise
Still remembering the days when Meg refused to be on camera. I’m glad we get the dynamism of the Thomas & Meg combination on camera. Great energy, good fun, and a great review!
Soon the word will get out about how good Puma running shoes are. Until that happens, I’ll enjoy getting Velocity Nito 2’s, Deviate Niro 2’s and Magnify Nitro 2’s for an absolute steal. Great shoes.
Elite Foam, yes, but Elite Foam "Version 1", it's actually not the same elite foam as in the Elite 3, it's the previous Elite Foam that was in the Elite 2 and Nitro 2 :)
01:27 i assume the plastic spoiler keeps the shoe together in the back. On my deviate nitro 2s both shoes started to split on the external side, right above the letter p from the word puma. No problem on the inside. Seams that the grey reflective tape is not sufficient enough and puma opted for a more radical solution with the plastic spur. I have seen the same thing though in minor degree on other people's deviate nitro 2. Note, i'm always scrupulous when i put running shoes on or i'm getting them off.
I know the V1 has been, for me anyway, a real Goldilocks shoe (Yes, I bought several pair when I found out how good they were...I do this), with a fit that only a couple of other shoes have ever compared with. Hoping this continues with the update.
So are these wider than the 2nd version? I absolutely LOVED it that shoe, but it was not wide enough for me. Would I be wasting my time buying these? I know they made a wide version for the 2's, but I don't see it for this 3rd version
I'd like to know this too. I always like Puma shoes on paper, but despite not having a particularly wide foot they are so narrow in the midfoot that they give me almost immediate pain.
I had the standard width of the V2 and they were definitely narrow for me, bearable but definitely narrow. I tried on the wide version of V3 and they felt perfect. I think for me the standard width would've been to narrow for me. Just my 2 cents
I'm going back and forth whether to buy this one or the New Balance SC Trainer V3. I loved the New Balance V2 and liked it a lot, but this version is a different shoe and from what I've heard much firmer. I tried a demo of the Puma at a local 5K and liked it for that. So, hmmm. I want something to do a lot of things including long runs and to pick up the pace in the middle of long runs. Which one?
Are you guys absolutely positive that it does not have a layer of nitro Elite? Because it does look like that it has two separate layers and that would be a step backwards from the last Model if it did not have the elite layer. I absolutely loved the second one, I own three pairs of them
Just a bit confused... Didn't they rebrand the old nitro elite (peba) to just regular nitro, and the new nitro elite uses aliphatic peba? Or something... Or did this went back to the old nitro foam? The infused eva...
I ordered this shoe directly from Puma. When checking out, they offered a "gift" which turned out to be not a gift, but a discount on one of their little backpacks. I picked one out because I thought it was free. They charged me $15 dollars for that. I then got an e-mail from Puma saying that one of the items in my order had been cancelled. Turns out it was the shoes that were cancelled. So the little backpack that I did not even want came, but no shoes. Funny thing was the day after the shoes were cancelled, I was able to put the same shoes, same size, in my Puma shopping cart - but I did not purchase them because I had such a lousy experience. Wow…just watched another review that said it was super slippery and didn’t have any energy return…..now I am confused…..will have to watch more reviews before considering this shoe….I am still wearing the original which is my go to shoe
How did you get the SAVE30 code on puma wdbsite to work? The code didn't work for me when I tried checking out with these shoes. I figured the code didn't work with newly released product.
Remember when EVERYONE blasted Skechers for putting SPEED on the side of their shoe. And now Every.Single.Brand puts huge lettering on the side of their shoe. Skechers really did lead the way with foam and design.. LOLOLOL I finally got a pair of the DN 2. Nothing special at all really. Pretty narrow toebox and pretty firm. Don't reach for them much. Super glad I didn't pay full price $65US only.
As the mid tier line - If the DN2 ride was muted by its thic, knobby but practical outsole, they've muted the DN3 by the slab of carrier foam under the elite foam in the midfoot.
@@minimumtrade yeah, the Nitro extends to the end of the plate. You're looking at the cutout from where the plate is visible. There is exposed foam that extends into the forefoot and it is a continuous piece of material. I don't need to cut my shoe in half to see that.
I've had 3 pairs of the 2's, one of my favorite running shoes ever. The 3's look sick

This vs the Hyperion max 2 would be interesting
I got the nitro 2 elite, and i love it . I will get this model, maybe next year when it's on sale.

Love DN3 so far

In small pop up with a pigeon they admit they made an error. There is layer of elite foam.
I really like those I will be getting a pair for me and my wife

The old nitro is nitrogen infused TPEE not EVA

Look at you just going around commenting this on every video review of this shoe you can find. I love that for you. Incredible dedication

Super slippery? Hard to believe. Puma grip is well known as one of the best outsole grip.
@@gendijPumagrip is great. I ended up almost tripping on my first couple of runs in the DN2 since it dug in to the asphalt so much.

lol wrong
Fun when Puma puts NITRO big on their shoe…tacky when Skechers puts SPEED in big letters on theirs 🤷♂️

We actually loved the big Speed on the side, but yeah they did get blasted by the shoe geeks
Better of the two vids dropped today.
Puma claims that the top layer is still nitro elite although it’s not written on the shoe, I don’t know what do y’all think.
As the mid tier line - If the DN2 ride was muted by its thic, knobby but practical outsole, they've muted the DN3 by the slab of carrier foam under the elite foam in the midfoot.
It's the same midsole setup as the 2. The regular Nitro foam still went the length of the shoe.
@@runnin3216 Nope. Look at runrepeat cut in half pictures of the DN2. Its solely elite foam under the ball of the foot.

I tried Nitro Deviate 2 to me there was NO pop I have the Boston 12 and there is no comparison. The Boston 12 is clearly a better shoe.
Dn2 es un zapato sobrevalorado.
I don't like the change of drop from 6 to 10mm. Beside this Puma shoes are really great.
Backgroud music, why?
Unrelated to the shoe and maybe it’s just me but I found the background music to be distracting….

Puma Deviate Nitro 2 was too heavy and plate too soft also too wide for my feet. Good for long runs but not for high speed.
