I have to go see this movie because of a date. Yes, our first date is watching this film let that sink in 😂 whether he likes it or not though, we’re still listening to this spoiler review on the way home from the theater 😉
Look! I know you said the movie isn't great, but you also just said the daughter beat the evil out the father, and now I have to see the movie just to see that.
I swear I get more enjoyment watching you guys critique & spoil BAD HORROR movies than I'd receive simply watching these train wrecks myself. Honestly, this channel is a public service. I get all the benefits (eg. entertainment) of "watching" bad movies without suffering any of the ills (eg.. loss of time & braincells). Thx guys!
The thing I love about these reviews is that I still have no idea what the plot of the movie is, so even though these are supposed to be spoiler reviews, I can still watch the movies and be surprised. 😊
LOVE Nick's shout-out to 'A Tale of Two Sisters'! It's an excellent Korean horror movie, probably one of my all-time favourites. Has Joseph seen it? If you're into horror films, it's definitely worth a watch :)
It reminds me of Burnt Offerings, esp that scene where Oliver Reed attacks his son in the pool and the family descends into madness. Great review as usual and the pronunciation of the word 'wohman'. 😆
'Wish me love a wishing well, to kiss and tell A wishing well of crocodile cheers SANG! ' OMG i had that on CASSETTE, thank you for reminding me that Terrance Trent D'arby exists 💚
I liked this movie, particularly in how it treats the subject of trauma, longing, and guilt. Each member of the family is tested in some way and ends up fighting back with the father making the ultimate sacrifice. For someone who had to give up on a lifelong dream, the message of finding new meaning when life deals you a curveball (pun intended) is particularly resonant. I liked how we saw the longing and guilt of the children and how that ties into the premise of the pool both giving and taking away. The son longs to connect to his father and the daughter longs to be with a boy, but both still feel emotionally unfulfilled once they get a taste of that experience. The mother pleads with her daughter to be more responsible for taking care of her brother, due to her own parental insecurity but in the end, risks her own life to save her son. I think a lot of people will end up being disappointed when they find out that this isn't a creature feature or a movie with a high body count. On the other hand, I think this movie will be rewarding for those who appreciate character building, slow building tension, and a mystery which gradually unravels.
I was thinking this was going to be a reimagining of Stephen King's Needful Things where the entity would feed off of peoples greed and the sacrifices would be more subtle. Very disappointing....
WHEN THE WIFE WAS IN THE POOL AT NIGHT ALONE, AND THE LIGHTS WERE FLICKERING IN THE POOL… THERE WAS A SHOT OF THE POOL W THE HOUSE BEHIND IT, AND YOU CAN SEE A SHADOW FIGURE WALKING IN FRONT OF THE LIT UP WINDOWS… ANYONE ELSE SEE THAT.
I usually don’t catch your videos this early! Just wanted to share how much I enjoy listening to you guys and that it truly brightens my day☀️wishing you both a very happy 2024! 😊 Also I’m excited for this review. The concept of this movie reminds me of a scary story my friends and I bought into as children that if you swam in the pool at night then there was a shadow that could get you. Did anyone else hear/tell that story?😂
Man I been predicting this film would be ass since the first trailer dropped, I can’t wait to hear what y’all gotta say😭 this 10 minutes needs to hurry up
I just found out this movie exists...new Blumhouse horror movie...my favorite genre...!! Hmmmm...Fish Jelly already reviewed it...see the look on their faces in the photo... **heart sinks**
It's available now for streaming on Peacock and I must say I'm so glad I didn't see this travesty on the big screen. I laughed so much especially the part when dad almost drowned his #1 fan in the pool and the so called monster wasn't scary at all. Terrible misleading title and premise. Thx for the review! All the best 💜
Am I a horrible person to say..what are the details of the trade...I mean will it take my frozen eggs for billions? or does it need to have an embryo? Or does the pool sacrifice need an actual "tricycle riding toddler" to strike or seal a deal? Asking for a friend..... I mean JUST HOW MUCH wriggle room does Beelzahbub have in this contract 🤔I mean..what's the scale, will the pool take a goat for a scratch-off win 🧐 🤔 *we can always work something out, just saying*
I was lost when the wife of a retired 38 yo MLB player needed a Ph.D to get a job at a middle school. The majority of players retire at 30. Sir.. where is your pension? She spending $100k to make… throw them both in the pool.
Sharp Objects series had a song on the opening credits of ep 2 ..I had to put on my mix, Glance Backwards Jeffery Brodsky ..deep base psychedelic music
That intro is incredibly gay. It's awesome! I promise you. I will get to the review. I just want to watch the intro a few more times. p.s. I subscribed :D
I was surprised to see that Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russel's son was in this, thought he was still a hockey player. Was just reading a book on the Satanic Marine Kingdom, so symbology in this made sense from the book, never throw a coin into a fountain or pool, or you open up a demonic portal. I see where they were going with this, but the script needed a little work. It was just ok.
I think you guys should comment on each others synopsis in the beginning instead of just reading them back to back. It would be cool to hear what you guys think about each others review.
My family and I didn’t really like this movie. It was mid. It could’ve been so much better than it was. It’s worth just waiting until it’s viewable on tv
Curious why you keep saying the cast is good. Because I thought they sucked. The children were awful. I felt nothing for either. The father is low IQ. What was he doing putting his hand down that hole? What cut him? The mom is a snooze fest. The story could be cool. I agree. The house is empty for 30 years though? Like it would be in total disrepair.

not SINK
Why would anyone go to the movies on a first date?
"A forgettable bellyflop" Nice.
Look! I know you said the movie isn't great, but you also just said the daughter beat the evil out the father, and now I have to see the movie just to see that.
And during the beating lil' Elliott is lying on the ground near death, and no one is bothered!
🤣

All my friends that have pools have talked me out of investing in getting one. Here’s another reason. I don’t want to die.
It reminds me of Burnt Offerings, esp that scene where Oliver Reed attacks his son in the pool and the family descends into madness. Great review as usual and the pronunciation of the word 'wohman'. 😆
technic 😍
Yes, very Burnt Offerings in that particular scene.
'Wish me love a wishing well, to kiss and tell
A wishing well of crocodile cheers SANG! '
OMG i had that on CASSETTE, thank you for reminding me that Terrance Trent D'arby exists 💚
Just came home from seeing this. This mess was ridiculous 😂
Edited to add: Love the Rhythm Nation tee. That was my first concert at age 9.
sarah 😍
Joseph!! Terence Trent Darby!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I saw the trailer for this before watching Poor Things and I was SO looking forward to seeing your review
Lets be honest this movie is nothing but a carbon copy of "Are You Afraid of the Darks" "Tale of the Dead Mans Float"

So why can't they just get rid of the pool????
I love this channel .... Thanks guys for these reviews/spoilers 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Would love to go swimming with these reviewers. Woof!

I hate these pg-13 corny horror movies
I saw it last night, glad I didn’t pay money to see it. It was ok, something was lacking, it wasn’t scary enough.

This reminds me of a book I read called The Drowning Kind by Jennifer McMahon. It had a similar premise.
Yeah i completely agree 💯. This movie really fell off
So very beyond help, this storytelling...and 🙃January's B-grade starts for both your "List" 😊

The neighborhood pool party scene could have easily included a snippet of Rhythm Nation.
It's like the Amityville horror

with all these types of movies, why does it have to be family? tell me why they can't sacrifice a rando?
My mom calls my cats “pussy cat” but she’s only 73. It’s so weird.
