Japanese Knotweed is a destructive and invasive species which has to be killed off and/or burnt. Most councils need to be informed if you have it as it can be so destructive to buildings and the like. Hopefully this video can help get rid of your problem.
This treatment in the video has been continued spring and autumn since the video was recorded and this particular infestation is now dead.
