@@lilbitotrble You're the negative one here. If you read the comments, I'm not alone. I'm laid up in the hospital, have casts on both hands, wrists and arms. I know how to do crochet, but by looking at your work, it's very amazing because this is my first time to see your chain and I am now learning from you. Thanks so much.
I’m teaching my grandkids to crochet and they can do strips now. This could be fun to make when they get a bit more proficient and they’d probably love to wear them. Although, who knows, I was sometimes embarrassed to wear the stuff my grandma made me because I was an ungrateful wretch and wanted to be like everybody else.
Your design work is beautiful. God has obviously given you a gift, with regard to heritage art. My only question is : can you possibly put together a video with directions in the captions? I'd love to know some important details. For instance, I had trouble following row one. Was it made using the "single crochet foundation stitch"? If not, then written directions would be very helpful to me! Also, how many stitches are in each long row, and how many stitches are there along the side /end edges, among other details. This design work looks easy enough, but I know how important the details are in my artwork. At some point I'd love to add this type of lovely, hand woven crochet design to some of my other artwork. Thanks for sharing and teaching! Sent from Karen 🐦 -in the USA
@@conniestone6251Just crochet the ends together and make it long enough to be able to tie it because it would be difficult to make it into a hook belt.
This can be a beautiful plant hanger. I have been searching for a great tutorial and though it's not plant holders I can absolutely recreate that . Thank you
So I’m watching this video, but it doesn’t show where she started with the yarn. I looks like one skein, but I have no idea how much yarn on each end. I want to try to use this technique to make a cuff for a glove. What is this technique called?
I would recommend slapping those wiggly ends down onto some very low tack tape (like painter's tape, or pressing some regular masking tape against tour t-shirt a few times to remove the stick) at the end of the braiding process to keep them in the correct position if you aren't as massively talented (or experienced) as she is.
I tried this using 75 base chains per strip and an I hook 4 ply yarn. I guess the chain length would vary depending on hook size and yarn thickness. Mine came out great.
Okay so this is supposed to be a head band. Materials needed: 5 colours of yarn A squishy thick hair tie (these are usually sold for small kids) And a crochet hook (my guess a 3.5mm or 4.00mm) You are going to be making 5 of these strands: Make and I-cord that is 120 stitches in length (it may need to be longer or shorter depending on the head circumference), turn, sc 1, chain 3, then dc along the I-cord. Once all 5 are completed that 1 of the colours (I would probably actually use a 6th colour for this) and reattach along one of the edges of the first strand, sc along the edge (it looks like 3 or 4 sc stitches), grab the next colour and sc along the edge of that 1, repeat for the remaining colours. Do 3 or 4 rows of sc. Then you will grab the hair tie, and hold it along that top edge you have been crocheting, you will be crocheting a row of single crochet around the hair tie to attach it. Cut the yarn and weave in the tail (hopefully you will do a better job than in the video). Weave the strands as shown in the video. Now taking the same colour as you used for the top, sc along the bottom edges of all 5 strands, starting with the 1 on the left and working in order of the weave across. Sc 3 or 4 rows (do as many as you did for the top), then on the last row crochet around the hair tie. Hopefully this helps some of you.
Thank you! I got most of it from the video but had no idea how long the left hand initial "tail" was that she was using. (at beg. of vid she shows a 2.5mm hook). Thanks again! 🥰🥰
That’s a beautiful headband and you cd adapt the materials to make it into curtain tie backs. It’s a lovely braiding, you cd buy some decorative braided tapes instead of the actual crochet to make this. It’s a good idea, elastic hair ties have many uses.
