Wish I had two thumbs up today. Definitely better than a museum. I have never seen ribbon sold like that. Learned something new. Plus, I loved the little house panel that you can color. OMGoodness! The flannels make fabulous rag quilts which would be a great RV project!!! This will be added to my to do list for sure. Just the name Fancy Gap invites you to come see the place. I love panels too. Especially the Santa quilter in this video.. Panels can be stretched over canvas and stapled to frame as wall art. Many of the truck or children's panels could be framed without sewing for wall art at a reasonable price. Prices were also amazing. Quilters love classes. That uncut ribbon fabric is new to me.

Oh! My!! Gosh!!! That quilt shop was amazing!! I have never seen so many panels! Hey, that would be a great way to get started on sewing. Just get the panel you like; get a couple more fabrics to use as borders around the panel; get your backing and your binding fabrics; get some batting...you're all set to sew! It can be a lap throw quilt or a wall hanging. AND since you're going to be stationary for a couple of months now -- you can sew!! HAPPY SEWING!

Fun tour. Wish I would have known about it 4 months ago. I live in London, Ky so I would have been closer. Too far now to make that trip, but it was nice little video tour. Thanks.
@@GrassRootsLiving you made it so inviting I would love to take a vacation there and just not tell the hubby until we got there that, "hay by the way there is this awesome quilt shop I'd like to visit.

I'm drooling! What a fabulous store. Something for everyone. Would have to take a week to go through to see everything. Unfortunately I'll never get there 😢 since I'm from 🇨🇦🍁. What panel did you buy? You must have been tempted by something. Easy to learn free motion quilting on them! Hopefully you got a sewing machine you can do that on. Peace!
Since we live in such a small place. (A 7' by 18' travel trailer) We don't have room for any panels until we finish the projects we have already started so we didn't buy any....yet. We do have their contact info though. ;)
OMG! I loved this video. This shop is only an hour and a half from me but the most exciting thing is that I have been looking for the panel of the Quilting Santa for a couple of years. I immediately looked up the shop on Facebook, called them and they’re going to ship it to me! I’m so excited! Thank you guys for your videos.
Wow! With your video I’ve learned that there is a Beautiful quilt/craft shop near by. And I’m so Excited y’all have come to my State. And I also learned what ribbon fabric is🤷♀️who knew. And OMG the panels. Saw several I would like. As Always Thank Y’all . Happy Trails to Ya!

@@GrassRootsLiving Totally understand😁 I will not be offended if you don’t reply to my comments. And hope others feel the same. I enjoy watching y’all’s videos, I enjoy y’all’s travels and I enjoy y’all’s journey. Hubby and I are campers, planning to travel the world when we retire, hopefully in a few years and I’m a quilter, so I’m really looking forward to y’all succeed with that. Happy Trails to Y’all 🤗🤗
Yes we have. We started a joint project together while we were learning how to operate the sewing machine. We are well over half way done. We have videoed a lot of the process. We will release the video when it is done. Unfortunately, we are working long hours in our warehouse jobs. I am averaging about 10 miles of walking each day. Not a lot of time to finish it right now, but it is a seasonal job and we will be done the first week of December. :) Thanks for checking in on us. :)
Wow! What a neat place. I loved that little trailer sign that said Adventures are a good way to learn. Or something like that. All those panels. I’ve never really been into the panels but I have one that I picked up in Georgia this past summer that I’m going to make into a wall hanging for my cousins’ cabin in the Sierras. You’re going to have to be careful or your new trailer will be overflowing with fabric in no time! I just finished the last of 3 twin bed sized quilts that I made primarily from scraps from my 30s fabrics. Emptied almost 2 large shoebox sized bins & felt so proud to have cleared out that much. Only problem was that by the time I cleaned up & worked in everything I bought on my road trip this summer I filled them again & still had 2 shopping bags full that I didn’t have room for. So much for clearing out!
Oh my! I have been there! There are some great quilt shops in the Shenandoah Valley (Grottoes, Stuarts Draft, Dayton) have a lot of Mennonite communities and they have amazing fabric/quilt shops! That looked like fabric heaven! Great video!
Wow I work in a fabric shop but this place is insane - I'd be there for a week! The shop certainly caters to everyone no matter what your looking for, just beautiful, thankyou for sharing. Just wondering guys what sort of work you are doing and do you go from one place to another following your work? Peace out guys.....
Right now, we are doing warehouse work. It is exhausting. I average 10+ miles of walking each day not counting all the twisting, turning, pushing and pulling. We actually find a place we want to visit and then get a temporary job in that section of the country. Thanks for asking. :)
We pass through Fancy Gap often as we travel 77 from Michigan to Hilton Head, SC. My first visit was to catch my breath after climbing the mountain in heavy fog! Will definitely have to look up this shop.
How do I get the Santa quilting panel? Didn't see any contact info. I loved this video! You guys are sooo lucky to be able to travel like you do! Love you guys 💜
We put the contact info in the description. No problem though, I will share the webpage and phone number: www.fancygappottery.com Phone: (276) 728-9524 Yes, we consider ourselves very lucky! Thanks for watching, Tina!
Wow, how does one even start to decide what to buy! Would never have been able to get my grandmother out of there without a wheelbarrow to help carry out her finds! She had material stored everywhere for "future" projects of one kind or another. Hope you didn't have to mortgage your new trailer before leaving! LOL 😆 Take great care now and have a wonderful weekend! Bruce and Otis

A really interesting place to visit it looks like. I have a question for you two, do you know of a campground in Missouri that a group of us can camp at and they have a bldg we can sew in during the day. I know there would probably be a fee for the room. The guys rest in the camper and we sew, not sure how many would be sewing, anywhere from 3 to 10 maybe and you are welcomed to join us. Next year is when we are thinking. It could be by Branson or Missour Star or Hannibal so we could visit the store you went to there. Thanks.
There is a small but nice RV park in Hamilton (home of Missouri Star Quilt Company) link: a-country-charm-rv-park-llc.business.site/? . The Hotel Hamilton has a retreat center. I don't think you have to stay in the hotel to rent the retreat center. Also, there is a VFW building that can be rented for I think about $50 a day. Let me know if that helps. I might be able to get you contact info. It sounds like fun!
Any ribbon actually comes in a bolt. It is then cut into what we think of as ribbon. We only got a few things because we live in such a small space. However, I did get some sewing machine oil and something I needed to help with my mugrug project. Thanks for asking!

Many of the truck or children's panels could be framed without sewing for wall art at a reasonable price. Prices were also amazing. Quilters love classes. That uncut ribbon fabric is new to me.
First of all, thanks for your comment! I have had to go to a prepared reply because of the tremendous number of comments we are getting (which we greatly appreciate) and the fact that we are now working full time warehouse jobs (10+ miles of walking each day) thru the month of November. Please know that we read each comment and look forward to December when we can start answering comments again. :) Thanks for watching. Please keep commenting, we love hearing what is on your mind. :)
Oh! My!!
We have a couple of projects going already. Videos on them will be out later. 🙂
I loved this video. I live 2 hours away and didn’t know this business existed. Can’t wait to get my buddies together and make a road trip. Thanks!

Your enthusiasm is infectious! What a find in these two shops! I am planning trips in our new camper to include the great quilt shops you find and share! I enjoy the pace of your videos. You keep moving without extraneous detail! Peace ☮️ out!
Thanks for the kinds words, Linda!
Fun tour. Wish I would have known about it 4 months ago. I live in London, Ky so I would have been closer. Too far now to make that trip, but it was nice little video tour. Thanks.
Next time you are in that area, you will have to check it out. It is an amazing shop. :)
@@GrassRootsLiving you made it so inviting I would love to take a vacation there and just not tell the hubby until we got there that, "hay by the way there is this awesome quilt shop I'd like to visit.
Been to this store. I love it.

You will love it if you have a chance to get here. :)
Howdy Grassroots, hitting up your videos not just you Livestreams now. Cooler weather for me means back to my van and more Vanlife perks...Lol Best park are the views and the much better data connection so hitting up some more of our Nomadic Tribe Family/Community! 😳 😲 Wow, those shops always mesmerize me! Thanks so much for sharing! Also congrats you're almost to 10 k, yay! 🤗💯👍🏾♥️
Thanks so much for checking in on us. Great to hear that you will be back to your van. :) Thanks so much for watching! Yes, 10000K is just around the corner. :)
I have never wanted to go to a fabric store as bad as I want to go to this one. OMG this store is fantastic. Too bad it's across the country from me😭

Love, love, love this store. Fancy Gap, VA is on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing 😊
That is so cool! Thanks for watching!
What an amazing place! I could see myself going in there at Thanksgiving and not coming out until St. Patrick's day!!
LOL!
Thank you so much for sharing. I live in Pennsylvania and this spring I’m hitting 95 to fancy gap. ❤️

Dean seems so excited. Where is the electronics? LOL My wife loved this and said we need to go here. Pretty cool.
Virginia isn’t too far from AZ is it? 😉
@@GrassRootsLiving Well if you were headed this way and brought some things, nope. LOL
So glad to hear that our videos help! That makes us so happy. :) Thanks for watching!
Wow! With your video I’ve learned that there is a Beautiful quilt/craft shop near by. And I’m so Excited y’all have come to my State. And I also learned what ribbon fabric is🤷♀️who knew. And OMG the panels. Saw several I would like. As Always Thank Y’all

Happy Trails to Y’all 🤗🤗
Oh my this is on my list to go!!! Love it!!!
Have you guys started your quilting yet???
Thanks for the advice on overflowing our RV. 🙂. We will keep an eye on it. Thanks for watching!
Oh my! I have been there! There are some great quilt shops in the Shenandoah Valley (Grottoes, Stuarts Draft, Dayton) have a lot of Mennonite communities and they have amazing fabric/quilt shops! That looked like fabric heaven! Great video!
A great way to describe it! Fabric Heaven!
Wow I work in a fabric shop but this place is insane - I'd be there for a week! The shop certainly
caters to everyone no matter what your looking for, just beautiful, thankyou for sharing.
@@GrassRootsLiving Thats wonderful, I'm jealous but you guys enjoy!!
We pass through Fancy Gap often as we travel 77 from Michigan to Hilton Head, SC. My first visit was to catch my breath after climbing the mountain in heavy fog!
Will definitely have to look up this shop.
You will love it!
Loved your video, Will have to make this a stop! Im in PA and thought the shops close to me had a lot!
You should! It is a great Quilt shop that is for sure!!!

I’m going here
Yay! So cool!
I wonder if people quilt the panels?
I'm looking for more of my curtain fabric because it was discontinued. I'll send them a message to see if they have any. Thanks for sharing this!
I do! It’s great practice!

That place is like an old Ben Franklin dime store on steroids!
LOL! Loved the way you described it! Spot on!
🥰❤️❤️❤️🥰 Chris
Thanks!
I didn't understand about the ribbon fabric, could you explain what it is? Thank you. So what did you buy?
Any ribbon actually comes in a bolt. It is then cut into what we think of as ribbon. We only got a few things because we live in such a small space. However, I did get some sewing machine oil and something I needed to help with my mugrug project. Thanks for asking!
@@GrassRootsLiving I had sewing machine oil and someone told me not to use that get the fine oil for use in fishing reels.
Oh my goodness - a girlfriend road trip !! ♥️
I know, right?!?!?! :)
❤
Thanks Robin!
I’m interested in a panel however I don’t have Facebook 😭
No problem. Just call (276) 728-9524. They are closed on Sundays but open the other 6 days of the week. Thanks for watching!
The views from there is alsome
