  • This production tells you all about having an MRI scan at Oxford University Hospitals as a younger patient. We follow two patients through the process of having an MRI scan and meet the team who support you in this, the Radiographer, the Play Specialist and the Nurse. During the production we learn about:
    What an MRI scan is
What to wear and bring with you
Having a cannula fitted if you need one
    Checking into the department
    Filling in a safety questionnaire
Putting your things in a locker
Having the scanner explained to you and looking around it
Getting onto the scanner and getting comfy
Putting headphones on and listening to instructions and music
Going into the scanner and having a scan
Talking to the radiographers from inside the scanner
    Keeping still for the scan
    The noises the scanner makes
    Checking the scan pictures
    Coming out of the scanner
Getting a sticker, getting your stuff and going home.
