I don't know HOW yunalesca didn't make this list. It was a fight that, to this day, was the hardest for me. Hellbiter, zombie, not knowing it was a 3 phase fight. Black waltz was always my favorite boss in FF9. The whole trilogy fight across disc 1 then at the beginning of disc 2 was amazing. Black waltz one being taken down by Zidane alone in the ice cavern, then again outside the village of Dali and finally aboard the airship to Lindblum. The fights during disc 1 were all iconic. Then we ultimately put it down during the train ride to Alexandria. It's so good and really paves the way for Vivi's story and the mystery behind the black mages.
Golbez in the dwarf castle was one of the most epic moments of my childhood, big bad shows up, you try to stop him and are wiped out... then suddenly the mist dragon shows up and this mysterious girl appears to help out (8 year old me didnt figure out it was Rydia immediatly). What a ride it was. FF7 Had a couple epic fights. Rufus vs. Cloud and Hojo at the end of the game were nuts. FF9 every fight with the Black Waltz or Beatrix were so hype.
Took me maaany attempts to beat the dolls/Golbez on my first couple play-throughs. Only time you actually fight Golbez, too, after he's kind of presented as the main antagonist throughout most of the game. So yeah, agree, definitely one of the most memorable bosses in the game. I think Seymour from X is the most iconic. He was the main villain for yuna’s arc, a reoccurring menace for the rest of the party and overshadowed jecht in lots of ways.
Barthandelus from FFXIII is very memorable as a boss and stuck out for many due to its spike in difficulty and requiring a strong understanding of the Paradigm System, but for me the battle against Cid Raines stood out more. Being the first chapter where you can fully choose your party, Chapter 10 really felt like a "put your skills to the test" chapter to see not only how much you've learned but also how well you can use your team when the game isn't choosing which characters you must use. Cid essentially acts as a wall in that test putting you through some relentless aggression with some unique battle gimmicks that don't get reimplemented with any other boss in this game, that you can either blaze through if you know his weaknesses, or just barely scrape by if you're still learning everything he's capable of. Also he's the only L'Cie you fight in the game which ends up being extremely cool since he does role changes just like the party.
And even for people like me who knew about him going in, he was a spectacle. Not to mention that first fight marks a MASSIVE turning point in the narrative. That first battle lives rent free in my head for all the right reasons.
I would have to say that Rubicante from Final Fantasy four was very iconic. He refused to do battle with the party, unless they were at their absolute best compared to every other boss that wanted to just straight out, kill them, regardless of how weak or strong they were.
In terms of required non-final bosses, I'd have to say Diamond Weapon is the pinnacle there for FF7. By the time Diamond appears, we've already had two major story instances that show the destructive power of the Weapons; Sapphire's attack on Junon, after the heroes were captured by Shinra, and the first fight against Ultima Weapon when he attacks and destroys Mideel. After these experiences, when Diamond shows up to start marching all the way from the northern continent to Midgard, repelling the Highwind across the entire ocean anytime you come close to it, you know something major is about to happen. Then you intercept it, and instead of a 3 round survival fight like with Ultima Weapon, you get a proper boss fight against a tough enemy that towers over you and deals a lot of damage. Only, when you beat him, you're not met with the red fade out and that classic warbling boss death sound. No, he looks around, sensing something, and marches past you. Cue one of the most epic cutscenes in the entire game. After moving the Junon cannon to Midgard, the Shinra higher ups prepare it to fire on Diamond. Alas, they can't ready it before the monster unleashed it's own barrage on Midgard, destroying much of the city, including Shinra Tower, in the process. Seeing the mako cannon blast through Diamond, a blast so powerful it sends the titanic monster flying back as it dies, and then watching that same bolt keep flying to destroy Sephiroth's shield at the northern crater was damn near the peak of spectacle on the PS1 at the time.
Black Waltz III, X-ATM092 and Ultros are absolutely the reasons I love to go back to 6, 8 and 9, either playing or rewatching their specific chapters, they're so captivating.
Yaaay i'm glad 16 made its entry here! Both titan and bahamut fights had me awestruck, jaw dropped to the floor, had to pause and unwind after the fight was over lol Eikonic!
It was something special. It was like being in control of a massive action set piece in a movie. I had to stop and recover for a bit after finishing it. I don't think I'll experience something like that in a game ever again.
Mine would be Golbez in the FF4 Remake. He did a great job of being an intimidating villain and the battle in the dwarf castle was one of if not the toughest fight in the whole game with Golbez wiping out everyone apart from Cecil and Rydia returning to help you fight him.
Another boss that became iconic in my mind was Ultima Weapon. It's first chronological appearance being in Final Fantasy 6, non-optional, although it became optional in other games in the series that it appeared in, and was a few times outclassed by Omega or Omega Weapon. The Final Fantasy 6 appearance did give me a few nightmares, and it had its own battle music which wasn't used again until fighting the Warring Triad Statues in the World of Ruin. Ultima Weapon was sometimes a required battle, and sometimes optional in other games, but had appearances in at least 7, 8, 10, and later post-game content of Final Fantasy 2. (And I am STILL a bit salty that not even ONE of the final boss battle phases in 16 was called "Ultima Weapon". Why not?!)
Ultima weapon and Omega are some of my favorite final fantasy bosses. I am not always able to beat them, but I do my best to at least fight them. The fight against Omega Weapon in ff12 was fantastic and I loved his description as an interdimensional weapon of war.
Even though he's been featured in a different list Weigraf from Tactics will always top this list as one of the hardest and most iconic fights. Even as someone who always used strategy guides, that didn't even prepare ou for that fight and having to face a party wipe or starting over was always hard to deal with.
As a 10 year old I was hard stuck on first the execution with gafgarion, then the gate with gafgarion I reset. Then wiegraf and veilus. And again the battle on the roof I believe against elmdor and the assains ( Elmdor is the vampire sepiroth guy ) That was the year I learned of multisaves
@@thirdplanet4471 I actually just skipped all that and attacked anyway and kept dying but eventually I figured out just to wait and then I barely beat him. Since than I learned.
Great list! I think I would have personally replaced Hell House from FF7 remake probably with Guardian Scorpion or Black Waltz III. But I cant complain about what's here. OAN: A great addition to your videos with the rankings would be a brady bunch-esque gif of the rankings at the end.
Black Waltz No. 3 is a good pick. All the reasons for him being on the list are what I consider him remaining a strong facet of the FF9's story, even if it isn't as major as later moments in the game.
With Guard Scorpion you missed one, It was brought back in Final Fantasy 14 as the Magitek Scorpion in the Ala Mhigo dungeon in the Stormblood expansion. The model is VERY close to that of the one used in FF7 Remake. Another dungeon called The Ghimlyt Dark uses the same model for one of the enemy encounters.
In FF8, in my experience using Siren in the first battle with the machine mentioned in this video, it made the battle last shorter for me. In that way I had more than enough time to head to the beach. In FFX, I always hated Seymour. And I was hoping in my first playthrough that I would battle him. I hated him that much. I throughly enjoyed battling him. I actually took it as a challenge.
If FF12 were to have one of its story bosses, I think it would be Gabranth. The entire game is leading up to this conflict and Basch and Vaan have a personal one with him. The whole boss section at the top of the pharos of ridorana is a huge story step and is a large climax at the end of a long dungeon. It feature major players like Gabranth and Cid, as well as a sad end to one of the most underrated and best guest characters in the series.
The fight between Risen Ifrit and Bahumut Zero was absolutely epic. I was literally on the edge of my seat cheering like an awe struck child. Man that game made me feel things in gaming I have not felt in literal decades. Yes the final chapter is a bit side quest heavy, the hunt board could of been better, and the equipment elements could of been improved.. but how anyone could hate on this is beyond me. The highs were so damn high the lows were hardly relevant.
I was having fun with the FF16 Bahamut fight, but I had never panicked and button mashed so hard in my life when I saw "Zettaflare" pop up on screen. I'm not fucking around with Donald Duck's strongest attack.
In FF14 Ultros also has a chance to make a cameo appearance in the GOld Saucer GATE minigame Air Force One. It's basically the Shooting Coaster from Final Fantasy 7, and during the ride on a balcony you have a chance to see Ultros, Godbert, or some other characters.
Here are 7 items from close spin offs I found to be the rarest in all the games! X-2 - Hero Drinks There are two ways to get hero drinks in the game and both come at the cost of fighting the main bosses. The quick way is to kill the 3 nodes that assist Vegnaguns Leg. You have to do this by not killing the leg! You can get up to 12-24 Hero Drinks this way. The other way is the actual final boss. He looks like you-know-who. You can still a hero drink off him. XIII-2 - Hypnocrowns (stack them when used for Synthesis) Some would say the Genji Gear would be the rarest. You can get 1 hypno-crown in the story but to get more you have to fight a rare monster called "Kanna Kamuv" at a 1% drop rate for the accessory. It is not that great of an accessory but for those who want durable or stack delicates need them. Tactics - Rubber Suits These are found by poaching. How is it rare? Well you have to poach Greater Hydras for a chance to show up in the poachers Den. You can even compare it to Genji Armor but almost every job can use rubber suits and there are fewer jobs that allow the use of Genji Armor. Lightning Returns - Pallas Athena or Meonekton Ω The garb Pallas Athena is only unlocked after getting the platinum trophy. This means almost every task or boss had to have been done in order to unlock. The Meonekton "Last One" will only spawn after 65,535 of its kind have been killed in 1 playthrough. It is far more easy to unlock this monster in a secret dungeon that forces you to fight all "last ones". Honorable Mentions from LR FFXIII Elixir and Double Deity Dirge of Cerberus - Ultima Weapon You first have to find the toy gun, then carry it to mission 10, then finally upgrading it with 200,000 gil to make the 2nd most powerful gun in the game. World of Final Fantasy - Maduin You have to do a the five cogno lords : Figaro side mission. There is a side quest where you have to kill all three enemies in 10 moves or less with 0 deaths on your side. The RNG is tricky but this drives players MADD! Type-0 - Super-Ribbon Only three ways to get this and it could be the rarest accessory. These are the way... Climb tower of agito 2 times for the chest to spawn 12.5% reward for climactic clash at azurr on finis difficultly Play over 500 hours and talk to a moggle at the school.
Garland from the original Final Fantasy was fairly iconic. While being the first boss in the game, we find out right at the end he was brought back in time by the fiends to become Chaos. Also in Dissidia he sounds like Piccolo.
I love this list, but the boss is FFIX should've been General Beatrix. Granted, she doesn't show up for the first time until the end of disc 1, but I think she's more representative of the type of game FFIX is than the Black Waltzes
Ya missed FFXIV's Guard Scorpion. It's the first boss in the Ala Mhigo dungeon in the Stormblood expansion. An npc even says the iconic "Attack while it's tail is up!" line just before you fight it, too.
I’d have to say that for FF8, both Edea and Adel were more iconic in the category of “mandatory non-final bosses” than the Galbadian robot tank, since the Sorceress lore was so pivotal to the FF8 universe. And Edea especially, since she is later revealed to be the party members’ former foster mother.
Not really what "iconic" means. We're talking awe inspiring, spine tingling, memorable, instantly recognizable, set-piece boss fights from the game, not "most important boss to the plot".
Ty Ty Ty for being *real af* and making Dion fight no1. I cried from the over stimulation - in phase one mind you- the whole from momma to space - that was and probably will always be *peak* ff for me and I have played nearly all of them. Indeed *peak* of all gaming experience - Soken made it that! Ascension ftw
I would honestly put the Plant Brain from Final Fantasy 9 (the first actual boss in the game in the Evil Forest)...not the most challenging boss for sure but the little chase scene and cutscene afterwards was one of the most iconic moments in FF for me.
I particularly like the Seymour flux and Black Waltz 3 fights due to their emotional impact on the characters, players, or story. Seymour boasting to Kimahri about killing all his people and asking how it feels to be the final Ronso, or Vivi flying into a blind fury and triggering his Trance state at seeing the other black mages slaughtered really hit the feels for me, and made them a couple of the best fights in those respective games. Along that same vein, Yunalesca being the turning point in ffx and how Yuna has to deal with the fact that her entire faith is a lie, or fighting Beatrix in Burmecia after she killed all the Burmecians, and subsequently having to fight her in later fights after realizing the absolute gulf in power between her and the party. Fighting Exdeath (not final boss Exdeath) when he kills Galuf is another one.
Me personally, I would give the Titan fight a nod over Bahamut just in terms of score. The guitar riffs alone got me pumped up while this mountain was doing everything to stop me.they were both the best fights of the whole game though.
For me most iconic boss is garuda (FFIII), what a plotwist, and need strategiesto take him down. arthos (FFVI) very fun, just like break fight from the main story. ultima weapon (FFVII)..Catching it around the sky is make it very unique fight. ATM 02 (FFVIII).. good sequence cat mouse catching. Marilith, tiamat, kraken, and chaos (FFIX).. just like travel to origin, give me think "wow!! From first FF to here. Gimme a break!", and much adrenaline if you are in speedrun or excalibur 2 challange, because the time so tight in here. sin (FFX)....good sequence fighting, full of blast mood when we success to fall the part of its body. Dr. Cid (FFXII).. EPIC BATTLE. Need smart strategies, epic stories especialy at the top of ridhorana cataract. Leviathan (FFXV)...WOW atmosphere!! But remembring me when i took down one of the collosus in SOTC.
the video was quite good, but I differ on the number one, though it wasnt a bad one, and its certainly the most iconic battle of the game for me too, I dont think its a number one spot. The number one spot should have been Garland from FF1, RPGs werent a lengthy thing back then, you fight him thinking the game will be over soon, but not only did it not, but also it also required a strategy back then, if you didnt have someone tu cure you, the battle was done before it even began lol plus it develops quite further and deepens so much that nowadays we are still enjoying FF games thanks to the development and how iconic Garland was at the beginning of everything.
THANK YOU for the Garland shoutout! I definitely mentioned him being the literal first boss of FF history, so he's really the one who starts off the entire franchise. Plus the man becomes the final beast -- I mean boss in FFI. Can't deny that without him and the success of FFI, there wouldn't be any Final Fantasies.
Aww no mention of the Guard Scorpion appearance in FF14, where they even took a jab at the mistranslated tutorial about the tail counter attack (which sadly wasn't mentioned either, part of why it was memorable imo).
Oh man, I forgot about the Demon Wall ones! Yeah, that fight is insane, considering you have to kill it before it kills you...Kinda like a Tonberry but worse.
Did Gilgamesh dirty putting it under the Guard Scorpion, but I don’t hate this list. I think Cecil’s paladin fight should have been number 1 though. It redefined fight encounters for me
I thought Gilgamesh would've been the first one tbh. I forgot about pretty much all the others (or never played the game due to not having the system). I remembered Ultros from the PSP version of FFI (I know it's not his game but still, he's a fight you CAN face, along with Typhon), as well as Black Waltz III just from the name and shots shown here, but forgot about the robots from 7 and 8. it's been that long, lol. Scarmiglione (first Archfiend + Cecil's paladin fight) was a good one! Tbh, 4 was one of my faves to play at times. Though I liked Golbez and Cecil, so there was definite bias. xD
i thought Black Waltz No. 3 becoming the final boss in FF IX would have been interesting. after a couple of failures to capture Garnet he realizes he needs to become more powerful and starts absorbing the other Black Waltz, causing him to transform a little every time he does. he becomes more unstable and insane as his power grows. he gives up on his mission to capture Garnet and wants to become the most powerful being in the world instead so his attention turns to Vivi. after discovering that you're all hiding out with the other black mages he arrives to capture Vivi. as he has your team on the ropes and is about to absorb Vivi the other black mages step in and gives your team a window to escape. from a great distance you see a bright light coming from there and in the next scene you see he's absorbed all of the black mages who were there and is transforming again but don't see into what. Kuja shows up in rough shape and you find out that he's turned on the queen and has wiped the floor with Kuja. Kuja offers whatever power he has left to Vivi and Vivi reluctantly accepts it. the next time you see Black Waltz No. 3, he looks more human-like. you can imagine where the story could go from there.
Gilgamesh’s backstory and riftwalking 100% lines up and is probably the method that leads to us encountering him in FF7 Rebirth through some protorelic interaction and entering into a rift or letting him through one.
Final Fantasy VI: Phantom Train Final Fantasy VII: Hojo Final Fantasy VIII: Seifer (Lunatic Pandora) and Dollet Robot from Disc 1 mission Final Fantasy IX: All Beatrix fights Final Fantasy X: Seymour Flux Final Fantasy VII Remake: Hell House
I always wondered if it was always Seymour's plan to become sin and if it wasn't at what point did his plans change? He went out of his way to slay monsters In front of everyone to look like a hero. Then he helped supply machine weapons to the crusaders as a middle man for the Albed. To me it seemed like he really tried to be viewed as a hero failed and then killed. He truly gave into nihilism after becoming a fiend and we know fiends are corrupted versions of the original person with a few exceptions.
I think it was always his plan to become Sin, ever since he learned its nature when he became a Maester. And his plan with the machine weapons was to demonstrate that they wouldn't work. Yes, he tried to be seen as a hero, but that was likely so that he could accompany a young Summoner to Zanarkand to become their Final Aeon.
If you're referring to Ba'Gamnan's crew, technically they're optional to fight. Unless you're talking about the three Seeq in Nalbina Dungeon. I wouldn't call either the most iconic of FF12. I'd give that to Gabranth or Dr Cid.
Am I weird for saying that Garland has to be iconic on his own right? He is literally the very first boss fight in Final Fantasy, and becomes the final boss. Without Garland and the success of FFI, we wouldn't even have characters like Sephiroth who are known for being some of the most iconic characters in the entire franchise! ;D Golbez was another of mine that I liked, but I do have bias toward certain games. :P I hadn't played 9, but I gotta say I totally forgot about Black Waltz III...Gah, definitely a cool looking character! :o
I think you missed something, I'm pretty sure there's a boss in Final Fantasy XIV that's basically the guard scorpion. It's one of the stormblood bosses but I can't remember exactly which one

And again the battle on the roof I believe against elmdor and the assains ( Elmdor is the vampire sepiroth guy )
That was the year I learned of multisaves
Weigraf and Gafgarion are easily the most memorable encounters of Tactics and my first thoughts when I started this video.
Sucks for the people that were told to attack the Guard Scorpion
That 70 damage would destroy a level 1 party.
I hate that cloud starts by saying attack whilst it's tail is up" and the warns about he lightning. Half the time I only read the first half.
@@thirdplanet4471 I actually just skipped all that and attacked anyway and kept dying but eventually I figured out just to wait and then I barely beat him. Since than I learned.
Shout out to the Scorpion Sentinel DLC level in PowerWash Simulator. It's almost as imposing an enemy to clean as it is to fight.
For me in FFXVI, Titan Lost was the stand out fight, I spent the rest of the game fearing another fight would beat it (it was close).
Great list! I think I would have personally replaced Hell House from FF7 remake probably with Guardian Scorpion or Black Waltz III. But I cant complain about what's here.
OAN: A great addition to your videos with the rankings would be a brady bunch-esque gif of the rankings at the end.
I personally felt like the battle with Rufus on the top of the Shinra buildings was epic in the Remake.
For me Air Buster is more iconic than the Guard Scorpion
An npc even spouts out the iconic "Attack while it's tail is up!" line just before you fight it.
@@eddypeacock4005
Fair enough. You can clean it in some free DLC for that Power Wash Simulator game.
@@kurisu7885
I was surprised they didn't throw in a giant cactuar on here 😅
@@eddypeacock4005
That would have been hilarious.
Weigraf in FF:T he can be a brick wall boss if you're not careful but boy does he stick out.
Was my brick wall and made me quit playing didn't know I didn't have a prior save or even needed one was stuck
3:40 Hold the freaking phone, how is Rinoa in the Dollet mission??? Where did this footage come from!?
Dawg! The boss to retrieve Vincent is so unique too!
Braska’s Final Aeon :) Technically fits.
The boss of Seat of Sacrifice in FFXIV definitely deserves to be here. I shook my house with my screaming when it was revealed
I was shaking after the Bahamut fight in FF16, never had I ever experienced this level of adrenaline rush in any Final Fantasy game.
That exactly was my favorite battle too.
That was the best part of the game.
I was having fun with the FF16 Bahamut fight, but I had never panicked and button mashed so hard in my life when I saw "Zettaflare" pop up on screen. I'm not fucking around with Donald Duck's strongest attack.
Apologies for the pun, but that last one was definitely “Eikonic”.
We saw those lizards from XII a bit in that game and Revenant Wings, G'gamnan of whatever his name was.
Here are 7 items from close spin offs I found to be the rarest in all the games!
X-2 - Hero Drinks
There are two ways to get hero drinks in the game and both come at the cost of fighting the main bosses. The quick way is to kill the 3 nodes that assist Vegnaguns Leg. You have to do this by not killing the leg! You can get up to 12-24 Hero Drinks this way.
The other way is the actual final boss. He looks like you-know-who. You can still a hero drink off him.
XIII-2 - Hypnocrowns (stack them when used for Synthesis)
Some would say the Genji Gear would be the rarest. You can get 1 hypno-crown in the story but to get more you have to fight a rare monster called "Kanna Kamuv" at a 1% drop rate for the accessory. It is not that great of an accessory but for those who want durable or stack delicates need them.
Tactics - Rubber Suits
These are found by poaching. How is it rare? Well you have to poach Greater Hydras for a chance to show up in the poachers Den. You can even compare it to Genji Armor but almost every job can use rubber suits and there are fewer jobs that allow the use of Genji Armor.
Lightning Returns - Pallas Athena or Meonekton Ω
The garb Pallas Athena is only unlocked after getting the platinum trophy. This means almost every task or boss had to have been done in order to unlock. The Meonekton "Last One" will only spawn after 65,535 of its kind have been killed in 1 playthrough. It is far more easy to unlock this monster in a secret dungeon that forces you to fight all "last ones".
Honorable Mentions from LR FFXIII
Elixir and Double Deity
Dirge of Cerberus - Ultima Weapon
You first have to find the toy gun, then carry it to mission 10, then finally upgrading it with 200,000 gil to make the 2nd most powerful gun in the game.
World of Final Fantasy - Maduin
You have to do a the five cogno lords : Figaro side mission. There is a side quest where you have to kill all three enemies in 10 moves or less with 0 deaths on your side. The RNG is tricky but this drives players MADD!
Type-0 - Super-Ribbon
Only three ways to get this and it could be the rarest accessory. These are the way...
Climb tower of agito 2 times for the chest to spawn
12.5% reward for climactic clash at azurr on finis difficultly
Play over 500 hours and talk to a moggle at the school.
The Scorpion Sentinel also appeared in the Midgard free DLC for Power wash Simulator, so it's iconic status transcend the series now 😂
Ya missed FFXIV's Guard Scorpion.
Seifer too.
Seifer for sure due to his killing a GF though the tank was well known thanks to the Demo making hype
I don’t know. I remember the first time I killed it. It’s a very fond memory
Not really what "iconic" means. We're talking awe inspiring, spine tingling, memorable, instantly recognizable, set-piece boss fights from the game, not "most important boss to the plot".
Ultros is so iconic!
Leviathan from FFXV ahould also be in consideration. It was, at the time, the most epic boss fight i had seen in the series
11:00 Guard Scorpion also appeared in FF14 as a lvl 70 dungeon boss, also named as Magitek Scorpion
9:48 Not quadrupedal, as that implies four legs. That thing is hexapedal.
The iconic fights of my childhood are Cecil versus himself, Bikke’s Pirates, and Gafgarion at the execution grounds.
In FF8, when Seifer sliced Odin....hooo boy
Me personally, I would give the Titan fight a nod over Bahamut just in terms of score. The guitar riffs alone got me pumped up while this mountain was doing everything to stop me.they were both the best fights of the whole game though.
The Guard Scorpion also appears in FFXIV as a dungeon first boss in Stormblood expansion
The guard scorpion also appears in XIV, in one of Stormblood’s dungeons.
The FFVII demo I played did have the guard scorpion and gave you the titan summon as well.
I'll always stand by the Rubicante battles from 4
the video was quite good, but I differ on the number one, though it wasnt a bad one, and its certainly the most iconic battle of the game for me too, I dont think its a number one spot.
Ultros also appeared as a boss in Chocobo's Dungeon 2 on the Sony PlayStation!
I would have said Demon Wall over Red Scorpion. Still gives me nightmares when ready to face it
Oh man, I forgot about the Demon Wall ones! Yeah, that fight is insane, considering you have to kill it before it kills you...Kinda like a Tonberry but worse.
and you fight it like right after Red Dragon no less
FF8: XATM092
Me: Metal crab
FF8 Edea with her theme song is the definition of ICONIC
Can you imagine a situation where you are on your adventure, and a savage purple octopus starts roasting you? It's pretty funny if you think about it
The Titan fight in FF 16 was absolutely bonkers. One of my favorites the series has ever produced.
The fight from XVI looks cool and all, but I just can't get over watching it and thinking it looks more like Devil May Cry than Final Fantasy.
Gaurd Scorpion is also the first boss in Ala Mhigo dungeon in FFXIV as well.
Great video as i se some people felt the same way i do about those boss battles.
Ahhh ff8, so many memories. Dollet, the first mission, first hard bosses, great cinematics, Rinoa. No wait... Rinoa?? 🧐 3:44
Think she replaced Selphie in the demo
Though I liked Golbez and Cecil, so there was definite bias. xD
Feel like the Dark Knight in ff4 should be on there. Polt wise it's one of the most important points in the whole series and is SUPER iconic
i thought Black Waltz No.
Saw the title, thought... Ultros?
Wasn't disappointed.
Beatrix from FF9 was my favourite set-piece boss
Ultros can be a very nasty roadblock when doing low/no XP runs, Tentacles can easily one-shot an under-leveled Bannon.
Gilgamesh’s backstory and riftwalking 100% lines up and is probably the method that leads to us encountering him in FF7 Rebirth through some protorelic interaction and entering into a rift or letting him through one.
Surprised you didn't mention the Scorpion tank in FFXIV, since it's a boss in one of the Stormblood Main Story Quest Dungeons.
Ultros was also in Chocobo's Dungeon 2.
Final Fantasy VI: Phantom Train
Final Fantasy VII: Hojo
Final Fantasy VIII: Seifer (Lunatic Pandora) and Dollet Robot from Disc 1 mission
Final Fantasy IX: All Beatrix fights
Final Fantasy X: Seymour Flux
Final Fantasy VII Remake: Hell House
I'm still waiting for that belt video.
3:34 that damned spider walled my run on FF8 as a kid. OWNED it years later on my re-try, but dammit i HATED that thing!! :P
Demon Wall not being on here is a travesty!
Top ten action-packed fmvs, please.
Seymour was one of the only bosses I didn't care for, was easy to beat and couldn't stand how he gave stranger danger vibe but was no challenge
Don't you mean hexapodal, not quadrupedal?
Where is the Hellhouse? 😂😂
I can't believe the fight between ramza and velius didn't make it. That's kind of sad 😢
Or when you had to fight zalbag.
I'm surprised Golbez wasn't included
I dont think ive ever disagreed with one of FF Unions videos as much as I have with this one.. but thats the beauty of life. Different opinions
I'm surprised the banga trio from ff12 didn't make the list
If you're referring to Ba'Gamnan's crew, technically they're optional to fight. Unless you're talking about the three Seeq in Nalbina Dungeon. I wouldn't call either the most iconic of FF12. I'd give that to Gabranth or Dr Cid.
Am I weird for saying that Garland has to be iconic on his own right? He is literally the very first boss fight in Final Fantasy, and becomes the final boss. Without Garland and the success of FFI, we wouldn't even have characters like Sephiroth who are known for being some of the most iconic characters in the entire franchise! ;D
Golbez was another of mine that I liked, but I do have bias toward certain games. :P I hadn't played 9, but I gotta say I totally forgot about Black Waltz III...Gah, definitely a cool looking character! :o
Cúchulainn from Tactics would be perfect for this list.
Toneri felt like Naruto's attempt at replicating Seymour.
We all love Greg! Best character in ffxiv.
How can you not think of hellhouse from remake!? What a boss! Hard as shit, too
7:35 AND STAY UP THERE
I think you missed something, I'm pretty sure there's a boss in Final Fantasy XIV that's basically the guard scorpion. It's one of the stormblood bosses but I can't remember exactly which one
Ala Mhigo -dungeon's first boss.
