Glad you enjoyed the lineup fellas. I was particularly excited about this one, three amazing producers. I’ve drilled a few bottles of that Cinsault myself! Cheers, Tom

    Yay, some Saffer wines.
Cinsault vs Cinsaut. You'll likely find that the wineries labelling as Cinsaut are aiming at the American market because that's a USA standard spelling and it needs to be labelled as such if it's sold there.
An interesting lineup but Savage is an absolute beast, sourcing his Grapes from all around the Western cape he is whipping up some wild wines.
BTW I was so confused for a second. By the title I thought there was going to be 1 SA, 1 French, 1 Aussie. Was stoked you started with South African...and then the second was SA...and then when I saw Savage I finally understood what was happening.

Excited about this one too. Had the Craven and Kloof Street in March while visiting family in Cape Town. South Africa has some amazing old Cinsault vines and produce several standouts, the best I've tried is the AA Badenhorst Ramnasgras Cinsault very hard to find and exceptionally good. Btw Mick Craven is an Aussie

Badenhorst Ramnasgras is fantastic, especially with some age on it. Another amazing example is Sadie Pofadder, although hard to find

Savage Red is only about R360 a bottle in SA (AUD 33). Amazing value. You should try Porseleinberg, and Boschkloof Epilogue as well

Cinsault can be spelt with or without the L!

The wiki article leads with 'Cinsaut' too

My guess was NZ, although thought it could also be SA. If I was tasting, I would have had no clue 😂

Afaik they are Aussie dollars. Still not super cheap, but when you are a wine nerd it makes sense I guess.
