Seen her with her band a dozen times. Seen her with Vilray a handful of times. She never, ever disappoints. She's never missed a note. Truly remarkable talent.
It warms my heart to see Vilray excelling like this. I hear that he wasn't widely recognized for years and even gave up on music at one point?? but it's fantastic that his talent is bring appreciated now! And of course, Rachael and John are both fantastic as always! :)
Stephen mentioned this in passing during the swaped interview with John Oliver, and I looked it up and immediately fell in love with it. Very cool he got them on!
I only know of them because Colbert shouted them out a few months ago! Went and looked them up, was really impressed. So it made me smile to see that they're performing on Colbert's show - must be a thrill for all 3!
For those who have first discovered Rachael tonight, look up Lake Street Dive- “you go down smooth.” Your life won’t be the same after listening to that track.
I wish these musical segments would get more views. Every single one I’ve seen has been a banger. Whether it’s billy Joel, the weekend,Nathaniel Ratliff or Jon by himself.
Wow, I sure enjoyed the musical guests tonight. Wonderful performance by Rachael & Vilray. But as a performer myself... I'm sure that John B. wishes he had a second take on his solo. Should never be too cocky not to run through at least once.
Rachael Price is one of the best singers of her generation, hands down. Her voice is otherworldly.

Beautiful that Colbert finally brought them on, since he's previously mentioned his love of this song.
Do you happen to remember the video in which he mentioned it?

@@neilbotelho hello fellow neil, it was the flipped interview with john oliver in oct. 2019 i just came here from that video
Is there anything Jon Batiste can't do? He's a musical treasure!
Really, and he is so funny. Talented guy.
He’s an everything treasure.
Any idea which harmonium he’s playing?
Never heard them until now. What a lovely song.

This song will always hold a very special place in my heart. My husband and I danced our first dance to this song at our wedding in October.
Vilray is really laying the foundation of this tune with his extremely tasteful rhythm guitar. To sing harmony on top of that is really something.
Seen these two live several times, they're amazing. Rachael's also in a band called Lake Street Dive that is also great.
Stephen Colbert mentioned he listens to this song during his "First Date" with John Oliver...
Dev Desai he got them!!
I have been listening to her for near 10 years. She's only more talented now if that's even possible
Hypnotically beautiful.
Felt like a warm dream of yesterday’s sunshine
I heard them for the first time on jools Holland's hootenanny brilliant vocals and harmonies. Like stepping back in time 👍
Snap, stunning song...notice on both performances you could hear a pin drop in the audience. Fab.
Stephen mentioned this in passing during the swaped interview with John Oliver, and I looked it up and immediately fell in love with it. Very cool he got them on!
Love their music and the warm, friendly vibes these two give off together. Very pleasant and very French sounding.
I only know of them because Colbert shouted them out a few months ago! Went and looked them up, was really impressed. So it made me smile to see that they're performing on Colbert's show - must be a thrill for all 3!
This belongs in a Wes Anderson movie soundtrack.
How lovely.
A scene at an outdoor café at sunrise
Been watching Vilray's videos online for years, so nice to see him play a late night show. He deserves all the TV spots with his wonderful vibes
For those who have first discovered Rachael tonight, look up Lake Street Dive- “you go down smooth.” Your life won’t be the same after listening to that track.

I don’t want to get political, but this is the music that will truly Make America Great Again
You are on a Colbert vid and you don't want to get political? LOLOL
Irony has been strong today, my friend. LOL
I wonder if it’s difficult for her to perform so understatedly.
Anyone know what mic they're using on the vocals?
Follow Vilray on Instagram....he talks about his equipment a lot
So awkward seeing Stephen not shake the guests hands lol
God I miss the fallout games...
Hello!
" As, your ships Captain, i want the passengers to know, that we'll be speeding toward the closest iceburg as soon as possible...".
