Completely agree, incredible truck. Not my daily so I'm keeping the mileage down and plan on keeping her long term. I lucked out by ordering the truck back in Sept of 21. Original MSRP the day I placed the order was about 88.6k. Nine months later when the truck finally showed up the MSRP increased to 95.5k. Thankfully I was price protected and feel extremely lucky to score such a fantastic truck at a reasonable price. Enjoy!

Love the red stitching on the interior. All in all it's a really nice truck with grunt. Stock boost? My gasser is a 03 silverado 6.0, 330k miles. Other than the factory piston slap at idle the 6 liters tend to have the truck has been absolutely phenomenal and reliable. Has GM fixed the oiling issues on some of the 5.3 and 6.2's? Very common issue with some is lifter tap and oil psi loss. A friend with a 19 gmc 6.2 loses literally 2 quarts a month and it has 32k miles. Some 5.3's are phenomenal and some, even the newer LS's you hear at a stop light with lifter tap. Our personal 05 silverado 5.3 went through this issue. LS7 oil pump and lifters, 150k miles later, runs perfect. Yes on the gas truck video. Beautiful color on the TRX👍

Great video PD. Love your TRX. I daily drive a baby Duramax 3.0 inline six in my ‘23 Sierra and I love it as a daily. Would love to see a video of you driving that motor and get your impressions!

I am tempted to grab a Escalade with that 3.0 duramax makes most sense to me as far as testing goes. I have the ram 1500 as a toy right now. I don’t see much use for me to have a 1500 as a truck since most of my tows are 15k and up in weight.

For sure, makes sense. But man, I bet your wife would love that 3.0 motor in the escalade. I got 39.8 over a 50 mile streth on the highway from Oregon to Denver last year with the wind behind me at 70mph@@pddieselpower. It's an incredible motor, so dang smooth.

When you touched on the gas vs diesel for a non commercial truck it got me thinking, do you have any gas trucks in your in your fleet for smaller commercial jobs to give some real world long term reviews on them? I watch your diesel reviews all the time and would be genuinely curious about the newer gas stuff vs my 08 ram 2500 with a 6.7/g56.

Not in my fleet. I got friends and family that does. They tend to keep me posted on there experiences. Since they all know I love testing pickups. They also call with alot of questions. Therefore keeps me well informed with their journey with their trucks.

I watched the video again @PD and the comment you made about TRX and it likely being a money issue got me thinking about Stellantis overall finances. I wonder what the plan for RAM is going forward. TBH they seem erratic and all over the place, chasing their competitors.
Why do you think the new HD is taking so long? I'm hoping and praying that they keep the mega cab around, but with how little love and attention they are showing the RAM brand and having not seen ANY testing or hints of 6th gen HD I'm starting to get worried that the new owners just don't understand the market and their customer's needs.
Sounds like you are planning to get a new Mega Cab and I think I heard you explain why you think they'll be back, so I hope you're right. But man, what a hard wait on the news front...
Any thoughts on how the RAM brand is being ran? Seems pretty piss poor from a bystander perspective.

Definitely a hard wait. I realize that there is a good chance they might discontinue the Megacab due to the new cab being close to a Megacab. Not really the same but definitely much better then the older 4th gen cabs

    Hi:
The primary reason that they ended all of the high performance V8 engines is because they were having to buy emissions credits from Tesla so that they wouldn't be fined for not being in compliance with a myriad of mpg, and emissions regs.
Ultimately, they paid other manufacturers 2.1 billion over several years for those credits.
Now they've begun to control their insanity once again by making hum drum stuff like everyone else.
Too bad, but we have had a lot of fun in the interim.
