This video is proof that Keith Richards is and always has been the most coherent and perceptive individual throughout the history of Rock and Roll. Yeah, he has taken time off here and there, dove down into the pits of self abuse and depravity, but every time he came back with a street level grasp on the bigger picture and an ability to put complex social, economical and psychological circumstances into context. He's just an amazing and super unexpected individual.
It's just so impressive. One pearl of wisdom after another. I am biased - I am a lifelong Stones fan. But what Keith has over 99% of rockers out there, is, he actually has something to say. The power struggle, Jagger, recording and art. One of the funniest things was IMO just how good the Winos were. Just on the side, he puts the second best rock band together.
Talk is Cheap is one of my favorite albums and Keith is my most favorite Rock 'n Roll enfant Terrible. Without Keith I would never learned to play guitar he was the inspiration.
Wow! What a great find! Keith's most interesting interview. He really is the authentic character of Rock 'n Roll. PLUS an intelligent visionary, predicting the best future for the Stones.
Rory Conrad new Orleans la.--guitarist. Richards one of my idols--since early 70's--truly a necessary icon/attribute to the history and very quality of rock n roll
8.48: ''I'd like to make some more...I'd like to make some more until the day I die, and somebody has to refund the tickets for the next gig.'' Lol. Brilliant stuff.
Can’t believe they were talking about his age so much here? How comes people were so concerned about there age back then? Noel and Liam Gallagher never get asked them things but I guess that is coz of the Stones. It’s crazy that people thought you had to stop making music at a certain age 😂 it’s different when it’s people like Boybands, Harry styles, the Julie mono guess they should stop coz it’s not what they do it’s what they’ve been told to do but people who write songs and live for music should never stop. Some of Dylan’s best stuff came in the nineties
I don't understand your point? Surely you know that Tattoo You was largely songs written in the early/mid 1970's ? It had the major advantage of having a brilliant double A-side single 'Start Me Up/ Waiting On a Friend' up front!
@@petermills2061 Tattoo You was based on shapeless riffs from the '70s that were tightened by excellent lyrics and production later by Jagger and Clearmountain. Hence why a better actual album than the other albums.
I could listen to him talk all day. Never a boring sentence.

I was trying to post a comment, and realized I was saying exactly what you had already stated.

1:48 - that babbling brook of speech-patterns...
Interesting neither act made it as long as The Stones
Big deal.Bang bang, twang twang
Kurt Loder says that the stones were better in the 80's? That Tattoo You is better than It's only rock and Roll or Black and Blue?
Yup. Just tighter with better lyrics than those two.
