Its a shame that we give billions of dollars in overseas aid and we have people here who need a hand up and not a hand out and our govt CHOOSES to send many elsewhere.
And yet, there’s still plenty leftover. If we took just 2% of our military budget, every homeless person could be housed.
Or maybe if the homeless people would just get jobs. Stop donating countries that export more women than grain. Close the border to keep out murderers and criminals and create more jobs for americans.
@@sunshine3914The homeless would just tear apart. Anything you gave them. That's been proven over and over. Please read the facts. They don't want help. They just want to take take take take.
Anyone ever notice that people who say this are the same people who call any social program we try to implement that would help the poor a socialist plot to destroy america?
Our government chooses to give tax breaks to profitable corporations.
Lived in my car for about 2 years, it sucked. I wish I had a setup like this, with electricity and a place to lay down. You may not know it, but you are blessed to have that.

Same here.. with a retired amputee father and 2 dogs.. it sucked but we made it work for us..
This video touched a nerve. I hope my story can serve as HOPE for you. Roughly in 1983 I became homeless after both my parents died. Father in high school in 1978 and mother in 1982. Another factor was a hard Drug habit (heroin) that started in 1972. I lived with my dog in an abandoned house in Ronkonkoma NY and my neighbor gave me an electrical cord hook-up because they felt sorry for me and I used to do work for them (which they never really needed). I showered (or bathed) at the local lake in the summers and every few days at a YMCA that I bought a $5 day day pass in the winters. I siphoned fuel oil from the laundromat underground tank when I did my laundry through a hole in my uninsured-unregistered car in the trunk to get fuel for my heater. I stole the expired yogurts and milk from the back of the supermarkets they would return and stole the crushed aluminum cans on he loading dock that came out of the recycle machines and sell them at the scrap yard. I realized my situation could go 2 ways, death or slavery to the government system or sobriety with freedom. I opted for the second. It was hard but I placed myself in a 21 day detox program and then eventually got on a long term program. The thing was, I set a end date goal for myself to get off and be independent. I constantly reduced my methadone dose. I lived with my dog also, and ate mostly rice and wonton soup, and those stolen yogurts but I always made sure I went shopping on Fridays and bought a steak or shrimp to eat with money I earned. I was buying those 25 cents cans of dog food all week for the dog, but on Friday's she got ALPO chunky beef as well. This simple statement enabled myself to know that things could and would be better, but it was something that only I could control. In 1992 I had completely left all drug programs and was independent and self sufficient to where I could sustain a small apartment and take care of myself. In the ensuing years I found a nitch and was able to build a civilian career, and also went into the Military. Now I am months away from retirement with adequate savings, a primary small home and a vacation home in Puerto Rico. During this time of normalization, I always tried to help those around me that needed guidance. I realize its much harder now to get back on your feet, and in all honesty I'm not sure I would have the success I did in todays world. But one thing doesn't change, never loose hope of normalcy, make a plan, set goals and if you can once a week or perhaps once a month do something for yourselves that is a normal activity for a non-homeless person. Mine was shrimp/steak& chunky ALPO for my dog. Don't fall prey to the government. They want you as a slave. Only accept the bare minimum you need from them to survive, then replace it with self sufficiency. Don't trade slavery to a drug habit if that's part of your situation to slavery to the government. God made us free men and woman, he can help you find a path to achieve this once again even when we occasionally fall of the path. He's not going to drop a bag of money for you to work your way out, but He'll provide you the intellectual guidance to figure it out. Good luck>
This breaks my heart. I'm so sorry for what you all are going through right now. And grateful beyond measure for my father. He took me in when I lost my home during the Covid quarantine. I was so dissociated during that time I had made no plans for what to do after the foreclosure. Today, my town and the larger town next to us have reaped many financial benefits from that terrible little blip in the world's history. Many businesses and improvements to the infrastructure. But, a stark reminder of how cold and sometimes heartless people became is the obvious growing homeless population. I'd say there has been at least a 300% rise in our homeless population in the past few years. They are everywhere and a person can never have enough supplies in their vehicle or wherever, on hand to help when we can. It's so sad. This morning, very early, I was at my storage garage. As I pulled into the building there was a man with his grocery cart trying to find a way into the building. As I reached my unit I could hear people elsewhere lifting doors and shuffling up and down the walkways. My truck was the only one in the garage and there had been no vehicles in the parking lot. And this isn't even the first storage facility I've rented from where homeless people have had to try to make their home. Our mayor tears down historic buildings regularly to make way for shiny new ones without a second thought as to how many people would be thrilled to benefit from one of these gorgeous, solid landmarks. I don't understand how we got so far removed from taking care of people and their basic needs. Your father? I bet it crushes you to see him in his last years not able to have his own home and those comforts. That stability and safety. I pray that human beings find their way back to being human and we figure this out. When MegaChurches start building MegaShelters and Mega FoodCo-ops for those that need them it'll be a start. All my love and prayers go out to you.
God bless you and thank you for sharing your story 🙏

Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago will help them. They will have to leave everything and just take themselves. Everything is provided free of charge food, medical and dental care. They have detox programs and help with job placement and housing with the person is ready to go back out on their own. They are a Christian Mission- NO government affiliation or funds do they take. This Mission has been solely operated on donations for the last 147 years. It's an incredible place. It's a place I financially support. You can find their RUclips channel. Wake up America. America first!
Our politicians love Ukraine.
Yeah that's exactly all you see on the streets is AMERICANS PERIOD
Guessing you call yourself Christian ? You realize the entirety of the Bible teaches you to do more for others than for yourself , including immigrants . By helping other countries our government falls on the right side , which gets returns when we need help . It all works together and for it to work it needs to be run without selfishness . Only thinking of yourself will get you nowhere
And , if you want to see a change , be the change , why aren't you out helping the homeless ? Or starting a homeless charity ? You just expect someone else to fix it so you hold no responsibility for it ? You realize everything that happens in this country is the responsibility of every citizen. And you are free to make the change you want to see , yourself , but you are going to have to work for it , lot harder than complaining to politicians I would guess . All the people in the United States and most would rather complain that the politicians aren't doing anything to help the homeless here or hungry ect and yet none will lift a finger to do anything to help them themselves . Hypocrites
@LightSnackProductions absolutely wrong first of all there is no GOD that's the biggest myth of all time and is exactly why you weak sheep have to have something to believe in this so called invisible man in the sky has never done anything since his man written claims he do thousands of years ago and second of all the government your so called God is not going to to do shit for you we are all responsible for or actions and success in life PERIOD

Just organizing that space and using more of the vertical space would go a long way. I’m not bashing anyone and I’m sure that “spring cleaning” is the last thing anyone in this type of situation would want to spend valuable time and energy on, but just some thoughts…
-Make a platform over the dogs bed for another (human) bed. Maybe use the mini fridges and some scrap boards?
-scoot everything that must be on the floor to the walls, hang other lighter weight stuff as high as possible
-keep the bikes chained up outside, maybe covered by a tarp. Pass the chain through the wheels to avoid theft.
-pack things away that are rarely used and move them to the least trafficked part of the shelter.
I’m just imagining how much less cluttered the mind is when it doesn’t have the visual cues of something disheveled.
Again, I’m not hatin. The stuff I proposed is free, I don’t want to seem insensitive to the lack of money.
We've tried making me a bed up high, but I get stuffed up if I get too warm, and it's going on summer now. And we do use as much vertical space that we can. This cage structure is held together with twisties and bungees, so it's not that strong. Thanks for the ideas though, you didn't offend me.
Your making the most of what you have and you have taken in 3 dogs. Just get rid of what doesnt serve you and itll feel better.

Id be happy that someone allowed me to build my tent/temp home on their land. Thats a huge problem I see in my area. The homeless people have no where to go. Eventually, theyre discovered and made to move on. God bless, stay strong ❤
Very nice. Very clever. I've been in my truck for 3 years. I have tried to rent and can't catch a break. And I have a guaranteed income. Still can't get a break. So I set up my truck and I have a great tent setup. And I am improving my setup every single time I can spare the money to acquire a new piece. I'm not asking for a handout, just a chance to help someone pay their mortgage, while getting a safe secure place to live where I'm not constantly in danger of being attacked by some freak out here. I'm a disabled senior female and I have never destroyed any apartment I've ever lived in and never paid my rent late or in partial payments... always on time in full. I've also tried to get extra work to make extra money for the more expensive apartments and no one hires unless you have a physical street address. And if you are not willing to lie about an address, you don't get hired on anywhere. So don't think honesty will help, yet if you are caught lying it's even worse. So you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. And I am willing to work and I have bills I pay. But the ignorant actions of bad apples make it very difficult to get a fair chance. No one understands what it's like to be in a situation, that you didn't choose, and be able to get back to "Society's Norm". But everyone is damn quick to judge someone before hearing what happened to that person. And no, not everyone's an addict or an alcoholic out here. But because that's what most people see and the ugly ones committing crime, they are quick to judge and stereotype an individual before knowing anything about that person.
I applaud you for your inginuity and the fact that you didn't give up on life and you seem to be doing as best you can under the circumstances. Rock on and hold your head high. It's obvious that you are doing the best you can, and your space looks great honestly. We went through a period where we had no running water in the kitchen, and the oven quit working and I had one burner functioning. No car for over two years now. We struggle to exist and survive daily. 😞 I'm sure there are many like us, which is tragic. It's just so demoralizing. You are doing the best you can under the circumstances
Thanks.
God bless you guys I could not imagine living like that. You’re in my prayers.🙏
Thank you so much! God bless you too! 🙏💗
That's quite the little tweaker palace you guy's have there ac ,power, water doing better than me at the moment heck you even have a roof ! Your More blessed than you know 🎉🎉
I know we're blessed. But we need better. We've been living like this and worse for 8 years.
I'll pray for you.
@@archangelauriel007 just keep at it life does change and opportunitys will present themselves good and bad but staying diligent and focused will have you guys in a much more comfortable situation before you know it ,🙂
You've done a great job. I'm so sorry we are actually in a world so selfish and unimaginative. In a digital economy, we could flood the market with cash, training and projects but hey... at least you have the dignity of ingenuity. Sad times humans.
You keep your head up okay as America’s this just infuriating to me that our family members are having no problem with paying the bill and they are being forced into the same situation that most people have never had to experience 😢our government has turned on us
Aww, I'll pray for your family. I don't want anyone homeless. And thank you! God bless! 💕
I think it's cool. I'm kinda envious.❤
Don't be unless you're homeless on the streets.
I miss my house!!!
It's simple but it works ❤
Looks sweet
God Bless yous. You do what you have to do.
Thanks. God bless you too!
It looks better than the box I toe around on my bicycle
I think its kind of cool house
You both are doing really good. My son is homeless I would love for him to have something like this.
Aww. God bless you and your son. I hope he gets what he needs soon. Praying for you and him. 🙏💗
I see potential and ingenuity here.
While not ideal, it seems workable if nobody is causing you problems like code enforcement or whatever.
It does seem to be like there is a lot of electricity use for such a small space 🤔
But perhaps many of the appliances are just idle.
A little reorganization could make day to day life more convenient.
An object that seems to have value is worthless if you can’t or don’t use it. The stove for example.
It can be difficult to get rid of things when you don’t have much.
But if you evaluate just a couple things each day, you can probably be able to part with some things.
Stuff can become a burden. Instead of being an appliance that helps you it becomes an object that you are a slave to.
That’s handy that you repurposed the broken refrigerator as a cabinet.
But it’s not an efficient use of space.
A cabinet, a tote or small shelf would be better suited for your available space.
For some things that are broken, get rid of them.
It only needs……we’re gonna fix…… we’re gonna whatever…..
Forget that. Just get rid of it.
It’s also too easy for any remotely flat surface to become a shelf.
Life will be easier if you make little improvements that cost nothing.
Don’t dwell on the big problems that aren’t going to be solved anytime soon.
Concentrate on the little things that are achievable.
You will feel better overall as you do.
I hope you don’t feel like I’m being judgmental of you or your situation. I’m far from perfect myself.
I’m not in the same situation as you, but I am struggling with space and budget issues.
We actively use very little space in our house because it’s full of stuff.
Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Thanks for the advice. We have already been doing all of those things though. We do use the stove, it's just hard to get to unless the bikes are out. We use the stove mostly for our baths. And we cannot afford any totes, which is why we're using the broken fridge as a cupboard.
Totes are expensive & rodents will eat right through them.
@@sunshine3914 Good thing we don't have rodents. But yeah, that's why I can't afford new totes. Mine are broken, which is why I have to store them in the outside shed.
You have a great attitude, may good luck bless you and your dad and the dogs.
Thanks. God bless you too! 🙂
@@archangelauriel007 Thanks you know you know you can talk to the state and explain your circumstances, that is who determines whether you are disabled for the federal government, they can fast track that for you, have you gotten any paperwork from the state?
@@robertlucyksr667 No I didn't know that.
@@archangelauriel007 yes mine was fast tracked in Ohio, do some research for Alabama, find out who makes that decision then make some phone calls and explain your situation, you have everything to gain and nothing to lose by doing that! It can be done I did it and got mine in 2 months.
My prayers are with you and your family
Thank you. God bless!
I have been here. I know it's not fun and so so much anxiety but yall will get through this and come out on the other side.
I hope so. Been living like this and worse for the past 8 years.
Don't worry about the mess at all because every bit of that I'm sure you guys need and you've got a lot more than a lot of people and quite frankly I don't think it's that bad at all I mean I wish you guys had better but with what you've got you both have done a good job with it love you and best wishes of having a better life soon❤
Thanks.
