    Job well done!.... My guess is that he will be back in the spring to have you finish the job... Happy Holidays... This TF deserves a better running engine!🌲🌲

    Like you said on the fly weights on the crank being ground on each end and the centers not being touched. I almost bet that has a bit to do with it. Then I was thinking piston rock or wrist pin slop?

    Motor still sounds pretty sick to me. I would not want to chance driving it very far. Anything wrong with the valve gear i wonder besides other issues. You will definitely be getting it back in the spring. Happy Christmas.

    When mounting the new rod bearings did you use any kind of lubrication? If so, what do you prefer to use?

      Yes, I used Permatex Ultra Slick assembly lube

    It almost sounds like wrist pin, knock it’s a quick double taping noise even when you rev the engine does the flywheel have to be balanced with the crankshaft as an assembly?

    • @Bristolcentaurus
      @Bristolcentaurus 20 дней назад

      its preferable to balance both as an assembly including the clutch assembly

    Not being there its hard to say but wasnt your stethoscope focused on the center of the engine bottom end? Smells like wrist pin slop or bearing slop to me. Wont know until that crank is properly balanced. But wow are those xpag cranks rarer than hens teeth and as expensive as gold

    WITH 116 cr on num 3 MAY be push rod noise

      Off camera, I took the side cover off to look at the push rods and lifters, I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary

    sounds terrible to me, but audio on youtube is no way to make judgements on engine noise IMO. i would suspect the odd grinding on the crank as the possible source of the problem.

      I can tell you that it does sound a bit different standing next to it than it does on the video. Especially in the first video the knocking noise that came through in that video was not nearly as apparent in person. There is definitely a low grumbling sound underneath it all that the mic doesn’t pick up well.
