Head transplant + human tissue cloning = immortality?
Saying something is one thing.
Doing it is more than that over.
Just do it. Hehehe
***** Unless Futurama head jars become a thing.
Flintstoned If it bleeds, we can kill it.
Flintstoned really waiting for that thing.
Until the head wears out
Damn can you imagine horror a person who got decapitated must of felt for those few conscious moments? I'm sure they probably think they would die instantly but imagine your head gets cut off and you are still conscious of everything. That's the stuff of nightmares.
*have
Imagine being hit by a fucking train on the tracks.
WOAH! 110+mph just RAMMING into you. You would be conscious for them few nanoseconds.
I bet that the immense pain from the severed tissue and spine vertebrae will give you such a shock that you would feel like instantly fainting. Any movements in your face would be just uncontrolled twitching from the crazy nerves not being able to process what's going on..
This is Hell
I read about a serial killer who was about to be beheaded and he was happy because he thought he might be able to hear his own blood squirting out, story time is fun
I'm surprised the headless chicken wasn't mentioned.
Mike the Headless Chicken! I lived in Fruita, Colorado, the home and final resting place of Mike. We even have a festival for him every year!
Haha I love your display pic man. You just made my girlfriend totally shit herself, It was amazing.
Totally made my day.
That is technically the Body staying alive more than the head, but yeah, I was thinking about the same thing.
actually the *faceless chiken
Or the *BONELESS* one
I've been bodyless for 60 years now. The jar I'm in is very comfortable and the rent is cheap.
Poes Law i am in your neighouring jar
You _rent_ your jar? 🤨 🤦
this is something creed from the office would say
Do you have a personal assistant to write stuff for you?
How did you type this? Cuz thats honestly kinda impressive
Remembering the poor souls which are victims of ISIS. RIP
yup RIP..
Kent piss off... you're just fishing for likes
kent like fishing
Kent And victims of the Cartel
I wonder: Are the supporters of isis just as much to blame for isis atrocities as the terrorist isis individuals?
If so, clinton is, by definition, a terrorist.
clinton is a terrorist. And she served under a president that is extremely silent about his affiliations with certain groups and refuses to release his education transcripts.
If Americans only knew what they elected into the presidency...
i mean...stricly speaking, wouldnt it be a body transplant?
but doesn't head transplant sounds lighter than body transplant?
Not really because the brain is the more important part here.
Chad Sykes Yeah I mean it's you, it's literally the most important part of your body.
I think your right because it is the body that has stopped functioning
GheyForGames Oh, let's not split hairs when we're cutting off heads. Pun intended.
So, if you are being guillotined facing down and you keep your eyes open, you will see the floor approaching as your head is falling down.
whez08 Why did you say that? Omg so creepy!
yeah most likely what a terrible last sight site.
Not the floor--you get one final chance to admire a wicker basket from up close.
yes i would suppose you would feel like you are falling instead of counsciously know you are beheaded, damn that is so doomy
whez08 In the Reign of Terror, you could see a big basket already full of heads jump up & hit you in the face. :D
The answer: about 15 seconds.
Salem Baron thx men
Bruno Brbic You are welcome.
Correction:
About 4 seconds if decapitated*
About 15 seconds if the heart stops beating.
Zycan Agario No after 15 seconds being decapitated your heart stops beating.
If your head is no longer attached to your body, it is irrelevant when your heart stops. Correction stands: 4 seconds after decapitation.
Thanks for the "heads" up ;)

why don't they do these experiments on humans that are on death row
Marten Homma Yeah, that's what I always thought. They're gonna die anyway, most of them are mass murderers and whatnot so if they die a painful death, they most likely deserve it.
Marten Homma What? Like in Human Centipede 3?
Hendlton Yeah at least they would finally benefit to society and help save lives.
Marten Homma They do do some experiments on death row prisoners (with their consent, of course). Unfortunately... or maybe very fortunately, depending on your point of view... we don't execute enough people to meet the demands of science.
***** Damn, that's harsh! "We could have discovered a cure for your disease, but we didn't want to have to posthumously say thank you to a bad person."
"If there's something you're *DYING* to know"
I see what you did there
@Dinetion I don't know about you but I've had it with this pandemic. Just want the hookers to get back to work already, tired of having sex with the wife.
@Dinetion hey baby
A woman was decapitated by my house this afternoon and I cannot imagine the whole situation. That is totally inhumane.
Wth!? Why?
Got any questions you want us to answer?
why do we fart?
DNews Can too much sexual activity damage or harm the brain?
What was before the Big Bang
DNews would a ple/nocebo still work if you think whatever you take may be a ple/nocebo?
Why do we feel bored?
I know it's for the advancement of science, but the experiment with the mice is pretty damn twisted. :(

well it's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it lol
Use humans with no pain receptors

At least Menegele and Unit 731 can argue they were a long time ago; what's these scientists' excuse? ¬_¬
Explain how did the heads in the Head Museum in New York CIty are still alive in the Futurama
Pau Carvalho they use powdered crystalline opal to put the head in a time stasis bubble.
Explanation in the show Itself during "All the Presidents Heads" episode.
Alec Cox I'm glad to find someone here who also watches Futurama
Pau Carvalho lmao! This isn't just watching my friend, it's a religion anymore. I'm like fifth time through of an almost back-to-back marathon of all seasons and movies.
Alec Cox hahah me too I like those kind of cartoons
Definitely a really good one. I like whit, it definitely has a lot of that.
There was a chicken that lives 2 years without it's head, it survived because it's brain stem was untouched during the beheading however it did lose a large majority of it's fore brain.

Urketadic best marketing ever
Sure, why would one write more than 100 papers and hold more than 300 speeches on medical conferences on the topic? Considering that all of these would cost Konami a hell lot of money with low profit chances (the medical community is not known for its gaming activity). And why would a renowed neurosurgeon waste his career? You would have to pay him aproximately 50 mil USD considering that the salary for a good experienced neurosurgeon is at about 1 mil. USD a year and that this surgeon would still work 20 years. The development cost of the game are at about 89 mil USD. So the idea that this is a marketing scheme is ridiculous although there are similarities beetween the character in trailer and this doctor.
skyx12435 Sarcasm, dude.
skyx12435 Because he's not actually a renowned surgeon.
I remember my 6th grade teacher told us a story about a man of science back in the day who was to be beheaded so he decided to make it an experiment. He asked his assistant to watch his head after it was decapitated and count how many times he would blink. So as he was being beheaded he kept blinking quickly and once his head was off the assistant counted 5-6 blinks from his decapitated head.
I'm not sure how true that story is though lol.
It's true but it was 15 blinks
for a moment I thought it was your teacher who got decapitated😭
Dammit I'm watching this at 11pm

Here is an even more disturbing thought, maybe you're conscious for a few seconds after decapitation but you're deaf and blind for those last few seconds of your life due to lack of blood flow.
Hearings the last thing to go if you die naturally. Dying is rarely without suffering of some sort and it usually lasts longer than a few seconds.
A old man 👴 once told me when someone is dying and you are still pushing for life it's called spinning a strong 💪🏽 will that has to be the worst feeling ever especially knowing it's your last no matter the motion that you could be feeling no matter the scenario
We should save the mice and do the experiments with the politicians.
Tyler Durden Or lawyers! Or IRS agents! Or those terrorists still at Gytmo!
Tyler Durden> We should save the mice and do the experiments with the politicians.
You're stuck in the 90's man, stop making soap and look around; there's a lot more viable candidates these days.
poor mice
Mayor Dewey Are you here just to get us to vote for you?
Mayor Dewey as long as we eat living things we don't really have much right to talk. Even a vegetable has a brain and feelings.
Red Bird Yeah no plants may still react to their environment but are extremely far from having feelings, let alone conscious thought...
Red Bird well I dont eat living this so I have the right to feel bad but where is a vegetables brain last time I cut one open I didn't see it bleed
Jake Beadle ***** There has been experiments on a certain plant type that reacts to its enviroment. And when dropped on the floor would close up, however, after being dropped on the floor a couple times it learnt that when dropped, it didn't need to close up. In other words, the plant learned something. So, plants don't have feelings or conscious thought, AS FAR AS WE KNOW. Humans don't know everything, there is still much to learn.
My grandma was terrified of things like this. She made me promise that I wouldn't let my mom cremate her. She was afraid she'd feel it.
Then she was upset she might get buried alive. She asked to be buried with a bell. I told her I'd bury her with her phone. That made her happy. And I did bury her with it. I promised.
This is science staying one step ahead....
What I tell my wife every night:
"Give me head or give me divorce!"
You know, you CAN sue for lack of emotional support from a wife if she withholds sex from you... 🤔
this information could save my life, thanks.
This is literally the first thing I can vividly remember wondering about (my older cousin said some strange stuff to me when I was little) but Google wasn't around back then so I guess I just wrote it off as one of life's little mysteries. Thank you so much for this, and for proving that life's little mysteries are all dead.
Wow, I read that story of the decapitated man in 1905 responding to his name 10 years ago, when I was a kid. Somehow feels good to remember.
This is almost destined to fail horribly, yet I'm finding myself very much anticipating the results of this. I just hope the patient is going to be relatively fine afterwards....
Nope. Once you are decapitated you are no longer in the body. The body can twitch all it wants, but consciousness has left the building.
Anyone here after AOT s4 episode 19?
That's why I'm here
Amy it's so good to see you sharing your celebrity self on other channels also
If the person who is decapitated is still conscious,do they still feel the pain for the last few seconds left before blacken out forever?
And is it the cut off head or the headless body feels it has been decapitated?
I wanna know what is the meaning of life
I had a past life memory where I had my head was chopped off. This is basically what you experience when your head is completely severed from your body---you see red. It's that simple. Your sight is now gone, and everything turns solid blood red, then you lose consciousness.
So you lived in a past life??
@@kahootissecretlymaya1439 About 10 of them. It not a big deal really. Remembering a past life is like remembering an event from your life, eg, a birthday, when you got married, etc.
With hands already having been transplanted successfully its not a far stretch but it is also a different entity altogether and is closer to impossible then probable for the time being. Medical Science will always impress me with stuff like this.
I'd like to think that if you attach the severed head to a pump that would keep supplying it with oxygenated blood with nutrients, the head could survive indefinitely. They could experiment on death row inmates to find out.
I've always told people that logically people would still be conscious for at least a couple seconds after, good to know there is evidence backing this obvious idea up.
It's 2:30 in the morning, and I'm watching a video about how long you can survive after having your head cut off. I need reconsider my life a bit.
August 17th 2015...
I assume the primal screams of terror from the intro haven't stopped yet?
If we took a recently detached head and hooked it up to a machine that pumped oxygenated/nutrient filled blood through the head and into the brain, what's keeping the head/person from staying alive?
I'm surprised that a headless chicken wasn't mentioned in his video.
Decapitating mice to satisfy a bit of curiosity. In the field of animal experimentation sociopaths have a distinct employment advantage.
Yeah, go fuck yourself.
I am an advocate for the retarded and I applaud your attempts at written communication.
Rmx6199 I'm a jerk because I think people who decapitate mice to satisfy curiosity are sociopaths? Or I am a jerk because I insult somebody who tells me, for no stated reason, to go fuck myself?
Rmx6199 Why are you such a jerk? (no need to answer, its just a rhetorical question)
They study animals so they can help you. Not that hard to understand, right?
So if you cut off someone head with a scolding blade will it cauterize the neck keep blood in long enough to survive longer?
So does decapitated mean fully severed from the body or can it still be partially attached to the body, if not what would you call a head partially still attached to the body
Poor mice, everything is being experimented on them, I couldn't do that.
Mice/rodents are extremely overpopulated, and are mostly considered a bad thing, or a problem, so it's basically population control. Don't feel bad for them.
I feel bad for the flies that everyone is squishing
Uhm, no. They are grown specificaly for that, they dont actually reduce the population that is causing the plague, so is not population control. Yet, they are just mice, raise for that purpose.
I feel bad for the millions of bacteria that dies everytime somebody uses hand sanitizer.
Do it on whichever animal has the higher population
Served dog head experiments by Sergei Brukhonenko comes to mind with this video.
A Piece Of Cheese its just so creepy
immediately what I thought of.
vVSaintZVv
yeah, just look at the major achievements in biological science in Hitler's reign... it's just so weird that the worst thing brought around so much good, it just doesn't seem to make much sense
..."served" to whom?
Oh my god. Once in kindergarten, one kid told me when you get shot in the heart, you have 15 seconds to live and if you get your head gets cut off, you can live for 5 seconds. hOW DID HE KNOW?!
The questions on here are just unreal...
Those poor mice 😭😭😭 I love mice so this breaks my heart to hear that
Imagine the last 4 seconds you see your loved ones faces in absolute terror. There screams slowly being drown out by the loss of the brain function. Horrible feeling as your last.
Thanks for the heads up.
How long can someone survive being cut in calf at the waste and how?
I would wink at my killer Freddy Krueger-style before finally passing on to give him the idea that I might haunt him. IF I'm not completely stunned by shock
Need to learn how to clean internet history in 4 seconds...
if a head is severed and you blow up its esophagus, will it speak?
As soon as you lose blood pressure you are out, some people pass out or faint with their heads still attached, so I say you are only conscious for a spilt second, your head is still alive but you are knocked out
Buddy Heath If your heart is beating real fast & your body's full of adrenaline waiting for them to cut off your head, you might stay conscious for longer with your brain super-oxygenated.
What crime did the mice do to get their heads chopped off?
Stealing cheese from Tom
Jason Kinnear They where Kufar mice 😂
Liberals 😒
michael52711 They want to unrealistically save everything. Pussies...
+AirFlow Everything but cis white men.
People,do not lose your heads!
And now here we are months away from the first head transplant
If the body is younger than the head, than does the age difference between body and head even out? Are telomeres in cells of the head also affected by this?
Forget about mice, scientists could just go to Saudi Arabia for a large sample of severed human heads to interview for their experiments.
sounds like futurama
*No*
*EDIT:* I thought you said something else
*Yes*
get back to moddb bitch
thank you Dnews, now i cant sleep anymore.....
The ethical issue with a head transplant goes beyond rejection. For the body to be sound it would have to be a case of brain death, but consciousness is more of a gradient with people having recovered from a complete loss of consciousness in the past enough to talk about how they were aware of their surroundings and unable to act. The cold water test used to determine brain death is also prone to error since they rely not on a measure of brain activity, but rather an indication that the patient reacts to stimuli. As a result of this numerous cases have arisen where patients have woken up on the organ harvest table while many others showed physiological symptoms of extreme pain and anxiety. As a result of this lawsuits have been filed alleging the majority of harveste individuals can recover and experience pain as tgey are harvested. My overall concern led me to contact the organ donor registry asking if I can place a condition that I would be subjected to neural scans prior to organ harvest in case of brain death, and even stated that i have the equipment required to make such a determination, and they refused. Given that I can't help but wonder if the donor is aware as they are being decapitated and if so how the stress hormones impact survival of the head.
I'm also curious about how social issues like reproduction would tie in. If they have children would it really be theirs? Would they be responsible for child support of children brain prior to the transfer similar to how courts have ruled rape victims were responsible fir child support? And in case of a brain transplant (rather than whole head) how might this impact Transgender? And if a brain was placed in a much younger body would it live longer? Like could a grown man have his brain placed within a little girl body (there's at least one public case where a man identifies as one) and given how parents have in the past been court ordered to allow organ donation could parents legally do anything about an adult wanting their child's face? And if it was allowed how old would they be? The age of the brain or body?
OK. Raise of hands. How many of you started rubbing your own neck when watching this video?
+eeluminarty lmao ikr
***** I was just staring blankly.
Impossible today is common place tomorrow.
Generally, impossible is applied to the meaning that it couldn't happen because of a scientific law preventing such. Part of the definition of a scientific law is that it never changes, therefore if it's impossible today, it will be impossible tomorrow. Or I'm just a lone sap trying to sound smart for attention.
LevelCrunch
True, however Science is always changing, what we understand today is likely going to be wrong tomorrow or at least ways around it.
True, can't argue with that. I know what you meant.
The next logical question then;
what law prevents head transplants?
We used to believe spontaneous generation was a thing.. surely we can be wrong again
Most places have laws against abusing a corpse
Gives new meaning to Voltron - I'll form the head.
Since you have about 4-5 seconds of consciousness after decapitation.. would you feel pain in those 4-5 seconds?
This girl is far too comfortable around the concept of humans having their heads cut off...
It's kind of hot.
FR
No matter what, I still don't like how scientists treat animals. I don't like mice but I wouldn't decapitate them for any reason.
even if the data obtained leads to life saving medical procedures?
@@dogdjinn it is justified in some cases, but I don't think figuring out how long you can live without your head is one of them.
Why was Glenn's body moving after his head was grinded by Negan in the The Walking Dead?

Water in outer-space. Would it evaporate first or freeze?
so your saying if my heart stops ill still be conscious for 15 seconds or more, that's scary....

Shouldn't the body head transplant be tested on mice first, Why is a human the first test subject. I was expecting to hear some form of success in transplanting animal heads first, the whole thing is so questionable.
***** There was a monkey head transplant, it was somewhat successful but not fully. I don't remember what exactly happened but the monkey couldn't move it's limbs as the spinal cord wasn't connected but it was alive and it could eat and breathe and all that stuff.
eeluminarty Yeah, I do that when I'm bored and I often get messages saying the same thing XD
Severed heads usually live for about 45 minutes. In lab studies on homeless volunteers, it was discovered that many of them were able to perform menial tasks like chewing dirt and chain smoking menthol cigarettes well past the 30 minute mark. They all reacted to being maced and slapped well past the 30 minute mark. They would last an extra 10 minutes if placed in a freezer, and last 35 minutes less if microwaved on high. While many of them appeared to be experiencing agonizing pain, scientists say that would be impossible without a body or blood flow. These experiments were deemed totally humane.
I have One question, We apparently regenerate every cell in our body over a 4 year period, which doesnt copy every cell exactly leading to signs or aging as we get older, Is it ever going to be possible to either replace the cells perfectly through maybe medication or even extend the four years to a longer time period giving a longer life span and maybe looking much younger for longer?
a healthy way of living and a positive mindset are half the work ;)
so if we have some secound's. how long can a cockroach see when it get's Decapitated? it can live one week with no head so how long can it see ?
You should never test on animals!
dunno yolo poor animals! i like your avatar btw.
First stop killing animals for food, and then talk
would you rather test on humans?

question: When you are beheaded can you still feel like you head is still atached
In the book Crucibles: The Story of Chemistry, a story is related where the unnamed servant of chemist *Antoine Lavoisier* was beheaded by guillotine. According to the writer, Lavoisier immediately picked up the head and asked the servant to blink if he understood. Reportedly, the man blinked. There is also an oft-repeated anecdote involving Antoine Lavoisier’s own later experience on the guillotine in 1794. The story is dubious considering that it does not appear in any of his biographies, but reportedly he told his assistant that he would blink for as long as he was able after execution, and successfully did so for fifteen to twenty seconds.
Wow, head transplants? Transgender people could swap bodies!
Kevin P yes finally I can become a cow!

***** So you must feel the same way about humans?Look at all the horrid things humans have done.Should I remind you of the dark ages?Or maybe the crusades. How about world war?Hitler ring any bells?Humans have done worse than Mice have.
+ILYSNAF Hitler might have rang some bells in his lifetime, though I don't see how it's relevant to this conversation.
There are many instances of heads surviving for some time after execution by guillotine during the French revolution. The most famous was the case of the brilliant scientist Antoine Lavoisier. He was accused of treason by the dastardly Marat and was sentenced to beheading, as was the custom of the time in France. Lavoisier, ever the diligent scientist agreed with his assistant that he would, after the removal of his head by the blade, continue to blink so that the question of whether the head remains conscious or dies instantly could be answered. It was reported that he continuing blinking for up to 30 seconds after his head fell into the basket.
The evil Marat was actually stabbed to death whilst bathing by Charlotte Corday (an event celebrated in a famous masterpiece by David). Corday herself was subsequently guillotined and it was reported that her head survived for up to three minutes.
Lavoisier was pardoned by the French government some 18 months after his beheading, an action which could be seen as one of the most pointless or perhaps overly optimistic decisions of the time.
How can u see your headless body if u been decapitated?
I've heard a lot of reaction that a person's head would give after being decapitated but what happens to the body after getting decapitated how long will it continue to move or struggle
No im not a sicko I'm trying to write a story and I want a scene to be as realistic as possible

So if you cut off the head and connect the blood vessels and everything to machines that produce oxygenated and nutrient rich blood then you could have a living head separated from the body?
I often wonder if a person could run around headless before dying
