Spent 60 quid on meat on last Sunday . Tried the mince it was fab and the lamb we minced half and we are having the joint today this Sunday . Its been great up to yet . Also had the pork belly in Chinese sauce . In a store fry . Loved it
I was 15 and running wild when Jimmy Keeling our local Irish butcher in N/London caught me stealing from his van. Instead of the police that kind hearted Freemason sponsored me to attend Smithfield Meat College and get my apprenticeship. I miss seeing Smithfield alive and swarmed with traders & buyers and getting the odd whisper in your ear about a few extra cases the bummeries can drop your way no questioned asked. I miss having to sleep on a block to await the Christmas Turkey/poultry delivery at 3-4am, and then spending the next week having to soak your hands in warm disinfected water at night because you have cleaned out so much poultry the bones have cut your hands to ribbons. I sit behind a desk and getting fat as a construction manager now, but not a day goes by that I never miss working 18hrs a day and come home smelling like bleach after having to wash the shop down after a hard day work and not being able to leave until you clean.
