Ive read a little about the actual Golden age in Charaka Samhita , It says that people had very long life span, they were tall, strong and healthy with brilliant minds, they also had direct perception of the Gods I should think that in the mini Golden Age we will also experience these things to some degree, its interesting that the dose for medicines prescribed in Charaka have to be halved because todays people don't have the digestive ability that people had 2,500 CE ( written then )
ahamatmabrahman there were four different ages/yuga’s 1. Satya Yuga People were very tall (40-50 feet tall) had life spans of 100 000 years on average and were all in Krishna consciousness. The prescribed practice of those times was sitting down and doing meditation. 2. Treta Yuga People were still very tall (20-30 feet tall) and had life spans of 10 000 for the average person. They were also all in Krishna conscious. The prescribed practice for those times was reading scriptures (I believe, not 100% sure) 3. Dwapar Yuga People were shorter than other ages but still tall compared to now (14-18) feet tall and lived a thousand years on average. Also all in Krishna consciousness. The prescribed practice for this age was fire sacrifices. 4. Kali Yuga This is the age we are in today. During Chaitanya mahaprabhu’s time on this planet (500 years ago) people were 7-10 feet tall and lived to 100 years. Now people are 5-6 feet tall on average and live till 70-80 years old. The prescribed practice for us now is mantra meditation (Japa Mala and Kirtan).
And also Dwapar Yuga ended 1,000 years ago and is NOT the golden age. What you’ve read might have been talking about Satya Yuga which was probably millions of years ago.
@ahamatmabrahman Yes. They have been changing the words of Srila Prabhupda for many years. The 1972 macMillan edition of BG is the original text. It's the duty of every devotee that seeks pure devotion to go against these demons. If only the people in ISKCON would wake up. Srila Prabhupada did say that WW3 would be nuclear, 2 /3rds of the words population would be murdered, maybe this has already occurred via Fukoshima and I wonder how many people there would be if there had been no wars over the last 30yrs ?. cont
