Hey Don, Appreciate the effort put into this video. I was wondering how would you navigate around strict security concerns/HR policies/etc. - especially if you are working for technical engineering projects

It really depends on the company and the amount of trust you've established with your leadership team. Some policies may be too restrictive to allow any flexibility, but many companies do have some wiggle room, especially for engineering since traditionally it's been a highly competitive field to hire and keep employees for.
Employers tend to be more relaxed if you are a high value employee and will be more likely to give you more freedom if you are someone who delivers above the expectations consistently. Ultimately, it does take a lot of trust to move into such a position and if you feel you are not in a good space it might take a bit of effort to research an employer you feel you might match better with and has more flexible policies.
Likely a company with restrictive policies will only change if enough people are leaving because of those policies. I know with policies such as working remotely has been a bit of a seesaw with employers, there are still numerous that have the flexibility there.
