the thing is, most people think that to achieve a long ball, they try to hit it on the dead centre WITH their toes only, but that will only result in the ball rolling along the ground, instead, hit the ball with the area that is between your inner foot and your shoe laces, this will give your ball a semi spin and can take your ball quite a distance. Remember, 3 factors depend on a perfect long ball, 1. The position of where you start your kick, 2. which part of the foot you use to kick, 3. where do you land the kick on the ball. So just keep these in mind and just practice, thats all that it takes
Aside from the sound, this is a great video tutorial on how to strike the ball, from a dead ball. It really applies to defenders as well imho, who will find themselves taking free kicks in their own half and it would be great to be able to use this technique for the longer ball.
thanks! appreciate the honest feedback.
Thanks I will try this
No problem! Keep us updated.
Are there any sort of workouts I can do to increase my leg strength and get more distance when I take the kicks?
Check out the workouts on our page, they will help.
I am a pretty good keeper overall, my diving saves and all that are good, i aint good with my fett whatsoever, imma try this thanks for the vid
Important to be honest with yourself and assess weaknesses & strengths, so I love the honesty. Keep working hard and you will improve.
@@TriformanceSportsTraining appreciate you really much man
Same w me 😂 My shot stopping etc are pretty good id say but on the ball i start to panic
Thx
no problem.
its incredible how "almost easy" it looks, but in reality... I don't get it at all. And thats after several years casual football.
Agreed!
thanks
No problem!
Not a keeper but I take long free kicks for my team so need to improve
This will help with that.
Hi, I’m 14 years old and pretty good with my goalkeeping ability and also my footwork. I can hit side volleys and half volleys pretty accurately but when it comes to goal kicks, I can’t get any distance on them. Is this because of my age and lack of power or is it something else.
Hi!
It's probably just your technique. Body size can also be a factor, but I'm sure your legs are strong enough by now.
Just practice taking goalkicks on your own using the technique in the video and you should be fine.
You'll get used to it with time and more practice.
Well said! Repetitions are going to be key. Over time with consistent practice you will improve.
The problem for my is that I hit the ball with my toes I find it difficult hitting it in the perfect spot
keep working, you will get it.
Confused about the striking it with hard bone part or lower laces above fingers?
Just above the big toe joint on the bone is the sweet spot. Inside of the laces.
Do you have any tips on how to easier hit that sweet spot on the foot?
Practice, practice, practice. Work on kicking the ball from the 6m line into the net of the goal. Remember to lock your ankle & drive through the ball. Good luck!
I dont even wanna goalkeep, i just wanna use this for kickball
sometimes i shoot the ball correctly sometimes wrong and i play goalie for almost 2 years
pls any tips
Breakdown your technique. If you have a phone or film yourself and analyze it. Then get out to the field and train with intent consistently. Good luck!
@@TriformanceSportsTraining thanks bro
Actually I am net not getting distance on goal kicks please make a detail vedio
We will soon. Keep practicing, it takes tons of reps to establish a consistent goal kick! You've got this. 👏
hello i dislocated my knee in summer i got it healed last month but i’m so scared and my confidence is lacking i don’t know if i can dive and put pressure on my knee because i haven’t done any rehabilitation on it i can’t even squat or walk on my knees so could you please tell me if i should just go for it or back up from goalkeeping
Go see a professional doctor and have your knee looked at! Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Where you are making contact with the ball for long kick in middle or lower of it
On the big bone of the foot. Just above the big toe knuckle.
In the goal kick time goalkeeper kept in down at D area but that time sadenly opponent will came and kick the ball and want goal that is considered to goal.?.
Not ideal that my team did not win the ball. but the area in which the ball landed was correct for our target forward to win it.
Most of the time when I kick the ball, it never leaves the ground, any advice?
If you're not getting any flight, it's most likely because the point of contact is not below the middle of the ball. Have you tried consciously keeping note of your contact point?
great tip! Love the goalkeeper union.
Iam a goal keeper and I don't have a glooves😢😢
Gloves only really help with catching so I should be fine
U
When I kicked why always curve?
Could be where you are making contact with the ball or your plant foot is too close to the ball. Try altering these 2 variables and let us know if you see any improvements.
Can I send my video?😂
So no one talking about the thumbnail looks like Harry Kane
haha let's make it viral.

Shit, i wish i had youtube as a kid. My goal kicks were rubbish. A 5'9 keeper with awesome shot stopping ability, but couldnt kick for shit. At 42 I'll try this out 😂
I'm 37 and I just started... never too late
