Hi Roger, I have to do a lot of floor flanges as a first year apprentice. I do use an inpipe cutter on my drill but no matter how steady I keep my drill, they always seem cut on an angle and it brings my (and my boss's) gears to no end. Do you have any tips for getting straight cuts for floor flanges? Cheers.
Depending on job doing, can use OMT and then heat gun to remove pipe…..example, broken toilet flange. Cut if flange flush to floor, than heat gun to remove rest of the flange inside the 3-4’ pipe. PVC works, but HEAT on ABS = NO NO😉 The other tool that works ok is the socket saver and Reed Clean Ream.
That's some real plumbers hands holdin that drill chuck and not even burning those hands. My man!! I just use the inside pipe cutters from homedepot. Same as you just different brand.
Not sure about this but I just used my oscillating tool and it worked great. It's a flush cut tool so it works most places there's room for the tool. I can see where this might work in places I couldn't get the oscillating tool
looks like a rotor tool cutting blade head. I usually prefer a rotor tool then a drill for doing cutting. I bought a heavy duty model made by Craftsman, it is must stronger then a Dremel.
I dunno, man. Boy, it sure would be nice if it were that easy. Especially because you are suggesting I drop $60 for the tool. I already know this is one of those youtube videos where a professional makes it look sooooo easy, but I will find a way to f*&k it up.
jay pack we had a great time there. We worked through the Appalachian Service Project. It was fantastic! And it was beautiful there. I want to come back on the motorcycle one day. Good Luck!!!
I’ve done this with nuts, bolts and a hand serrated kerdi washer. Worked well
That's a great tool. Here in Brazil we only use our hands to do that. We use a little saw to cut this PVC pipes.
@Thiago Augusto we have those too. This is just a different tool for the job. Very nice to have sometimes.
Omg. Awesome. I need this rn! Ty

This is a cool tool. I’ve used the one from HD too. This one is really nice!
Is there any blade for 1/2 inch" pipe?

I use my multi-tool too, what blade do you use ?
I have to go about 4 or 5 in below floor level... All I had was "hope" before I found this video 😎😂
I am going to BUY it !!! I need it
I can see a good use for it as well, it should fit perfectly in a bin.
I'm going to put it in my toolbox as soon as I get through buying one and using it😂...
I made one of these back in the 1980's just used a roto splitter blade and a 1/4" toggle bolt.
@Roger Davis I’ve made my own before too. This one is pretty cool though.
I made one of these out of a dremal cutting disk and a few nuts and bolts. I used it to cut out a old toilet flange.
I have to do the same thing.... 😢
what keeps the cut 90 degrees to the pipe run?
OUCH! For the same money, you can get the Wheeler Rex 3290. It always cuts square and your 15buck an hr lackey can run it.

Tiger fish tools go hard body
Have you ever heard of a pipe piranha or a flange off tool

not sure how thats a tight space?!?! how about 2x4 on 3 sides?
Are the two by fours inside the pipe? 🤣
Don’t forget to use your safety goggles!!
The "Honey Badger Plumber" channel!
I went anti clockwise, and the pipe got longer
Safety glasses. Imagine working on an old sewage line and getting a piece of shit coated plastic in your eye.
The screw came out and fell into my shower drain. 😮💨
You can use a magnet snake to fetch it if you don't think it went down all the way!
Use a dremel
Straight 😅
Me want.
