They saved my life. I came in for a severe seizure at two years old and my heart stopped. They brought me back from death. I am incredibly thankful for what they did.

I'm 40 years old and I'd love to be treated there after decades of being misdiagnosed & mistreated by our ER. They know what they're doing!

Love this hospital!! I am thankful for the extension clinic here in Olympia. I have a 13 year old who has to see several specialists and because all his specialists come here about once a month it lessens the amount of time having to travel to Seattle. The child life specialists are AMAZING when we do travel there. Thank you Seattle Children’s.
I don't like the ER but love the doctors they saved my life when I was a 8-9 months old I had a seizure and they bought me back to life

Yeah they do... A child may feel scared in a situation like that, and talking to them in a strong deep adult voice will only make them more anxious. I think it's good he does that.
You guys are doing an fantastic work. I am also a nursing sister and we never get the recgnition we deserve. Amazing that people still think we are dumb and are only there to do bed baths, fix beds and give bed pans. So sad.
When I was a child I was always really anxious,I wish I had of had someone like Paul that was there for me when i was like 5 lol

The good thing about a Children's ER is that they work really hard to care for these kids and aren't overly suspicious. When you take your child to a regular ER, they always want to know what the parent did to cause it and race to call DCFS.

To be honest when I was about the age of 3 I was hospitalized for bronchitis cause I have server asthma then and still now at the age of 16. Because of that experience I hate needles, and try to avoid going to the ER all together. One thing I have to say about this series is. Its addicting! I am literally going to watch more of it as I type this comment. ^_^
Well thank you. My asthma is like a scale on a graph. Either it's really good and not giving me problems or it's giving me udder hell.

I agree but I also think that because of the environment maybe it helps keep younger kids calmer? Plus their experience has likely been waiting (possibly in a lot of pain) while they listen to doctors speak to their parents in rushed, urgent, maybe even anxious tones (not at this hospital though!) in "adult" voices - it helps make it clear that this person is there for *them* and is different. I'm assuming he wouldn't use the same voice for a 3 year old as he would with say an 8 year old.

I have severe asthma and use my nebuliser in an emergency it is horrible sometimes but get used to having asthma
I experienced this
A couple of months ago, the doctors at my hospital saved my life I had a full sezure and I was in the hospital for 2 monthes. While I was there I was poked with needles everyday and the child life specalist helped me a lot though this. But now I have a fear of needles

When they have to put a bone back in place, do they always give you that heavy medicine to fall asleep, or is that only with little kids?
Normally little kids but they always give you a needle to freeze the area so it won't hurt! Well that's how it is in Canada

They ground out I had some allergies to some things (medicines)
When I was three my head split open and I had a lot of surgerys

I went there when I got bit by a wild dog
it makes no sense to traumatize hundreds of millions children about shots and for the rest of their lives when it can be prevented if time is took to calm the child, keep their attention during the shot. some of it I think the parents should be in charge of but it would be great to have a Paul to explain medical things. Lots of times with more knowledge it chases the fear away. Better to leave with a good experience that a negative one because people later make a decision they don't want to go back to the doctors no matter what.

Paul uses a voice that talks down to children. Adults do not need to change the sound or tone of their voice to talk to children.
I wish I lived by Seattle. The children's hospital by me sucks. They don't care at all about the children. I had to get a procedure done and had to get an IV and I'm absolutely terrified of needles. They didnt bring in anyone from the children's ward to comfort me. They just got a bunch of rude nurses who could care less about my comfort to pin me down and put me in horrific pain.
