One of the all time greats. I love his elegant mannerisms, especially when he emerged from the hospital and greeted those nurses - as only an actor from Central Europe could.
HANDS DOWN THE ALL TIME GREAT MR. BELA LUGOSI!! EXTREMELY DEDICATED MAN AND ACTOR!! NOBODY COULD PLAY DRACULA LIKE BELA!! HE WAS A MAN OF MULTIPLE TALENTS AND HE IS GREATLY MISSED!! MY FAVORITE HORROR MOVIE ACTOR!! RIP BELA!!
One of the greatest actors of all time. No other actor is so identified with their most famous role as he is. He became the eternal Dracula. no other actor can or will ever surpass his performance. Mr. Lugosi your fame will only grow and I truly feel you know that. Thank you sir and please remember you are eternal.
A wonderful man and a very thankful immigrant. The one true prince of darkness who paved the way for all others to come playing that character. It brought a tear when Mr. Lugosi said , " I'am Hungarian by birth , but I am an American now." Lost , are such sentiments for that privilege in these times.
Very moving tribute. Mr Lugosi was, is and will always be the absolute iconic cinematic Dracula. An actor like no other, who always gave his best performance no matter what was given to him. I salute you Bela Lugosi and may you know of your endless fans who hold you in the highest respect and fondness. You will never be forgotten. Excellent tribute. Thank you.
Justin Lloyd, So touching and well-written! If Bela Lugosi is looking down on us, he must have a proud smile on his face! In the knowledge that no only is he considered to be a great actor but a great human being as well!!!!
I truly hope that somehow he knows how loved he is. And how much we all miss him. I have been doing more and more research on Mr. Lugosi and have found the story of his life to be more rich and full and amazing than any work of fiction that has ever been published. I find it astounding the things he was able to accomplish and the adversity he had to endure to make his dreams a reality. Truly one of a kind. I truly appreciate this video and I believe that the man himself would be proud to know what an impact he has made on this earth.
It would have been magical to have lived in his era and gone to the cinema, pay our 23c (!) and watch Dracula back in 1931. We are so blessed that film was invented in time for the geniuses of Hollywood to capture Mr. Bela Lugosi in all of his astounding glory. What screen presence! I am so happy to have discovered this actor -- albeit so very late. Lovely tribute, thanks for sharing. :)
I met his son twice on Ellis Island when we had the play about his father’s illegal entry into the country through the Port of New Orleans and his eventual surrender to the immigration service at Ellis Island. Lugosi’s grandson came with his father on the second visit.
ABSOLUTE AWSOME THANK YOU FOR SHAIRING THIS TRIBUTE TO US ALL.AMAZING THAT HE WAS DISTURBED TO PLAY DRACULA.A VERY HEART FELT INDIVIDUAL.CAN YOU TELL ME THE NAME OF THIS SONG AND ARTIST
Beautiful tribute but the music drowned out his speaking in the interviews...would be great if you could remake it and turn down the underlying music score!

Why would someone dislike this Lugosi video?
Great actor
The Prince of darkness once played the Prince of peace. He portrayed Jesus Christ on the Budapest stage!!!
That was lovely. Thank you.

A beautiful tribute indeed! Sadly on my system, the music over took the vocals .
