    I’ve had 2 Hondas with this feature. Very easy to use and convenient.
    It’s actually two systems in one, the traditional parking break, and one while you are in stop and go traffic.

      Are you serious? This is the most stupid and unnecessary feature. Old school cars are better, simple and straight forward.

    When you turn the car off, the e brake should automatically engage especially for manuals

    • @markr.1984
      @markr.1984 Год назад

      With my 2018 Civic sedan EXT 6 speed manual does not automatically engage if I shut off the engine. I have to engage it. Maybe it assumes if the car is in gear, that's all you need? Also, unlike in this video, (which apparently is for newer Hondas) to disengage the parking brake, I have to first press the brake pedal and then release it. I also have brake hold and it does indeed disengage if I push in the clutch, apply gas and let out the clutch to start moving.

    Isn't the entire point of an "emergency brake" in a modern auto to function if there's an electrical issue? Especially on cars with wire throttle and steering?

    "Brake Hold" is operating completely independent of the EPB. Two different brake systems. The Brake Hold will brake all 4 hydraulic actuated brakes. Most people are not avare of this, because this information is not published in user manuals. A few RUclips videos do explain it correctly.

    I pressed the BRAKE HOLD button once when I bought my VW Golf and have never needed to press it again. It stays turned on every time I start up the car and drive off. I live on a very steep hill and it makes starting and stopping on a slope effortless. I just can't understand why Honda would require you to turn it on every time you get in to their cars? It's such a shame as I love Honda's.

    • @markr.1984
      @markr.1984 Год назад

      You are correct, there is no brake hold "memory" in a Honda. You have to push it upon every startup if you want to use this feature. But if I push the 'econ' button, it seems to remember that. My car would stay in econ mode until I either sold it or I drove it to the junkyard if I never pushed it off. But with my 6 speed manual, econ does not seem to give me better gas mileage at all and I have tested it extensively. Since it does rob power and acceleration, I don't use! Why would I?

    • @parsatayebi
      @parsatayebi Год назад +1

      @@markr.1984 how do you expect econ to give you better economy in a manual? in the cvt obviously it lowers the rpm to be max efficiency all the time but in a manual thats your job. it just dampens throttle response so you drive smoother. i use it when i got chicks in the car or when i gotta drive my parents lol

      Engine idle turns the engine off. The brake hold will engage the brakes. Two totally seperate functions.
