You can see the level of dedication, he is completely exhausted at the end, I would even say lost in the music. I saw him play in the concert hall in the semis and it was mesmerizing. Not only his technical ability which is absurd, even for the competition, but also his sound, his projection is HUGE, without being harsh or ugly.
The intensity of his interpretations is nearly overwhelming, the intentions are so clear that even from the live stream I felt crushed by the musical overload.
Even if he didn't get first place here, I think the world took notice and we will see him much more in the near future.

True expression and eloquence. Playing that actually says something. None of the well learned violin mannerisms and safe playing of the other competitors. Kevin's physical balance with the instrument is in itself a masterclass.

Bravo, Kevin Zhu! Your artistry, ability, and devotion to the music are apparent in every note you played during this competition. The judges should feel absolutely ashamed for the part they played in eroding the integrity of the Queen Elisabeth Competition. I wish you a successful and much-deserved concertizing career.

The judges decision to place him 4th seems to be so unpopular and controversial, the publicity might just help him in his future career. I certainly hope so!

Le classement est totalement ridicule...il aurait dû obtenir le 1er prix. Tellement extraordinaire

    케빈은 음정이 정확한데
디미트로는 음정이 특히 고음과 더블 코드에서 불안하다.

I wonder if they’ll make the scores public. Maybe it was down to .02 or something for all the finalists, kinda like how elli was .09 below Joshua in the china comp…one judge putting him at 95 and her at 94 is what makes or break an entire prize
