I love how some fragrances can change over time, this is why I never declutter anything. Different weather, different place in life, I have gone back to some I've hated and loved them too. ❤❤❤
I gave away my travel size Burberry Goddess! Then my husband bought an 100 ml bottle for me to celebrate our anniversary. I ended up trying it a few times because he loves the way it smells. Now, 6 weeks later, it had started to mature and last longer. And I love it! I used half my bottle in 6 weeks.
I 💯agree with this. I think vanilla heavy fragrances are the ones which develop a lot the longer it sits. Glad your loving it now. Men love how Burberry Goddess smells I think. My husband loves it too.
I find that there are just so many variables that influence fragrance performance: age and development, different seasons, others’ appreciation and highlighting qualities you missed, and hormones and mood just for a start, that I’ve always been reluctant to declutter and have hung onto some bottles for years before making a final decision. Great video and glad you fell in love with these fragrances after the initial impressions.
Cyprus shade by House of oud , which is basically a tea fragrance. I first tried a sample & I got this horribly acid brine like green opening, which made it an instant scrubber. A year later, I saw an influencer( the Retalesacents channel, I believe) talking about how great it was & since I never throw my samples away, I got the same sample & tried it again. I was shocked at how relaxing & pleasant it was. The acidic opening wasn't as prominent & disappeared almost immediately & the rest was great. It might have gotten better because on the first try, the weather was too warm
Hi! Thanks for sharing. I haven’t tried Cyprus Shade yet but I believe fragrances deserve second chances as well because you’ll never know. One of the things I learned in my fragrance journey is that Weather affects the feel of fragrances.
It's the thing that I both love but get frustrated by when testing fragrances. It's great when we have a perfume that we love and only gets better with time. But it's not so good when we end up not getting a fragrance because it wasn't good at first because it needs to "sit" for weeks or months. Always love your videos!
Hi! I love what you said about waiting for something to “sit” in order to be likeable. I don’t like that concept as well. It rarely happens to me as I don’t have patience of buying a perfume knowing it can only be good after weeks or months. That’s an issue for some Middle Eastern perfumes that frustrate me sometimes… I’m glad you are enjoying my videos. Thank you 🙏💞
@alexisvimos7890 I wholeheartedly agree. It's one of my pet peeves, and I've even unsubscribed to several reviewers who just peddle "maceration" for everything.
Nice video, Joanna! I will have to recheck Burberry Goddess, now! For me, Nishane Ani was the fragrance that I grew to love.. It confused me at first, but I kept returning to it. Now it is one of my top 3 fragrances in my collection. That citrusy, slightly sharp opening followed by the most beautiful vanilla dry down. Heavenly...❤
I’ll have to revisit Vanille Tahiti. I’m a huge fan of the house of Perris Monte Carlo. Ylang Ylang Nosy Be is one of my favorite fragrance. I remember enjoying Vanille Tahiti when I was sampling it, but that I preferred Lune Feline slightly more. Being that I hadn’t purchased either I’ll certalnly revisit both this coming autumn.
I had that with ( you will not believe) Bianco Latte. It was a blind buy, and i hated it !!it was synthetic and very outdated to my nose. And guess what….?! It’s my signature scent now! I just can’t leave without it 😂 and I have 40 fragrances. Now, i just get today Bora Bora, and i don’t like it, at all ☹️ i hope it will be the same like with Bianco Latte 🤞🏻 I will let it seat and hope and pray 😅
I get it with Bianco Latte as I hate it but waiting for the day I will eventually love it. Lol I love Bora Bora though and it was love at first sniff for me. Funny enough I was thinking what if one day I will feel the way you feel about Bianco Latte?!! 😀 Oh well with my journey I think anything is possible…
10 days later…. I started liking Bora Bora ( thank God it was not a waste of money) . I guess that is because I’m not used to yellow flowers and tropical scents (although i like tropical fruits), but I’m getting there . 😊
You have to let these fragrances set for a month to get it’s true maceration. I spray 15 sprays and then let them set for 4 weeks or two months. All the kayali fragrances as well. It smell great when I 1st got them months ago. But then months later it smelled so good and it was stronger in a good way than when I 1st purchased these fragrances. I don’t like oud so I am skeptical about shaghaf. Thanks for sharing the red bottle bouquets 💐 I was curious. I just might get it now lol.
I only have one so far and it’s still not love but at least now it’s an acceptable scent. Versace crystal noir edt. I couldn’t understand what people liked in it. It smelled like wood that’s been soaking in the rain for weeks. And some sweetness. It took 3yrs, when i was purging my collection that I discovered that it either matured well or my sense of smell has changed.
Love this kind of video ❤ do more like this in future. My current disliked perfume which I can’t stand, are- Paris corner Khair pistachio & Lataffa Ajayeb Dubai portrait. I am letting it sit now😢
Do you get any pistachio/hazelnut from your Khair P? I don't, or any marshmallow, whipped cream etc. All I get is a badly performing green shampoo smell so hoping it improves on standing.
Hello! It’s very rare for me to change my mind especially from hate to love perfumes. I haven’t tried Khair Pistachio and love Ajayeb Dubai Portrait at first sniff. I think weather affects a lot how a fragrance feels as well. Thanks for watching 💞
@@sueseverin1871 I do get strong alcoholic kinda scratchy pistachio smell but yes it’s kind of strong soapy initially , in the dry down I am getting very sweet candy, marshmallow all together which is again overpowering. Only the mid part is good when I am getting creamy feeling with floral notes!! It’s been a week I am trying this fragrance. I am letting it macerate
@@payelbiswas1801 Interesting. Maybe just try it after a month, hopefully it will mellow out. Mine has actually improved week by week though soapiness still predominates (also it's cold here now) . I hear the Ajayeb also improves on sitting (I have this one and love it). It's whole new thing, buying fragrances and being unable to use them until they've matured - very weird.
Vanille de Tahiti was always described as being very fecal but the people that love it just persevere because apparently that doesn’t last long & then it’s amazing. You made no mention of the truly fecal aspect always mentioned by reviewers which is interesting.
The fecal smell is more prominent in paper now. I feel like my body has to he warmed up to get mostly vanilla. I’m very surprised how it changed on me.
I'm not sure if I will grow to love Yum pistachio 🙈 ..but I do want to give it another try! ☺️ I still want to try Shaghaf Oud Tonka but the samples are out of stock! I am not sure I will like it but I'm still so curious to try it 😁🩵
Shaghaf Tonka is strongggg and polarising but I get used to it. I just learned to spray max 2x for me to enjoy it. Yum Pistachio really changed on me. It’s so cozy and fluffy now with less soapiness.

I change my mind so often I barely ever declutter. 😂
I’m guilty with this as well 😖

Try layering Shaghaf Oud Tonka over Yum Pistachio. So good!
This sounds yummy! Will try this. Thank you!
The same thing happened to me with Yum pistachio. At first nothing special now I am obsessed.
It’s quite addictive now!💞

Funny how our feelings changed toward things… 💞
Love these videos! Very helpful! The only one I tried is Bouquet Ideale & it gives me Gris Charnel vibes, which is good. Thank you!
Yes i feel you with Gris Charnel vibes 💞
Most of these I loved from the first sniff, but Bianco Latte and Celeste were a struggle for me at the beginning❤️
I love the scented body lotions though. Bora bora is my fave 💞

Ohh, and I love Vanille de tahiti, on it's own or to layer, but have the extrait as the PMC edp's have no staying power for me.
Ahh I saw now the extrait version. I agree the edp is lacking a bit with performance..
You look beautiful!

I have enjoyed this video and topic very much. I guess some perfumes are like fine wine, they need to age.
