I'm in the middle of removing my ST2's center console to swap out the shifter with a short-shifter and do a bushing install and I ran into a roadblock with removing the e-brake. Just did this last night. Thanks for the video it was a big help. I was going a little nuts looking for the screws behind then passenger airbag trim because you skipped past removing that part. Couldn’t figure out for a minute or so how you had screws there and I didn’t! Video was a big help though

I just did this mod today it took me approximately 2 hours to complete and some things appeared much easier in your video than when I attempted it lol everything came out well the only thing I found extremely difficult was trying not to scuff or scratch any of the plastic pieces but it was impossible to complete without a few unfortunately.
Just did my console swap out thanks to your video. Just a few tips, you don't show removal of the passenger airbag light trim piece..this was the most difficult because the left prong got stuck on the plastic nub and was a pain to remove. Also there are cables underneath the console that need to come off their fastener locations to facilitate removal of the console after everything is removed.. Other than that great video and thanks!

Sweet! My cupholder showed up EARLY! So I got the install done this weekend.. But now I am wondering whats going on with the extra USB plug you are showing @ 0:08. Part# HU5Z-19A387-A WHERE does it plug into the wiring harness? Are you stealing the plug from the one in the Arm rest? Splitting from somewhere? Maybe theres another source I didn't see? I really want to add this final touch, but being as I didn't find anywhere to plug one in, I'm not sure how.
The USB hub in the video is actually replacing the one in the center console. My car was an early build so it had an older version that didn't quite support android auto / carplay fully so I upgraded it while the console was out. Thanks!

How long did this take you to complete? Also I'm worried that the console will rattle and buzz after this... Is yours still as tight as it was before doing this?
It took me about three hours, but you have to figure in setting up the cameras and what not. I could've probably finished in about half that time if I just did it without filming. I drove it around quite a bit to go pick up dinner and didn't hear any new creaks or rattles, its just as tight as it ever was! As long as you take your time when your putting it back together you'll be just fine. Doooo eeeet!
Yeah its too bad that the euro holder doesn't have the built in LEDs but at least drinks/water bottles aren't interfering with my shifting anymore. I like how much lower they sit. :)

Did you also install a USB port? One was shown at the beginning. If so, what was the part #, and is it available in US or euro only? On focuses.org you mentioned drilling a hole for LEDs. Can you elaborate? Did you used OEM LEDs or other? How were the LEDs (and USB port if you used one) wired up?
Hey Thom, I did install the USB that was shown at the beginning. Part #HU5Z-19A387-A , and it is the required USB port for the Sync3 upgrade with Android Auto - as my car is a early '16 it didn't already have it pre-installed. You can get them from any ford dealer here in the states if you need one. Regarding the LEDs, the stock cup holder has a Red LED pre-installed and there is no hole for one on the euro version. If you wanted to, you could use an aftermarket LED, drill a hole in the Euro cup holder and wire it to the stock wire location. I opted to not do that and not have any LED. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!

Thom Murphy - My pleasure! :) If you have an '18, you don't actually need it as it just 'upgrades' the one that already exists in your armrest. The '16s shipped with an under-volted port and were incompatible with Apple CarPlay, this USB port fixes that. It was as simple as unplugging the old one and plugging the new one in - no change in plugs or anything.

As you can see around the 3:20 mark, the cup-holder portion is removed/installed from the bottom which requires you to take out the whole thing. Additionally, that little white cable he took out is for the red LED that is not applicable to the Euro-spec. It's only accessible after you take it out. You could try doing it from the top but you'll have to rip/break a lot of trim pieces.

Why? Bottles and cans or whatever will be all over the place, I’d rather swap my euro one out for what you have, worst design ever. Needs some sort of insert to hold slimmer bottles more secure, the sliding bits are crap.
