Great voice, perfect pitch, certainly not tone deaf, excellent timbre and good aucoustics. I first heard this song in Bingley West Yorkshire over 65 years ago by a Derbyshire man who also sang about the Derbyshire Ram..
Thanks - the sloping ceiling helps with the flattering acoustics. My grandpa smithy was in South Derbyshire but I never heard him sing much. I must get round to doing the Derby Ram as the real iconic Derbyshire song.
Thanks for this. It is great fun to sing - the verses are supposed to get ruder and rider as the song progresses but I have not heard any usuable examples yet.
What a lovely voice and jolly rendition. Thank you!
This a great version of this English folk song! Love and peace.

This song was sung on the programmes for schools on the BBC in 1972-I remember it well. The musical notes would appear on the screen as they were sung.

Excellent! Almost as good as Maddy Prior! Greetings from an "Old Cole" Stockholm Sweden!

Nice to think that the BBC was still doing its bit to promote traditional songs as late as the 70s
