I’ve seen reefers with thicker tanks diy mp40 supports underneath the outside motor. Think they cut pvc pipe to the same height as the motor, then cut in half and siliconed them to the tank underneath the mp40 to support them. Also heard some have 3d printed supports for the motor. Cussing is also part of our hobby 🤪. Just remembered something-Melev’s reef makes an acrylic support for the external mp40 motor, attaches to tank with adhesive. Might want to give it a shot.
Yeah they work fine, maybe run a little warm, but I have an idea with zip ties and more of those sticky things. Good to know there are after market products if this idea doesn't work.
Great tank. Looking forward to see your progress. I have the IM150 version w/ 6 mp40 (3 on each sides) and have not yet figured out the appropriate flow myself. I tried the MP40s on the back but moved that months into it.
I've since added the Tunze 6105 on the back and with the 2 MP40s on the back and the Stream 3 running down the back, I think I have consistent, heavy flow throughout.
That clown is a snowflake from proaquatix. Got her 8 years ago from a local that had a wholesale account. Her mate died about a year ago, which was a black and white, also from proaquatix.
Did you opt to use innovative marines sump system they sell or is it third party? Would love to see a vid going over their sump system and plumbing if you got one.
From detritus or coraline and other algae? With detritus, I have a Tunze 3 in the bottom back right that shoots all the detritus to one small area that I can easily suck out. That pump is a beast. If you mean coraline, the tank is only like a month old in this vid, so fresh glass.
Yes, very tame and active. They follow me around the tank thinking they’ll get fed. Blue throat triggers are reef safe in that their mouths point upwards. From what I’ve read, they eat out of the water column (pelagic) so they are not well suited to eat off rocks. I have crabs, hermits and snails which they don’t bother. I don’t have shrimp but that’s because I have a flame hawk which would for sure eat any shrimp.
This tank is stacked!
Can't wait until some more of the smaller pieces grow in.
Looking very nice my friend! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!
Great work man! 🤙
Nice tank, nice triggers. I got two males!

Love your clownfish! What kind/where did you get them?

I went with sump that was meant to have a turf scrubber in the middle, big open space for my frag rack area.
Great video! How do u keep your bottom so clean?😅

The two triggers you have, are they pretty tame? Do they hunt down and kill your inverts?
