It’s literally the raw emotion of the song and her voice . Demi has such a strong voice . This song is about her alcoholic father that passed

Respect your opinion all the way. Thank you for reacting!!
In my opinion, I love the way this song was delivered because the lyrics required that the thoughts are just as strong as the vocals on the song yet there is pity so that’s why the change on the vocal delivery from one chorus to the next one and then she “cries” on the bridge because this is very painful and a lot of emotional turmoil within her. This is how I feel about it why I love the way she sings it. ❤❤❤

I 100% agree with you. Her vocal technique in this song was on purpose and that high note at the end was definitely like a cry because it was her first song about him after his death. A little research for the reactors wouldn’t hurt.

Her voice is not strained it’s raw emotion the song is about her father who she didn’t have the best relationship with. Demi sings with power and emotion she is one of the best vocalists in the music industry today and yes Demi writes her own music

Demi Lovato just dove deep into the meaning behind "Father," the emotional ballad on her new album, Confident. As its title suggests, the track is about her late father, who struggled with mental illness and died tragically in 2013. Demi has been open about her own struggle with bipolar disorder and regularly works to bring awareness to the cause, but listening to her explain how she was affected by her father's death is heartbreaking.
"I was very conflicted when he passed because he was abusive," she said in her latest RUclips video. "He was mean, but he wanted to be a good person. And he wanted to have his family."

Yeah but they need to do some research before. Kinda shocked they didn’t get Father even though it is self explanatory lol.

This song feels to me like it was written straight from my soul. My dad was military and was always away. He came back from overseas and he was broken. He battled ptsd and manic depression and it beat him. Every day i miss him i love him and im furious at him. Its such a weird balance of emotions. Being so hurt and mad at someone that you love so much and cant hold a grudge against. Its crazy.

ANDPOP writer Merna Jibrail stated: "Fans of the pop-star all know that Demi hasn’t had the easiest relationship with her father, but that won’t stop her from writing another song that’ll have you in tears. This song sounds like the closing chapter of all she’s dealt with her father who passed away in 2013. It’ll have you inspired to close any gaps or deal with problems you have with your parents; we all mistakes. Have tissues nearby for this one

Las canciones conpuestas por un artista que sobrevivio a muchos feos momentos hace que se exprese asi y no tiene un porque , las penso .. al cantar y poner las notas son emocionales y del otro lado no importa si llega , pero respeta lo que significa no como lo canta .

This is sad, you obviously couldn’t grasp the meaning of the song , because you were hung up on what you think the song she wrote about her dead dad should sound like??? And I’m sorry but Demi is a power house, not everyone is going to have a soft smooth round voice, it makes her stand out and it’s why we love her!!! That loud powerful voice can sing anything from rock to gospel to r&b! Put some respect on her name!!!

The most disappointed I've ever been in a reaction lol it's her way of expressing herself! Her dad left her & her mom bcos he was an alchoholic. Her songs are mostly from personal experience. She was being expressive & was definitely not strained if you know anything about music. How you talked about the lyrics upsets me as well bcos you sound a bit ignorant there.
