Something similar happened to me today. I was white. I didn't play pawn takes knight. It was horrifying to imagine the advantage black would gain out of it. I have never seen this trap and still managed to escape it. I think this attack won't work if your opponent has played a 100 games or so.

To avoid this theme of attack i generally don't castle too early. Early mean till i have attack set up
