Absolutely, the problem was that they were too bright, and too “plastic”. The classic Time War Daleks look like grizzly war machines. The classic gun-metal grey Daleks looked gritty and muted, with a functional military colour scheme. Apply those traits to the New Paradigm and it looks much more “Dalek” - save the zany colours for the really unique Daleks like the Supremes and Eternals, let the others be much darker and simpler. I really think it was the colour choice more than anything else that killed them. There are a few re-modelled and re-painted ones in Asylum of the Daleks in a metallic red and blue, and they look so much better.
I read somewhere that they were quite a chore for the operators as well though, in that they were simply too heavy to operate effectively. I think the design is all right in itself, but for me it's simply inferior to the traditional outline of a Dalek. And you know what they say - when something ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
Exactly, the muted colors give the Daleks a dark and threatening edge to them and when combined with their size, they're quite dangerous looking. However, Daleks of this size should be restricted to Supreme Daleks while the regular Daleks be Time War Daleks with muted colors depending on their caste.
And people said these designs couldn’t work.
Muted colors and a metal sheen do wonders.

"Behold the restoration of the Daleks! The resurrection of the Master Race!"
I like how you used the camera as the Doctor’s pov, like you’re in there with them.
NSD DALEK: Observe doctor a new dalek paradigm!
(paradigm dalek comes out)
NSD DALEK: wait what the hell is that thing?
Paradigm: Someone who hasn't skipped Motor day.
NSD: That was one time!
See now if the Paradigm Daleks were colored like this from the onset, people would have liked them. Made them look less like plastic candy toys.
