There is nothing better than home coming. My dad went on three deployments, longest being nine months…I know how that dad and that little girl felt at this moment…thank you for your service to our country sir…some never came back. To all the men and women that never came home…RIP….
For a soldier in service his own unit becomes a family; they bond together and care for each other and this makes them hide their longing for their family back home.

I also was away 13 mouths during the Viet Nam war. My daughter was born 4/30/75. I was already home by then but can't imagin how this guy felt.

My brother went into the Navy a year ago.
He surprised us last Christmas. I was the happiest i had been in a while. He gets new orders this June. I would greatly appreciate it if y’all could pray for him.

Almost never is a soldier’s family told over the phone anymore if they lost them or not. Most of the time it is done in person with two officers those officers are most of the time the commanders or close friends of the fallen. There is a duty given to some soldiers called “ A dignified transfer”. That is when a squad is given the task of escorting a fallen brother or sister home from the battlefield. Most times it is at the equest of the fallen soldier on who does the dignified transfer as the military tries to honor their last wish before they pass. If they do not last long enough to make it to base to give a last request then other times it will be the commander and the second in command.
I must make myself clear I’m not sure what traditions still go on for that kind of scenario and I could be wrong completely.
The soldiers fight for the country. The citizens fight against democracy and storm the capitol. Sounds about right

That is not very fun when ur dad leaves u as a baby and never wants anything to do with you until he thinks of u in a way that will make u feel like u have a dad then leave and come back not even a year and leave again.
