    The mic is very out wich is making a more bassy recording, nice one👍😎 sounds good. Those amps are the best for the bucks for bedroom playin’. So many effects and options. And the cool or hot mode of the tube also is a great add

      @@digitusinvulnere4826 I'm a bit late but, I don't have this one I have the vt40 with the 10" speaker. Although yeah, you can get a good metal tone, the amp itself has a dual rec simulation and if you install the app, you can get some more metal amps like the diezel and EVH. For rock and classic metal, the amp has a JCM800 sim, a dumbell sim and a plexi. There's also an orange sum for uhh, orange things. The amp is really good tho

      @@jazamora2053 hey mate, sorry that I connect to your questions here but that's what I would like to know also! Can't decide between the Vox vt20 or the Katana 50 .... :/ I like the fact that the Vox isn't that loud so it's perfect for playing in my apartment... And I would like to play stuff like Slipknot Korn and things like that, also as experience some Pink Floyd stuff... So a weird mix of styles I know but we'll... One thing that would set my decision would be an app option like marshall or fender has, Sharing sound settings, but as I know the Vox app hasn't that much Users and is not able to download settings.. and so I can't decide which one to buy like the VoX or the Katana

    It's $180 for an 8 inch speaker. The vt 40 at $249 has a 10 inch speaker, but the Boss Kantana has a 12 inch for $219. And that amp has a 10 band graphic eq and you can have any effect along with a dist or overdrive pedal (or any two effects).
    It also has 10 distortion overdrive pedals.
    And you can customize it much more.
    Also the preamp tube is 'starved', and running at such a low voltage that it does not glow by itself which is why they have to put LEDs in to light up the bulb...

    • @valueofnothing2487
      @valueofnothing2487 5 лет назад +1

      @Jeremy Belzunces I believe they have LEDs that switch on to yellow. At least that is how they did it in the past. You can tell if the glow comes on as soon as you turn on the amp. And turns off as soon as you turn off the amp. That means it is LED.

      The Katana belongs in the trash. Nothing beats the sound of tube, everyone hates to admit that. Who likes to spend hundreds for tubes? This thing here sounds like a tube amp and offers so many things for cheap.

    I just stole one of these beauties on eBay. First off... That 8" speaker is in way over its' magnet (its' head). The amp is capable of much more than that dinky little speaker can handle. I'll be using a trick I found on RUclips. You can remove the back, disconnect the speaker and attach an output jack. You then plug in a speaker cable to use the amp to drive a Marshall 4x12. The output is 5 ohms and the cab is 8 ohms - you'll lose a bit of power but this amp has plenty to spare. Secondly... The onboard FX are okay but won't challenge my huge of array of MXR pedals. I personally prefer the Fender Deluxe Reverb model (Setting #1). I then blast the sh!t out of it with an MXR Prime Distortion pedal. This amp is a great deal for the money. The Vox AC30 (normal channel) model is magnificent. I have a Vox AC15 and the sound coming from the VT20X is pretty darn close. For under $200 you won't find a better deal on a modeling amp.

    Why not make a 20 watt 12"? I do not need a 100 watt. I hate these 8" speakers in these things. Its pointless.

    There is no 12AX7 in the preamp. I can't believe how many people demoing these have no idea how these amps/valvetronix work. Typical, clueless sales clerks who couldn't be bothered to read the manual or a Vox website.

      +john deaux Hi, thanks for your comment. The Vox website AND the Vox RUclips channel states "These new amplifiers also feature a multi-stage Valvetronix tube preamp. This preamp design incorporates authentic analog circuitry to achieve the subtle tonal adjustments and capture the nuances that are distinctive of vacuum tube amps." For further information about the 12AX7 tube that is in the preamp, please visit the Vox website here: www.voxamps.com/VT20X Thanks!

      Using the term "pups" automatically tells the world you know nothing at all about music, guitars or amps. "Pups" is the favorite word for the kind of people that buy 7 chinese les paul fakes and play the four chords they know badly. These are great amps.
