I thought of making some tommorow because my grandchildren have been coming over in the morning about 10:30. Bless their little hearts coming over like that to grandma's right after breakfast. Children are so sweet in the morning. Anyway I figured I better enjoy it while it lasts. This looks so yummy. Thankyou.
Lotus syrup. Hmm. Interesting. I guess I'd have to order that online. I always thought of that as a perfume. I hear there is an old woman who lives in Egypt who makes Lotus Oil and she sells it and makes her living. I heard the women use it in their hair. I thought wow what an amazing woman. Such a skill. Syrup though. I will have to look that up.
@@sarahrickman6609 Hi Sara, there is an easy version of Lotus syrup you can make at home, warm a cop of milk and add a cup of Lorus spread to it and keep whisking till its dissolved, sometimes I tend to add more than a cup of Lotus as I like it thick, enjoy 😊
Omg this looks so good. I'm diabetic so I shouldn't but I'm gonna lol. I think this will be perfect for my sister's upcoming birthday! this channel made me get a stand mixer lol..I can't wait to use it
Living in the city here in Montreal, I don't know about this kind of food/treat. Looks pretty good. I would probably pour on some Chocolate syrup on that too. Maybe the closest I can think of for a '' county fair, amusement park '' treat would be the BeaverTail. Pretty damn tasty! Your videos Billy are very enjoyable & informative. Thank you.
Hello! Just tried making this… the oil bubbles over a lot more, causing the batter to break up to smaller pieces rather than hold a long, connected shape. Also, the batter seemed to take up more oil than I expected…. I’m wondering what could have gone wrong? I double-checked the measurements and everything was mixed correctly. Thanks!
Have you noticed he said that you must use medium to low heat until it reaches up to 375°. 1, You could have had the heat on too high. Toss a little dry flour in the oil before squeezing the batter in. And check again to make sure the proper temperature before you fry the second cake. 2, the batter isn’t thick enough.
This recipe as written is way to thin. Mine did the same thing. I had to add another cup of flour and let. The batter rest an hour, then they were good.
When you start eating the funnel Cake, the expression on your face is priceless!!
Love your recipes that don’t require fancy ingredients so us commoners can actually make. Thanks, Chef! 🤙

Can't wait to try this recipe. To be extra safe when cooking with hot oil, move the handle in towards the stovetop so it's not sticking out.
This makes me homesick for the midwest... in a good way.
Yummiest Funnel Cake! I really like these desserts!

Never actually seen funnel cake before, just heard of it. Had no idea they looked like this. Thought they would look something like baumkuchen.
Pardon my ignorance but what is baumkuchen? Sounds Turkish.
@@sarahrickman6609 It's from Germany. It's a cake with a hole through the middle. You can google it to find out more.
FOMING OUT THE MOUTH RN
Does the recipe call for 1/2 stick melted butter (1/4 cup) or 1/2 cup stick butter?
Is therw such a thing as over mixing the batter? I made this and it didnt form into ribbons. I feel like i over mixed it. I will try again.
Can you store the batter? Or must it be used the same day?

Can u do elephant ears too? To me that's another fair classic!!!!!😊😊😊
I haven't had elephant ears in a decade or two! ❤
Can you use selfrising
I just had a thought. I think a ketchup condiment bottle would work. Because I don't have a bottle let that.
Lol that's what I use
I guess I won’t be eating healthy today 😂😂
LOL use a box cutter next time, I did works great. Or buy a triple nozzle on Amazon.
Note cut the tip before putting on top of bottle 🙄
