Ylvis used to have a talkshow on TV, and they apparently, by chance, had an episode on Jan Egelands birthday. He's a politician working for the UN, brokering peace in all sorts of conflicts. He wasn't well known (at least until this song), but someone wrote in to Ylvis complaining that they didn't mention his birthday on the show. So, they made this song because of that complaint 😂.
I've looked at couple of English-speaking peopel reacting to this video, and out of all of them you seemed to get the sense of this song the most. Great reaction! Keep doing what you're doing!
I've never heard of Jan Egeland but as of now I trust him with my life.
