Edward was not a great Assassin. Hell, he wasn't even an Assassin at all until the very end of AC4. That's kind of why I didn't like AC4; I want to play as an Assassin in an Assassin's Creed game. Connor is my favorite personally, and he did a great job ridding America of Templars during his story at least. But I like how we saw Ezio grow and change, I especially liked him in Brotherhood.
KonguZya Edward is AN assassin, atleast he joins the Assassins at the last few missions in the game. However, as i said before he did not live with the same intentions the other assassins lived with.
Altair took the war and pushed it in the assassins direction while knowing the Templars would someday overpower the assassins, Ezio picked up the pieces, and put together the puzzle Altair left behind all while avenging his own ideals and developing himself as a person and an Assassin, then, leaving a legacy likened to the teachings of a prophet behind for the future generations of assassins, moulding the future of the brotherhood and their war against the Templars. In my opinion the greatest video game character ever to exist.
I don't think I've ever played a game that follow a character from his youth till death. It was a very emotional journey and it's hard to accept that this journey has ended. Thank you for everything, Mentor.

This was an amazing tribute. Ezio is a true showcase of how far storytelling in games has progressed. We've watched him grow and mature, turning him into my favourite game character of all time and one of the few remaining heroes (not anti-heroes) out there. I will greatly miss him once AC: Revelations' credits roll. It has been a wonderful ride.

Although AC3 didn't give the same feeling as AC2, it was still a good game.
