When maddie hears that Chloe got the scholarship and she didn't she was actually angry at her mom for not letting her organize her makeup. Then she stormed out the room and the show made it look like she was upset and angry. She ended up getting a spot as well!

Towards the end it was worse and she began to isolate herself more from the other girls, but honestly Abby made things revolve around her. I don’t blame her for that type of behavior.
