We definitely need a side by side comparison with a proper 15 inch two way cabinet. Look forward to seeing and hearing it. Thanks for bringing us this wonderful review. 👍🏾
I bought before seeing this but all you have said is spot on. Big Harbinger fan for years. I use 2312's, 2315's and 4115's for my larger venues but the MLS1000 is perfect for wineries, coffee shops and smaller pubs. And for the price...no brainer!!
@Riley Keller Both sound great. Set up for your venue would determine which. Around 50 seated listeners, an MLS 1000 perfect. 50 to 100, I would use a pair of them. When you have a more active audience, I would stand a couple of 2312's or 2315's. If you are just starting out, there is no better way to go than the 2312's. Sound quality, price, and ease of setup cannot be beaten. Good luck.
I heard these today🔥🔥 I Bluetoothed my phone the sound was great. I'm a mobile dj and I'll definitely be buying a pair. Thanks for the added review I'm sold ❤
Thanks for taking my call, and chatting it up with me i picked up a pair and gotta say I was impressed with the sound and price point thanks for the recommendation great videos and again thanks for taking my call and talking shop!!
Thank you so much for your videos. I like the way you go into detail of how to set the PA up , how you put it together, how it's made, the weight of the product ( very important for us musicians) , etc.
Went in to Guitar Center, traded in the 15's (which gave me 10% off pluis some cash), picked up a pair of MLS-1000's and I think they will be my main DJ Speakers for gigs
I just drove 3 hours to Guitar Center in Sioux Falls, SD today and bought two of these!! These will improve my mobile dj business exponentially!!!! I can’t wait to use these speakers next week.
@@Mdnesseptx they have been an absolutely phenomenal essential purchase!!! I can rock the house or I can play soft and light for people to have conversations and still hear the music in the background. They are amazing!!!!

Just bought this speaker tonight just 1 for now I dj 80s, 90s, house, disco, hip hop and everything in between this is perfect for my gigs small light and portable
very well done video! I did go to GC and listened to it which was impressive especially for the price. I did not try the others there for comparison. I'll have to get one.
A comparison with normal active speakers would be very useful. 👍 Maybe you can make an other video and compare the 2 type of sounding and the SPL of both system. Thanks!
You would have to compare them with sub woofers.. I have a pair of the MLS900 's Do a 4 piece Johnny CASH tribute using them at a few shows.. These would her smaller shows with about 175 people. The biggest advantage is it is a very easy setup and doesn't break my back carrying the equipment in. On top of that it sounds really good. Would I use them at at our 1000 people show, well heck no...
Hey @expertisland thank you for this upload. Something I am wondering is do both columns produce an identical sound? I was working with one of these recently and noticed that only the top column produced highs and the base driver. I don't see any additional information online concerning the second column, if it produces sound and if so what range. Thanks!
I enjoyed your video very much. I bought one ms1000. I am very happy with it. I use it for home use. I was surprised that it was an affordable loudspeaker at $699 plus tax. Your information was very helpful. I am excited to own another ms1000. My home sounds like a night club . I save lots of money buying separate audio components for home use. It has a smooth sound and bass integrates well with the array. I can enjoy loud music again. I stream music from RUclips. I brought home the night club sound. It sounds great at high volume as well low listening levels. I am not disappointed but very happy.
Suggestions: Would like to see harbinger include a master volume. In real world very handy for live gigs. Don't expect ev30m or Bose comparison. If you are on a budget this is the way to go.
Why does the top speaker produce sound but the bottom one doesn't? Sent mine off 2 times and they claim it does work but I hear nothing on the bottom array? Can you help me?
I think they're misunderstanding what the problem is. Because the part you are talking about is just a spacer like a pole on tip of a sunwoofer so you can place your top speaker on it. Note that 95% of all line-arrays are set up this way.
Was you running a sub with this sound demo or Just the 2 MLS 1000's ? Sounds like a decent amount of low frequency bass if it was only the two MLS 1000 but it kind of sounds like there's a sub running, WAS YOU RUNNING A external mixer also?
Bose L1 Pro 8 would be a rival or is this a bigger stronger line array? Im split because of the app control on the Bose but I heard them both side by side and having trouble deciding. Thanks for the great review
I have 2 Bose there sound quality is a little better😊 but I bought one of these for ceremony it does sound amazing and on sale right now at gc for $499 ! They also come with cases you have to buy from Bose for $78
I have the Harbinger mls900 ....awsome , ok not for 100 people but yes for 50 -75 people . its very well matched ....now i want the mls 1000 but im going to wait till they come out with maybe a mls1200 or mls 1500
Question how much do you know about this unit and do you find that after using it for 3 hours they heat up on the back panel really hot. Is it supposed to be like this.
On sale at Musicians Friend for $600 now. Anyhow, I just hate it when you just play some music. It is sooo important to know how the Mic preamps are, in terms of volume and fidelity. I had a Bose S1 Pro and its mic preamps were pathetic. I traded it in for a new EV Everse8 and wow, WHAT a difference! It is truly a next generation PA speaker! Can you use the line array without the spacer? I also have a JBL Eon One and at home I don't use the spacers. It too has poor mic preamps so I use a Mackie mixer.
Our band uses turbo sound ip 2000's but because they've been in the shop twice in three years we bought a pair of harbingers. We have a 5 piece and usually Mike instruments. Do you think these will do as a replacement system when needed?
ive been kind of looking around for an all in one system that sounds better than my EV ZLX 12p. I like the EV's, but they have such poor bass response you just have to have a sub for any dance event.. You think these are decent for 100 or less dances/proms? And how the reliability? Demo sounds pretty good on this video...
Great review. I purchased a pair after watching your review. They ave been great in both indoor and outdoor events. I wanted to add a powered sub like the Harbinger s2318. How does this system work with a powered sub? Do the Subs on the MLS1000's interfere with the main s2318 subwoofer? Any isight or advice on set up would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
You just don't want to cut any of the bass on the array. The top and bottom are made to work in sync. So, adding the sub after the array is the safest way to connect. Note that it's not the only way.
I am bummed, I ordered the MLS 1000 and received just the bottom and only one UPS tracking number on invoice. I have purchased a MLS900's about 6 months ago, It shipped with two UPS tracking numbers, one for the sub and one for the column, when calling customer support they told me they need 7 to 10 business days to figure this out. It is really easy, THEY DIDN'T SHIP IT!!! or there would be two tracking numbers on the invoice.
I am using two 1000"s. They are hooked up with stereo link and run through a 10x Yamaha mixer. The base becomes very mushy at even medium volume. I have turn the base down on both units and mixer to the point there is almost no base. Any extra volume and the base is garbled
I was thinking of getting one on these and plugging into one of the channels of my mls1000. I put a few vocal mics, kick drum, snare drum and some overheads into this board and feed to channel on mls1000, won’t it be too much for a single channel?
Thanks for the video - very helpful and I just went out and purchased a used MLS1000. I have a question about the 2 column speakers that fit on top of the bass subwoofer - does the column unit that slides directly on top of the subwoofer actually have speaker arrays in it or not? My MLS1000 doesn't have any sound coming out of the bottom column. I've heard some say it is only a stand for the top column speaker array - is this true? If not, I have a problem with the bottom column speaker array. Please adise. Thanks!
Great info as always. Let me ask...Would you/Could you take the MLS1000 and then sync it to an MLS900. So using the 1000 as the main input and the 900 as just a clone for what the 1000 is sending out or is could there be an issue with the difference in watts? I have the 1000 and our singer has a 900.
I called the Guitar Center in Indianapolis and they have none of these available for a prospective customer to try out!!! Only in the warehouse!!😢 What a way to do business!!
Hi I have questions I just bought 2 of mls1000 my questions is when I turned the bass up I see the red light in front of the speaker where's under the harbinger logo, but when I check the top if it's clipping its normal no red light indicator
Purchased mls900 and was very disappointed. After connecting my Shure 98 mic the volume knob did not produce sound until it was turned up approximately 60 percent than at 70 percent sound came blasting out. Returned and tried another with same result. Then tried store model same result. Strange because my mls 800 works beautifully. As soon as you start to turn the volume knob it produces sound and slowly increases to max. Hope the mls 1000 has fixed this major problem. Price point is great if the unit functions properly. Will try out the 1000 and report findings.
When hooking a pair of these together in so called normal mode, can you create a larger mono system with double the inputs like Yamaha Stagepass 1K can achieve? Cheers
Great Question Mad Ness, First Note Yamaha Stagepas1K cost about twice the Price of the MLS1000, The 1K has a Great App that runs everything, and The Link is set up with XLR 3 pin running unbalanced so there is a send and Return in one Cable. Now to Answer your Question No. I would Put My Money into a Mixer. Product details Yamaha Stagepas1K guitar-center.pxf.io/StagePas1K
alright, so at the time of this comment, there is a sale going on. should I get one of these or two Harbinger VARI V2315s? I play small to medium size bars and similar venues occasionally. I use a Behringer Flow 8 as my mixer. I have an acoustic, an electric, midi drums, a piano, and synths in my set. I'm currently using a HeadRush FRFR-108 which was just supposed to be for practicing electric. But it's pushing its limits

Yes, I am still in Oakville but no more showroom online only, No store has Harbinger yet in Canada. you can order Harbinger from Guitar Center guitar-center.pxf.io/yRO9VV They ship to Canada all the time and even show you everything in Canadian dollars.
I have used the 1000s for a year now at my two karaoke shows per week. Comments are very positive. Comments like, best karaoke sound in my area. 1/2 the price and twice the sound.
How does it compare to the Evolve 30M? I've listened to the MLS 900 in store as well as both Evolves and the Avante or whatever the American DJ one is called. I personally felt the Evolve 50 and 30 were the best, but they were double the price or more of the others. I'm kind of afraid to not buy the Evolve, but I'm also afraid to buy them. Maybe I should wait a while and see what else comes around.
I had the mls900...just bought the L1 pro 8...definitely an upgrade in quality and volume. The app allows you to save "scenes" so you can have it pre set for different venues. Only downside I see so far is no master volume. First gig with it tonight so we'll see how it goes

@@johnfarrell7119 are you using two 1000's? I assume that's the case as one might be a bit of a stretch.
Only thing I don't like about top controls is that spills happen ..
You Could just buy an 18" subwoofer then you'll have a great table for your Drinks.
Should I get this or the EV Evolve 30M for house parties with 50 people?
house parties with 50 people, I would get the MLS1000 Plus Subwoofer
@@expertisland I am selling my sub because I'm tired of carrying it around.
The MLS1000 is still a good way to go. Have a look at the S12 from harbinger under 50 pounds
@@expertisland Thank you. If I didn't want to use my external mixer, which output would I use to go to my DJ controller? direct output?
Can you hook a powered monitor or powered head to the 1000
use the Direct out of the MLS1000 to you Powered Monitor or powered head.
Can you use the top array without the spacer
No, that's why I went with JBL EON mk2
array will not work without the extension?
The top array will not fit the bass connection, directly. You will need to use the middle tower section as a spacer.
How about a real review with a sm58 mic plugged in to see how the preamp is. This thing must be junk or something
If you already have two MLS900's can you attach those to the MLS1000? Would the different size of the Subs affect the sound.
Size and Power will always affect the sound but you are still in charge of the sound that comes out of the speaker
Could be work for a live band?
Perfect for a live Band.
Why U not mic test the mic with the reverb.we buy the JBL prxone and the reverb is totally unusable. I think all these line arrays are no good
Column array, Column array, Column array.....Column array.
These things are a complete waste of money. They sound awful, unless you like everything sounding distorted.
Do you have context? No Problem Here.
