Thank you. The cab seems a lot better than being in the open. Sometimes I wonder if I happened to somehow roll the machine would the cab shear off and cut me in two, but I try not to think about it too much.

The new stuff is fancy, but the old stuff was sure made well. I know it sat for years. The only issue I had to deal with was the pony motor fuel line and carburetor. It’s a great machine, even at over 70 years old.
      Thanks for watching.

No Way has that machine been stood for a long time & starts that good, I've had Cats in the Sahara desert that don't start that easy after being stood for a while. NO Way

When I got her it was hit and miss… mostly miss. There was a giant handful of rust in the pony motor gas tank and the metal fuel lines were rusted and obstructed. I rebuilt the carb, replaced the fuel lines, and cleaned and coated the tank. That was four years ago. She will still start, usually on the first try if there’s no water in the gas, but the carb is due to have the jets cleaned out.

I’ve been in the desert and yes they are hard to start there. Diesel fuel doesn’t like the heat. The hummers on my tour in Afghanistan couldn’t start either. However I work in -50 Celsius and these cats start easier than the desert heat.

The bare tractor is close to 11,000 lbs. I would say your estimate is in the ballpark after the blade, cab, and hydraulics are added.

Interesting air cleaner on an old D4. They came with oil bath air cleaners not the one shown.

I can't remember the details, but I recall in my manual that there were two types of air cleaners. I think the non-oil type is the later one. The pony motor has an oil bath air cleaner though. Thanks for watching!
