  • Everyone knows Muhammad Ali, the great boxer, and one of the greatest athletes in history. Ali was known for his bold statements, especially in the world of boxing and sports. In boxing, it's common to talk big, show off muscles during weigh-ins, and use words to hype up the competition.
Muhammad Ali made some serious statements that he later regretted. Once, he claimed that if you wanted to hit him, you wouldn’t be able to touch him. Even more controversially, he once said, "I am God." However, later in life, Ali faced a humbling reality. He developed Parkinson's disease, which made his hands tremble uncontrollably.
In his later years, particularly during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Ali lit the Olympic flame while visibly struggling with his condition. Reflecting on his life, Ali said, "God gave me Parkinson's disease to show me that I am just a man like any other, with weaknesses like everyone else."
Ali understood that despite being one of the strongest men on earth, he was still just a human being. He realized that strength is temporary; today you might be strong, but tomorrow you could be an old man walking with a cane. Recognizing that we are all servants of Allah protects us from pride and fills our hearts with humility. When we acknowledge our servitude to Allah, it encourages us to turn exclusively to Him.
