    You can measure caps in circuit with an esr meter. You made it look easy. Now I gotta do the exact same on my dead ps2. Where do you buy your capacitor kits?

    You don't want to measure caps in circuit, you'll get bad readings a lot of the time. It can work, but usually better to remove out of circuit. good using panasonic FR caps, good quality. these psus look cheap...i've rebuilt a ton of psus in my time and sometimes they are just awful quality wise. bet that cap sees a lot of high frequency

      Thank you for tip - I figured that was the case. Seems like Sony went through a few power supply revisions on the PS2. Again, thank you for taking the time to answer my question
