Really good question! I've only had 1 negative response to my videos. It was some tool criticizing me for not painting the chrome trim on the seats on the 71 hemi cuda. Who cares! It's my model, I'll do it my way! We don't have to build them 100% as the 1:1 cars! Same with the door handles on your Magnum PI van. Have a great weekend!
Good food for thought Steven. I’ll likely ramble away at my thoughts on this I’m a video later. Like you the vast majority of my comments are always positive…a credit to our community, I believe. I’ll tag you when I do!!
Hello Steven, great question. From my perspective looking at it from the RUclips side of things a view is a view and it helps your analytics. I have gotten the music criticism comment before myself. For me, I don't give comments much weight negative or positive. I am doing this on my own and for my own enjoyment.
When you put youself out there you never know what you're going to get. You can't change how someone reacts to your videos, but the only thing you can change is how you react to them.
Excellent point Stephen, Critique over criticism are two different animals.1will empower you the other can eat you up, Mostly I read and take on board any relevant truth's and useful advice the other I just ignore. It still means they took the time to watch my / Your video's. Cheers and God bless. JV
I've gotten some good comments along the way here...anyone from the community has been positive and has offered great advice along the way. It's the ones that don't have pages who can get mean...telling me I did things wrong, I don't what I'm talking, my personal favorite of the one saying I should go back to snap kits. You gotta know which ones to give the time back to. Plus I'm thankful that people watch and write, helps with the analytics
Hello Chief. My thoughts are that scale purests and us fun builders is a gray area. For me it boils down to how real is real? Do you put the vin number sticker on inside the door? How many made by Fisher body emblems are on the door sills? I mean I had one person come across rough and since it's my channel, They certainly have the option to not subscribe or watch it. For the most part I get very useful and constructive inputs. I realize that there are many iterations of the Little Red Wagon. I enjoy your channel. Ed
Kyle from RKD sent me. Just subbed. Those who are negative are usually just unhappy with themselves and are lashing out or craving attention. I'd pray for them and move on.
I try to make sure I reply to every comment, especially positive ones, because someone took the time to write something. I appreciate the critical comments too, there's always something to learn, even if I have to read between the lines to find it. The music complaints baffles me; the sound can be muted and if there's narration RUclips auto generates captions, you don't have to listen to the music if you don't want to.
I don't mind constructive criticism but someone that comments about your taste in music, I think, is trying to upset you, it's your channel and they don't have to watch. I think the way you responded, with kind word, is the best response. Sometimes, it's hard not to take it personally but in the end you build the way you want.
Oddly enough I've had this happen as well. from people that don't normally comment. I had no clue who they were ?'y I checked their channels they had no content. I just figured they were trolls. I'm thick skinned as well and let it roll off my shoulders. Neither of them have commented a second time. As you know there your regulars that are always kind. Hope that helps???? I'll be watching
Wow😱, I didn't think that someone would mention my comments in their videos, I was interested to hear you (actually I was reading the subtitles😂). Regarding the fact that I wrote that I was annoyed by some of the details of your Vanagon model, this is mostly due to the fact that in the assembly instructions these details were shown correctly, and you did them differently, it seems strange to me. For example: the instructions show how the mirrors should be installed, and you replaced them L/R. This was a common mistake of other modelers with previous releases of this model (VW T3 Camper 2010). But this could be explained by the fact that there really was an error in the instructions in previous releases. Instead, in the 2022 kit, Revell FINALLY corrected the error in the instructions. This was just my constructive criticism, I'm not trying to offend you or anyone… By the way, I have several videos on the channel, one of them is about the assembly of American models (Chevy Van, Dodge Monaco), for example, I would be glad if someone pointed out to me where there are mistakes when assembling these models. Just as I write you constructive criticism, I would be interested if a fan wrote the same about my models. By the way, on one of the forums of large-scale models, I read from time to time something like this saying: if a person does not want to accept constructive criticism, he does not want to try something new (improve the skills of creating models). For example, you read the comments under your videos and decided to make a new video on this topic, instead of being offended and angry at people like me. For this you have great RESPECT!🤝 You don't get influenced by mean commenters (about "bad music") and instead continue this great hobby. I sometimes have even more bad comments on my channel, but I don't stop and continue to make videos. I heard that if you get bad comments and haters appear, it means that you are doing everything RIGHT!😅 I wish you the development of the channel and do even better with each subsequent model. I'm sorry that there is so much text, it's just that sometimes I don't write anything (maybe a few words) and sometimes I write whole "articles".
@@TMMGarage I’m happy you came back to my channel. I really appreciate critiques. I don’t feel you did anything wrong. I appreciate honesty. I really had to laugh at myself because some of the items you mentioned should have been glaringly obvious. Thank you so much for your kind response. Have a safe and blessed day my friend! 😀👍🏻
Hey Steven, I haven't run into many on here. But I just ignore it. Someone told me I sounded illiterate because I say "um" so much. Other platforms are much worse with the negative comments. So I just let it roll off.
99% of the comments I’ve gotten have been positive. I consider criticism to be positive. Only one comment was negative, and honestly I’m not sure that person watched the whole video. Thanks for the question!
It can’t be an easy thing to put oneself out there for the world, this is a craft for us and we hone our skills with each kit we complete. The hope is that if there is criticism that it can be constructive and not projected in a negative manner.
Nope I can't take it personal because everybody got their own opinions and I also just build for myself. great question 👍🏿
