- Kap and Otis are fired up as the Chicago Cubs took game 1 from the St. Louis Cardinals. Otis moves to 7-1. #KyleHendricks was sensational. He came up with big pitch after big pitch and hung a zero on the redbirds. He went 7 innings and onky gave up 5 hits.
And the offense played some small ball and also cane up with big hits. #DavidBote hit an RBI double in the 8th inning that sent Cardinals fans scurrying for the exit.
Hunter Bigge made the 9th inning more interesting than it needed to be as he struggled to find the strike zone. But Hector Neris cane in and closed the door.

Last season during the last series against Milwaukee, Ricketts foreshadowed the 2024 Cubs pitching failures by telling the lame Marquee broadcasters that, “Hendricks would be on the 2024 All-Star pitching roster.” The Marquee guys just sat there open-mouthed with zero pushback. And here we have Hendricks leading the Cubs out of the cellar at 2-7 with a 6.78(down from 12 after he “worked on some things” at Iowa). Wow. KAP, I guess the ASG will have to just go with Shota who managed to make the squad. Glad to see Otis is inspiring the roster all MLB is talking about right now with a winning streak of five games: superstars like Mastrobuoni, Morel, Hendricks, Swanson, Tauchman, Amaya, Wisdom…..and the bullpen which strikes fear into the hearts of players across the league.
